Been coming here for years and was really excited about the renovations. The space itself is a beast and the restaurant and outside páteo was a great addition. However, I can't ignore the fact that the cleaning crew, although really friendly, do not clean the restaurant and the coffee shop tables and chairs properly. I always get nauseated with the smell of old milk and coffee when I sit down to eat. This particular supermarket is facing a few issues, just like any other big, new supermarket in summer time in Caldas da Rainha: not enough staff for the increased number of customers. Tills are slow, products may be scarce, and the teams are slow to restock. Also, and this is what made me lower the rating to one star, is the fact that every Pingo Doce employee I have met and interacted has either been extremely avoidant and ignored me or was super unfriendly and rude. On my last visit, the staff from the coffee shop was rude to me and my mom, although the lady then started melting when she was talking to the gentleman behind me who was handsome, young and fit. Also, when we were paying for groceries the cashier yelled at us to not put the groceries before she cleaned the conveyer belt, and after she finished with the customer in front of me, which took about 5 minutes, she never cleaned the conveyer belt and asked us to leave because her till was closing. Would have been fine if she told me before hand she was closing after the customer in front of me, but she made me wait 5-7 minutes before she decided to let me go. Many tills were apparently closing at that time and I ended up using the self service machines, although they are not the best for a bigger amount of groceries. I just wish they added more workers so the staff can be less overworked. It really impacts the customer service. Also, I've seen customers complaining about the bakery, I am really okay with the new system in the bakery where we take the products ourselves with our hands, I've seen similar systems in Continente and LIDL, but bear in mind people may not be considerate and touch the food they are not buying with their own hands. This supermarket used to be the place where I would go for bigger shopping, because of the different products they would sell. But after the renovations the product choices decreased and the staff is not very welcoming anymore.

The biggest supermarket in Caldas! There is everything and even more! Own gas station with cheap prices. Large car park with sunshades. Large and spacious aisles with products. Very comfortably! But the only way to get there is by car.

Bright and attractive supermarket with good range of high quality food and goods. The Waitrose of Portugal - maybe even better as it has more fresh meat and fish. Prices are a little higher than other supermarkets and especially the budget Aldi and Lidl stores, but it has a much wider range of products Good cafe with attractively presented food to eat in. And good value roast chicken counter.

This is my favorite overall store in Portugal. Not saying that others don't have their individual advantages but this will be my go-to store once I'm here full time.

Now completely refurbished and all new! Even the car park has been relaid! Really like this store. Have moved back after trying the " cheaper" offerings. Best bread ever🍞. Great quality and now competitive prices. Update: now preferring new Mercadona supermarket. Admittedly less range but what is offered is quality at what we think is a fair price. We think we're past all these so called offers/ reductions, prefer straight forward offerings. Mainly use PD for wine offers.

This is the best Pingo Doce in the area, nice big store recently remodeled and a pleasure to shop in!

Just another Pingo Doce for shopping but they have upgraded their restaurant. The place is well appointed, clean and plenty of seating. There is fair amount of food selection especially during lunch and dinner times. Some of it they prepare right in front of you, especially the pizzas which you can get them make according to your palate. The prices are dirt cheap. Give it try….!😊

Large supermarket with everything you need. Great selection of fruit and veg. Some homeware stuff at sales prices in the middle section. Has clothing store ‘Code’ in the supermarket too.
