Mercado Beira-Rio, Porto: The only market on the Vila Nova de Gaia stretch, it’s packed packed packed with locals and tourists alike. Take your pick from the local fav’s such as cod pies or all sorts of pies, chocolate delights, Brazilian specialities, Bacalhau this that, pinxtos, etc. Wash down with local beer and wine. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Small but cute eatery market with various food options. Good place to get something to eat after port wine tasting up on the hill. We had the famous Porto sandwich francesinha from Meat Me. It was good especially with the beer.

The place was very full at 3pm, there are many varied options. There are also toilets and it has a second floor where you can sit. This marlet is very different compared to other countries. You can try food feom many countries. We tries focaccia, empanadas, coxhinas and the tasting experience of wine. Prices were okay in relatiom to quality.

This market has many little restaurant and fresh fruits and vegetables. The center of the market is the table site for all the restaurants. When you buy beer in any location you have to go yo the entrance where they have the beer dispenser.

It’s like a pop up store with decent number of stores. Tried octopus from one of the outlet and it tasted a little raw and lack of flavours. The chicken burger was pretty good! Vibe 💯 food 30

Really recommend if you're looking for something more traditional and authentic. Order the octopus and wanted to have more. The wine was also very good. Lots of space to eat and probably a great place for day drinking during the summer. Great atmosphere and nice people. Good service as well as expected from the Portuguese. Bravo 👏

Nice ambience and good options to try different cuisines from Brazil to Argentina to Italy and more.. This is a good place to try different dishes if you're up for it.. We got the Brazilian meat dish, spicy chicken curry empanadas, almond tart, spinach quiche and the Portuguese snacks with bacalhau.. And we also got pudim for dessert.

Great place..... It's a local food hall filled with lots of food options.... Can be busy at times..... Finding a table can also be difficult. Try upstairs as an option for seating..... Had the clams and the garlic prawns - excellent all round..... Lots to choose from and a central Super Bock bar that you operate yourself...

Lovely lunch experience. We had some octopus and some fried fish. Everything is prepared fresh and tastes great. They even grow fresh herbs on the window and use in the salad and other dishes The experience is very relaxing and enjoyable.

Such cool spot in Porto. its fairly new however we were lucky as tourists to stumble into one of Porto's coolest markets. there's plenty of options and what is interesting is that every store is unique in the type of food they offer. This would give a chance to taste a bit of everything! p.s. I never seen such fancy boxes for a sushi place.

Food hall on the riverside. Lots of choice for food and drink. Outside terrace. 2€ for an oyster. 4€ for a large Super Bock beer. Toilets let it down for the ladies. Long queue and no paper. Paulicarus had a veggie dish for 5.50€. Argentina empanadas 3.50€.

A great market which has a large selection of independent food stalls as well as a fresh fruit and veg market all reasonably priced. Perfect if you want a more authentic Portuguese lunch or snack. Would recommend.

Very nice place with plenty of Portuguese products. Every stand offers a specific kind of food : codfish, petiscos, cheese, chicken, etc.. Ideal for a good lunch near the quais !

This is an excellent place. A market full of food/street food kiosks with lots of variety and different flavors. I went for Mais Mar in the right corner and it was sooo nice! Arroz de marisco(Rice with seafood) was really amazing. I think everyone can find something they like and don't spend too much money for that!

Very busy local indoor market for a quick bite. Can buy fresh fruit and vegetables there , or a sandwich on the go, or fresh handmade pizza. But it's small space so need to wait for the space to sit.

Another local market that is too new/modern and just not what we thought we would be getting into. Kind of tourist trap with prices a bit higher than normal and the food is just whatever. Looks cool but not worth wasting stomach space. Find better food.

  • 5/5 Lucia R. 1 year ago on Google
We came here at midday to get lunch and it was a great idea. The market is not huge but offers a good variety of options. Unfortunately many of the stores were closed when we came. There is additional seating upstairs. we went with the Italian sandwich and sea food. The Parma foccacia sandwich was a delicious option, the only problem was a bit of excess of oil. The octopus was a nice serving and very tasty. Then we had the brigadeiros, they were really tasty, I liked the peanut one the best.

A tourist food hall for sure, prices a little over what you'd normally pay but decent enough food from independent vendors. Plenty of Portuguese food offerings. I'd suggest snacking here rather than a full meal. Super Bock beer stand is fun. Didn't see much table cleaning activity but fortunately relatively quiet on our visit, could be problematic during high season. Large TV screen at one end showing football.

Good Mercado with lots of food and drink options. A bit noisy and crowded in side, but you can sit outside at the back of the building for a calm atmosphere. It is next to a road but not dense.

(Translated by Google) The market is clean and pleasant, with quiet background music. It has a screen for broadcasting events, but football was playing and the sound was turned off. During the pandemic, some restaurants are closed and there is little movement. Prices are reasonable, compared to what we see on the banks of the Douro River. Good service. Food was ok but overpriced and we waited 15min for 4 pieces of fish cakes. It's very touristy and gets reallyyy crowded. Wouldn't recommend eating there - just walk in because the building is pretty cool, but get some proper and cheaper food elsewhere.

(Translated by Google) A great renovated small market hall in Gaia next to the port wine cellars. It's a shame that the market hall almost no longer serves its actual purpose, but has been converted into a feed hall or feed trapf, mainly for tourists. The many hip feeding stalls are not cheap. In addition to other restaurants, souvenir shops are housed in the outer facade. The middle of the hall is adorned with a Superbock stand, the tasting, 4 small glasses for € 5 (as of October 2020) I can recommend!
