This boutique hotel is amazing. Probably our favourite of our vacation. Great location. Very friendly reception and staff. Super neat decor and has that boutique feel. View from rooftop balcony is amazing, you can eat breakfast and see the Parthenon. Very accommodating with breakfast for early flights, etc. Room: comfortable mattress, lots of amenities, good water pressure. When you walk in there is jazz music playing. Would highly recommended.

Had the best time here in August! Stayed in the music Box suite which is so pretty, spacious, and perfectly kept. The location is amazing with so much around. Eating breakfast out on the terrace is a must - the terrace has to be the coolest part about this place! Everything is just as beautiful as the pictures look. Every employee was so nice. They go above and beyond to make your stay great - they even helped my fiancé arrange surprise champagne and decorations in the room after our engagement!! Highly recommend staying here!!

I stayed at this gorgeous boutique hotel in April 2023. It is a special place. It has so much going for it - location, architectural beauty, incredible food, incredibly helpful staff. I’d like to acknowledge both Panagiota and Giannis for being so proactive and helpful during my stay. They also suggested such beautiful places to eat and explore and helped me to get under the skin of Athena (if there were such a thing) given I only had 24 hours there. I’d be back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful place! 15 mins to the Acropolis and an amazing view of it from the rooftop. The staff was very helpful and kind. There is no elevator but the staff are more than happy to help with your luggage.

We could not have chosen a better place to stay during our two nights in Athens. It was my boyfriend's birthday and our room, Cloud Nine, was the absolute perfect place to spend it. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that a private hot tub had just been installed on the deck outside of our room! There was a bottle of wine and a birthday greeting waiting for us inside the room which was gorgeous - such tasteful, chic decor and all the amenities we needed. The hotel itself is stunning and we loved meeting the architect, who explained that the building used to be an abandoned wooden toy shop (they've kept some of the original elements which was so charming). The location was perfect - we were a short walk to everything we could have possibly wanted to see and do in Athens. The view of the Acropolis from the roof deck is incredible. The hospitality was unmatched - all of the staff members we encountered were helpful with arranging transfers, providing recommendations, and making us feel completely taken care of. We can't wait to come back!

We had the most amazing stay at moon and stars hotel in July 2022. The service was incredible and the hotel was designed so thoughtfully down to the finest of details. I also loved their efforts to be environmentally conscious without compromising on comfort! We deliberated over doing the fiat tour and boy are we so glad we did! This is the BEST way to see Athens. We were only in Athens for 1 night and this was the perfect way to spend our afternoon. Theodore made sure our trip was memorable showing us all the expected places plus all the places you’d miss as a tourist. I loved seeing the different neighbourhoods. A truly unique experience. Thank you so much :)

The most amazing boutique hotel in Athens. The best hospitality. Would highly recommend ☺️ the breakfast every morning is delicious. Dominika and everyone else were great.

The location cannot be beat! Just far enough outside the busy city center, yet close enough to walk to everything. The rooms and property were very well done and comfortable. We had to leave early each morning so staff provided us with our breakfast the evening before. The staff were very helpful with any questions we had and were all extremely friendly! Being able to see the Acropolis from the rooftop deck was an added bonus! We were jet lagged and wanted a quiet first night so we ate a takeaway dinner while viewing the Acropolis all lit up … it was magical!

I would give this place a million stars if I could. I had to postpone my trip to Athens numerous times and stumbled across this place by chance and thought I'd give it a try. Before arriving the team made sure I had all the info I needed via WhatsApp, which was highly appreciated! You get to choose your desired breakfast and it gets delivered to your room in the morning. It was delicious every day. Dominika also made sure I knew what places to check out. I felt like I was staying at a friends place and not in a hotel, so much love and care was put into everything. My room (Ballerina) was lovely with a supercomfy bed and a beautiful bathroom. The hotel is located in a busy area and at night it can get louder but they provide earplugs (which I didn't need). Due to it being quite central, I could walk everywhere, but there are two Metrostations near. When I go back to Athens, I'll make sure to stay at Moon and Stars again!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Ideally located - within 5 minutes of Monastiraki and Thissio stations; most archeological sites are close by, right next to the flea market AND perfectly situated to access all the bars and restaurants in Monastiraki square/Plaka. The concierge was super nice and coordinated on arrival time to ensure smooth check in, plus accommodated requests. They even serve breakfast in the room! To top it all off, they have a beautiful view of the Acropolis right from their own rooftop patio. 10/10 would recommend.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Athens. The location is unbeatable — close to all of the ancient monuments and on the edge of the hip neighborhood of Psyrri, which is chockablock with cute bars, restaurants, and shops. We stayed in the Music Box Suite, which was huge, stylish, and comfortable. Service could not be beat — shoutouts to Domenika and Giannis for their help before and during our trip! As if all of that wasn’t enough, they recently opened a large rooftop deck with seating, a hot tub, and Acropolis views! Bring up some food and a bottle of wine and you’ve got yourself a perfectly lovely Athens evening.

Our 2 night stay at Moon and Stars was phenomenal! Yiannis and the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when it came to recommendations and various areas of the city. Our room was lovely and spacious (including the bathroom). The rooftop terrace (see photo) is dreamy (beautiful view of the Acropolis!!!) and having breakfast up there was such a wonderful surprise. The location is also superb. Very close to many restaurants, shopping and the Acropolis, but not too noisy. There was a little noise on Saturday night since you’re pretty close to some lively nightlife areas, but it didn’t bother us at all. We’ll certainly be back here for a stay! Bravo!

We loved our two night stay at Moon and Stars! The hotel is in an ideal location, just a few minute walk from just about anything. The whole building is so cute and well done! We stayed in the Ballerina Room and it was clean, spacious, had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. We loved relaxing on the rooftop terrace, we came back mid-day both days to take a little break, and loved being able to sit up there. The staff was friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to stay here again when we're back in Athens!

We loved our stay! We were in the Music Box room and it was lovely. The location is perfect - a quick 10 minute walk to the acropolis, and walking distance from the market, many restaurants and fun areas to explore. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

We stayed here on two separate nights while traveling in Greece with Athens bookending our trip. We had the opportunity to stay in the Birds of Paradise and Jack in the Box rooms. We loved both of them and the thoughtful, unique details put into both rooms. Every single person we met who worked at the hotel was absolutely wonderful and showed excellent hospitality, which speaks to the thoughtfulness of this place. The rooftop terrace has wonderful views of the city, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are spotless. It's a perfect boutique hotel. We hope to stay here again next time we are in Athens! Lastly, I strongly recommend the Fiat tour. It was such an enjoyable, unique way to see the city and an opportunity to learn more about the city beyond what you could read in a guidebook or online. Plus, the car is so fun!

We arrived at the Moon and Stars after staying at multiple hotels on our trip through out Greece and we were greeted by a genuinely friendly staff. I felt that there was something special about this place and we had the honor of meeting the owner's of this family run business. Theodore, Vaso and Dominica take hospitality to a whole new level, making the big hotel chains feel soulless. This place truly feels like you home away from home. I would give this quaint boutique hotel 10 out of 5 stars if I could. We stayed in the "music box" room and it was a large and well designed room. If you want to get fresh air, just go up to the roof top and get a jaw dropping view of Acropolis and the top of the Hephaetus temple. If you want to get something to eat, just go out of the hotel and there are a plethora of restaurants nearby and minutes away from Plaka. You could not ask for a better location and if my family and I make it back to Athens, this will be our 1st choice.

What a wonderful stay. This hotel is simultaneously stylish and comfortable which is hard to achieve. Seriously got some of the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel bed here. Lots of thoughtful details s throughout the property, great service, extremely clean, and trendy without being stiff. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. We enjoyed a fun Fiat tour with the owner Theodore, the 3 hours went by so fast. He was such a great host, made us the feel at home. His wife Vaso was very sweet and accommodating. Thank you for all the great memories and we can’t wait to meet again! The location is PERFECT, everything is walking distance. We didn’t need a taxi until it was time to go to the airport.

I cannot recommend Moon & Stars enough! During my trip to Greece (July 2022), I stayed in five different hotels, and Moon & Stars was undoubtedly one of my favorites. This luxury-feeling boutique hotel is located a couple of steps from the Thēseio Metro Station and an 8-minute walk from Monastiraki, and its neighborhood is filled with life: extraordinary sights to visit, fantastic restaurants, and bars. Besides its great location, it is beautifully decorated without impacting the guest's comfort, has five charming rooms and suites - I stayed in the room called "Jack in The Box" - and offers a delicious breakfast, which is prebooked and delivered to you in a wooden box so that you can decide where you want to enjoy your meal: in the coziness of your bedroom, in the lull entrance of the terrace surrounded by plants, or on the pleasant upstairs terrace which offers spectacular views towards the holly hills of the Acropolis and the Nymphs. The terrace was one of my favorite areas of this boutique hotel as it is a great place to enjoy a peaceful moment, especially during sunrise or at night, and observe and absorb the life in Athens. As if all of what was mentioned was not enough already, the staff is truly welcoming and accommodating, and Theodore (one of the owners) makes all guests feel as if the boutique hotel was their home. Lastly, if you wish to have a different and fun activity in the Greek capital, I definitely recommend booking the Fiat 500 Tour Moon & Stars offers. Theodore will show you the best places in the city, some of them are hidden gems, and will tell you all about the city and the people, as well as share some tips, secrets, and myths. Discovering Athens is wonderful, but seeing Athens through the eyes of an Athenian is memorable.

This hotel is absolutely perfect! I agree with the previous reviews and the rating of 6/5! From the moment you step into Moon and Stars, you are greeted with the most beautiful scent (Zealots products), lovely decor, and a warm welcome from the amazing front desk staff. The location can't be beat! Walkable to everything you want to see (including the Acropolis), tons of great shops and restaurants, Monastiraki square, etc. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious with attention to every last detail (like the harringbone and Greek key wood floors and black face cloths for makeup). The beds are the most comfortable we've encountered at any hotel in Greece! And we loved having a nice fluffy duvet as opposed to a thin blanket like other hotels. The included breakfast service is next level. You can select your breakfast each day which gets delivered right to your room at a time that you request. I can't speak highly enough about this hotel. The only possible small complaint that I have is that the area is very noisy at night (next to bars that operate into the early hours of the morning) - but they've thought of that too and provide ear plugs in the room. Stay here! I can't wait to come back. Thanks to Angela, Domenica, and Magda!🙂

Absolutely perfect. Music Box room is beautiful. Has everything you could want. So luxurious and comfortable. Windows do a great job of quieting any nighttime sounds if you have to tuck in early. Dominica and the rest of the staff took great care of us every morning. Easy to get in and out right into the heart of the city. Rooftop seating for drinks or breakfast, with a view of the Parthenon!

Stay here! We travel a fair amount (for Americans with not enough vacation time anyway) and Moon and Stars is one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The location is amazing. You are a 15 minute walk from most of the main historical sites. There are numerous adorable streets with great restaurants and shops near by. You can aimlessly wander and you will always find somewhere interesting to eat or visit. Moon and Stars is clean, the rooms are gorgeous, and the staff is kind. It was the perfect home base for exploring Athens. Do yourself a favor and stay in the city for several days, it's worth it. There is a lot more to see than just the Parthenon. Last but not least, book the Fiat tour!! We had an amazing time with Theodore as he zipped us around Athens and shared his knowledge of the city.

This place goes above and beyond! So nice and friendly. The staff is great and helped me arrange surprise champagne, flowers, and decorations in the room after I proposed to my fiancé. The terrace is awesome. The hotel’s location is perfect for walking around the city. Stayed in the music box suite which was perfect. They have a wide selection of breakfast items you order which is then delivered to your room or to the terrace. They recommend wonderful restaurants and activities in the surrounding areas. They store your bags if you arrive early or after you check out. They arranged us a transfer to the port. They had umbrellas available to borrow in case it rains (which it did for us). They think of everything….way more than your average hotel. When we return to Athens, we will be staying at the Moon and Stars!

6/5 Stars! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were so sweet and beyond accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and served on the terrace with a view of the Acropolis. All within a 5 minute walk to many sites in the city. If I ever make it back to Athens I will definitely be staying here again!

Absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the "music box" room. It felt like a luxurious old apartment that was comfortable, cozy, and with modern amenities at the same time. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable. Lovely breakfast served on the upstairs rooftop terrace boasted views of the acropolis which, as many other historical sights, was only a short was away. The streets outside were bustling with restaurants, bars, and cafes yet inside it was quiet and secluded. 2 subway stations were in very close proximity making access to the hotel from the airport easy, cheap, and convenient. We have stayed in many expensive, 5-star luxury hotels around the world but I can confidently say that this small boutique accommodation easily has a place amongst my top 5 anywhere. When returning to Athens, it will be my first choice.

Beautiful hotel! We took two rooms. Ate on the terrace all but one morning (in January!). We were able to walk to all of the destinations on our list other than the port so the location is quite convenient.
