I have only seen such a beautiful open-air museum in Switzerland. All buildings are constructed in great detail and employees inside explain how people lived and worked in the past. There is also a small zoo, but it is definitely worth a visit. Otherwise, I was thoroughly entertained that day and could hardly get enough of it. Thanks for the experience.

What a wonderful gem and great concept for foreigners with limited time to visit. I'm sure it's not 100% authentic, but it gives a great idea of how life was in these regions. Plenty to see for a relatively good admission price. Would recommend for short stay travelers.

I really enjoyed the visit. It will take half a day to see everything. I saw all the northern animals, only the bear postponed the performances until spring for understandable reasons🥱 Many ancient buildings of various purposes, cafes, entertainment for children, benches for picnics. Beautiful panoramas to the city. There is the center of the Baltic Sea. The oldest open-air museum is especially popular with parents with small children. Be sure to stop by😉

If the weather is decent, this park is a perfect spot to enjoy a bit of nature in Stockholm for a half day. Also doubles as a zoo and musical venue spot to enjoy an open air concert. The park itself holds various species of local fauna (bears, wolves, etc) as well as different structures from around Sweden's past eras.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere. We started around 11 am and could see the entire open air museum in 3 hours. There are many attractions within the museum from zoos, church, farm, and many other activity areas. If it’s a sunny day you will enjoy a lot. There is a decent aquarium called Baltic aquarium.

In my opinion Skansen has everything a tourist would want to see when in Stockholm. The park has bakeries and coffee shops where you can taste traditional pastry and baked goodies. You can see arctic animals in the small zoo and domestic species who are closer to getting extinct, there’s an aquarium where you can get close to the animals and I’ve even petted a snake. You can have a free guided tour in the old neighbourhood and learn more about Swedish history and way of living. We easily spent the whole day there without realising it.

The park definitely is a fun place to spend a couple of hours. The places gives a real traditional Swedish vibe. The zoo was fun with a variety of animals ranging from Scandinavian reindeers, to monkeys and bears. There even is an aquarium with a variety of fish. The park offers multiple great viewing points as it is placed on a hill. Note that there is an entrance fee.

One of the loveliest experiences and places in town, although with a bit of mixed feelings when it gets to the lovely animals in captivity. You can wonder around for hours in this open air museum. The visitable lively houses from various times close at 17, but you can remain in the park for as long as you want.

A very charming place to visit. It's really cool that it's one of the oldest open-air museums in the world, and they also have a zoo garden. Important to know, besides the entrance fee, there are certain areas within the zoo garden where you need to pay an additional fee to enter and visit.

A very nice open air museum for the weekend. It shows a lot of interesting facts about life style in Sweden throughout the years, but the highlights are definitely the Zoo area with bears, reindeers and moose. Nevertheless, a lot of places were closed and can be only visited virtually by scanning a QR code. And it is more family oriented.

Gorgeous! The place is a huge open-air museum located on the island where you can see the life of Sweden how it was “in good old times “. The park is really big and you don’t have to follow the specific route, but you always would find some point of interest. It has comfortable paths where you can walk even with a stroller and you would be surrounded with beautiful nature. Most of the buildings are original and have a viewing window to look inside the old -fashioned apartment. It has a small zoo and also free roaming domestic animals as geese and chickens. Park is easy to access by walk or public transport, about 20 mins drive by train from downtown.

Partially a 'living village', partially a zoo, partially a store. We went on a Monday in September and not all the historical shops were open. The ones that were had interesting objects and features. The preserved old building are very interesting as far as seeing old architecture goes. Beautiful grounds. The native animal exhibits we're nice and the animals seemed to be living pleasant lives in large enclosures that replicated nature. We did not enter the exotic animal areas as this it was both an additional charge and we've seen plenty of animals outside of their ecological areas. Skansen seems best suited for families or for people with no particular need to be overwhelmed by an attraction. It's 'slow tourism' in the sense that it is a relaxing place but probably not a 'mist see'. Also, the stop at the 7 tram is the best entrance.

Nice to visit on a clear weather day! You can easily spend the day there and enjoy some house / villages reconstitution and wildlife. You can pay by cash at the ticket booth and the souvenir shop which is a plus. The staff was really nice and the souvenir shop offers a large choice of handmade and traditional goods. Nice for everyone :)

I highly, highly recommend anyone visiting Stockholm go to the Skansen. For the cheap entrance ticket or the city pass, this is an amazing place to visit with family or friends. The animal habitat and all the old structures moved here brought in a quaint and historic charm.

We love this park. It is so sweet and beautiful. There are lots of animals with big enclosures, from farm animals to more exotic things like lynx and Arctic Arctic foxes. The views of Stockholm are really pretty too if the weather is nice. Reasonably priced for what can be a full day out. Really fun time!

This is a low key open air park and museum, with some activities shut down off high season but still a great concept and still worth to visit. Very quiet, and gladly so, as it is not the first choice museum for most people.

Beautiful place, we rate it high for the zoo it was picture perfect but the restaurant was disappointing. Rude staff, lack of staff, not clean waited over half hour for hot water. The Christmas markets weren't open on Monday. not clear on your website. Easy to park, use the tram or bus too. The glass blowing was a lovely extra definitely deserved my time and money. Definitely come again but when the markets were open, the dotted around fire pits were a lovely touch.

They charged us extra for the New Year's Eve event, even if we already had a ticket for earlier that same day. The event was alright, and the restaurant remained open. However, once New Year's Eve arrived, they began closing everything, requiring everyone to leave. Interestingly, the sign indicating the year was mostly displaying 2023 (at 0hrs it changed but then it went back to 2023— I'm not sure why and didn't get an explanation). On the positive side, it offers a beautiful viewpoint of the city, and the music was good.

Beautiful place, especially with snow around you. The mix of a historical open-air museum and a zoo with local animals (elk, lynx, reindeer, etc.) is very nice. A successful concept that definitely justifies the entrance fee.

Beautiful place with many historic buildings from all over Sweden. The park is quite large, so you will need at least half a day. There is a section dedicated to Nordic animals, so you will see reindeer, elk, bears, wolves and more. Many places to rest and relax.

A great open air museum and zoo primarily aimed for children. We bought the annual pass our first day in Sweden and in two weeks have been 3x already. The kids love it as there is so much to see and explore. We love it because it gets them outside and they aren’t bored. There are fire pits for roasting hotdogs/sausages BYO (bring your own). We still haven’t explored the entire place. Views are amazing and in the winter bring your ice skates as they have a free rink too.

Amazing outdoor museum and zoo and amusement park. When you go, choose one of these themes for the day, you won't have time to do them all. I've lived in Stockholm most of my life, and I still haven't "done" the entire museum. It's vast, and not all the cottages / houses / mills / mansions are open at the same time. If you can, go during one of the major holidays to see their special programming.

Weak; low value. Slightly better than a walk through an old Stockholm neighborhood but with some animals & a price tag of 160 kr. It could be cool if you’re with kids, but I’d skip if short on time. Note: we visited during winter time on a cold, cloudy day.

Nice area to walk. Bit disappointing that in winter there was a reduced offering which is not clearly announced and entrance price is not reduced. Not clear what is open to eat/drink so end up walking long to find parts closed. Saw limited animals, as there was cleaning actions as well. Side entrance closed as well so had to walk around again. But still nice place to visit.

Very nice zoo with many Nordic animals. Also very cool reproduction of an old Swedish town, with small shops and a tasty bakery. There's an unexpected extra ticket to buy if you want to see monkeys, lemurs and the aquarium, so be aware of that.

As the first ever building preserve in the world Skansen provides both local and international visitors a glimpse into the past of Sweden that no typical museum could provide. Plenty of signage in Swedish and English make it informative and fun to wander the paths. I just wish they had all that information in a book as most of my photos are of the signs. Easily could spend a full afternoon there.

Renowned as world’s first open air museum founded in 1891, Skansen has its distinct charm. With a vast area adorned by the cobbled lanes and the historical buildings and dwelling would surely transpire you back in time. You will be enthralled to know how the glass is made, how impeccable markings are made on wood, how meticulously the craftsmen design minute jewellery items and much more. Recently a children’s zoo has been opened which boasts a variety of interesting animals, it’s a wonderful feeling greeting them so close to the nature. Overall a nice day long experience for grown ups and children alike.

Visited on Monday and was really calm, no crowds (besides the big groups with children) so had the chance to fully appreciate it and feel the atmosphere. Zoo part is nice - lots of animals that are easy to see and are not disturbed from people. The old town with the different businesses and the glass workshop demonstrations just made me speechless. All huts and farms in the park are worth to be seen. Ducks , swans, chicken, squirrels walk around the park freely . ♥️ I really recommend to consider more time when visiting - we spent 5h and honestly would spend more!

Very fun for young and old. It’s a little to the higher price range but you can spend a few hours here. You get the feeling how the Swedish people lived a few 100 years ago. You can see many different animals. Not everything was open when we visited, you can best lookup the agenda!

Skansen is the world's oldest open-air museum. It has a number of traditional buildings on display from every part of the country. There are a number of traditional shops with demonstrations such as glass blowing. You could easily spend a couple of hours here or a full day as there is lots to see with events and performances happening throughout the day. As well as the houses and buildings there is a small zoo.

Great Park with lots to discover. There are museums an old town with life role play, a small deer park including local species. I really enjoyed just walking around and get the impression how sweden has looked in different centuries. Come early and plan minimum 2-3 hours. There is lots to discover and many things close quite early.

genuinely so so cool — huge highlight of my trip to Sweden. Would recommend for the history buffs — the “living history” fellows dressed up in historical garb don’t really try to be in character like method actors, but they’re very knowledgeable, and kind. I would also recommend for those that just like nature and little picturesque old structures ! There are tons of cool animals to see — I would recommend at least 2 hours to walk around and just take it all in, and longer for a cider or coffee or more leisurely strolling.

About €25 per person to enter. It is an open air museum with small zoo, aquarium, gardens, and shops. Nice view of Stockholm from across the river. Nice place to spend half a day with your friends or loved ones if the weather is nice. Some places are hills/stairs that can get steep, so wear good shoes.

So, what is an open-air museum? Simply put, it's like a theme park with different attractions, but instead of rides, you get recreation of everyday buildings from different, mixed with different animal exhibits. Like a zoo mixed with architectural features. As the oldest open-air museum in the world, Skansen features life-sized buildings from different eras and interesting animal exhibits. We loved the aquarium, lynx, Artic fox and reindeer, though we did not get to see the brown bear. The animal exhibits to us are definitely the main attraction, as we get to see them up close. Expect to walk a lot here, as the entire area is huge. Do bring the map together with you as it is easy to get lost here. It took us half a day to cover what we wanted to cover, and even that we did not finish everything. We visited in the end of August, on a weekday, and the place was quite quiet, with many stalls closed. The atmosphere was quite subdued as a result, but we still enjoyed the experience here. Being open air, the weather plays a part in the experience too, so be sure to check the weather before visiting. There are several food options inside the park as well, though some may get quite difficult to serve you should there be too big a crowd. Expect tourist price as well. We did had two simple meals and an ice-cream while visiting, all which are decent. If you have never seen an open air museum before this place is a must, as it's something that is unique to the culture. It's also fun too.

Wir Haben den halben Tag hier verbracht, man kann hier auch gut den kompletten Tag Verbringen. Sehr liebevoll in detailreich eingerichteter Park.

an unmissable place !! very educative for children and adults (loved the baltic sea science center) and very cute animals. the village is also very cool, especially the glass blower which was mind-blowing (and allowed me to warm up a bit because it was 0°C outside). The activity with seals was super cute but unfortunately everything was in Swedish and nothing was translated in English…

Skansen is an open air museum. The space is vast and you will easily spend 2-3 hours inside. There are multiple attractions, but the animals in their habitats were my favourite ones. The tickets can be bought at the entrance, no need to buy in advance.

Very nice place It has a lot of things inside, for a more than fair price. I recommend you visit the website to check the free guided tours hours and to ask questions to the people inside the houses. They know a lot of things and will show you inside the rooms and cupboards. I recommend you buy the tickets in advance and spend the full day here.

When: end of year, after Christmas, during a week day Who: young adults, without kids I would not recommend going here. Most houses and markets are closed, lights and music are placed in the most random way and animals placed in cages with should really not be allowed anymore. The price is way too much for what you get. It was definitely a disappointment, but we had a good laugh about it. I’m sure that for families with kids, in the summer, it is a great attraction.

An incredibly beautiful place. Here, the culture and traditions of Sweden are presented in great detail and lovingly over a huge area. Surrounded by meadows, forests and local animals, this place is a highlight for young and old. The buildings and gardens in particular are an absolute eye-catcher. These are not only very well maintained, but also feel very alive due to the loving decorations. My personal favorite was definitely the village to the southwest of the museum. There are a few small shops there where, among other things, traditional handicrafts are presented and you can buy nice little souvenirs. Due to the elevated location, there are beautiful views of the city in some places. There are also great restaurants and cafés scattered throughout the museum. The staff and especially the people who work in the stores are very open-minded and friendly. Skansen is an absolute must for anyone visiting Stockholm. In my opinion, at least half a day should be planned as there is really a lot to see.

Very cool concept, especially for families, but I would have expected a bit more for the price. Having such a big park in a big city is by itself amazing. Then making it an open- air museum dedicated to educating people in a fun way is great. I liked walking around, watching the animals and seeing the unique old houses. However, it would be nice if you could actually go inside. You CAN go in some of them with dressed up people explaining the history in a playful and fun way. That's great! Only when I was there these were only like 3 houses. Maybe it was just today, but I would have definitely wished for more. You can see many animals that live in Sweden and I saw lots of families with joyful kids. You can join a tour for further explanations and they have signs with explanations. I do think 19€ is overpriced for a student price. All in all, I still liked it.

At Skansen you can discover Sweden’s history and find out how Swedes once lived through the customs and traditions, work, celebrations and everyday life of times gone by. This is also a place where festive occasions are celebrated throughout the year.

Skansen is an interesting open air museum including a small zoo with Nordic animals. We visited at this place in October and not every attraction was open, but it was still worth the visit. The place is located on a hill and there are some nice views over the city of Stockholm. The tropical zoo and aquarium require a separate ticket. These were not so interesting in my opinion.

We’ve been to the Skansen Museum last year in summer and absolutely loved it. We were four adults having a great time. So I would definitely recommend this museum for all years. We waited all week for Skansen to be open. We figured, ok with all the people needing to work there, we understand that it can't be open everyday during Coronavirus. But went there and were disappointed to see that no one was working any of the buildings except for the glass making, and that we couldn't go in any of the buildings. We are sure this place is a great place to visit, when people are working and dressed up. We just wish that they told us this either online on the website or at the ticket office so we could have been prepared. All we got to do was look at the buildings on the outside, since nothing was open. We did get to see some animals which was nice, however it wasn't our main goal. A squirrel ran up my leg, making me feel like a Disney princess, but at the same time I worry about the wildlife getting too trusting of and relying on people as we saw a man feeding the squirrel 10 minutes later. I would hope that there would be signs/rules about feeding the wild animals. Like we said, it was a very large place, but without any information other than signs, guides or being able to go into the buildings/houses, it was a bit disappointing. In the future please notify your guests/don't advertise something you aren't offering.

Just amazing. If you want to experience Sweden as it once was make sure you visit Skansen. It offers so much, it takes about 5 hours to visit all of it at a moderate pace. There are plenty of animals you can see as well as part of their zoo which is included in the price. There is an aquarium with fish and sea life there which is free of charge. The official Aquarium that they charge for, and which is basically awkward enough everything but aquarium - mlstly spiders, snakes, monkeys etc is probably not worth an extra surcharge of 120 sek.

Here you can also get to know about cultures that you had no idea about. Here you also get to see traditions that you do not see so often today. Pga. Definitely worth at least one visit. Lots of cool unique spots, wether it's the nature, animals or historical buildings. A massive criticism though - baby strollers aren't allowed into the aquarium but the displays are not low enough for a 1 year old to see, so I had to hold her all the time. That killed my back and some of the mood for us. If you don't allow strollers, make sure a standing baby can see stuff.

Overpriced for what it is in winter. Outdoor museum with the feeling of a ghost town (at least in winter, haven't been there in summer). Still a nice place to visit. Spent 3 hours here, but wouldn't come again during winter months. Would give it a second chance in summer though. ⬇️ Find the details why we wouldn't recommend the visit in winter below. ⬇️ Because: - most animals were in their dens/houses and couldn't be seen - Christmas Market wasn't properly open (only a few sheds and tiny fireplaces) - extra entry fee for terrarium - all houses in the town were closed, so you couldn't get a proper feel of what living in those houses used to be like - children's zoo / little Skånsen was closed - didn't see any open amusement rides (for children) - entry fee was higher than in summer, even though there seems to be less to see in winter

I don’t really know what I did wrong, but it’s saddest place ever. 90% of the animals were missing. Bears were hibernating, but we don’t know about the rest. Was really really really really disappointed. The “Christmas market” were closed and also the restaurant part. I arrived around 12 (it closes at 15h). If you want to throw away 16€, this is your place. It’s not a open museum. It’s a normal (bad) zoo where animals are locked. Just to clarify, I don’t have anything against this place. I wanted to enjoy the experience and I felt like cheated. (Photos were taken at 12:30h)

You don't have to pay for a lot of museums here in Stockholm, but this one isn't free. And this is within reason, because it's a great location to spend some hours while you're here. It's a combination between a small zoo (with a lynx, bears, moose...) And an reenactment of old times, complete with authentic houses and people who are dressed and offer insight on the lives of people who lived 100 years ago. This place is really great. It's open air, so I would recommend going on a sunny day to get the most out of it. Great place to go with children!

Skansen is a 300.000 square meters open air museum and zoo created in 1891 by Artur Hazelius. The main type of attractions are wild and farm animals (seal, reindeer, bison...), wooden buildings that recreate the villages atmosphere of 19th century Sweden and the Baltic Sea Science Center. This place is a paradise for children, but of course it can be visited by adults too. The ticket costs 160 SEK and the visit can last several hours if one wants to stroll through the whole park.

If you are in Stockholm for midsummer - Skansen is the best place to spend the day. Getting to know Swedish culture and life back in the days. Try very delicious Fika with amazing views over the Stockholm. Make sure to save at least 4-5 hours to briefly go through the whole complex. There is also a huge variety of Nordic animals, so cute to see them in real life. If you are living in Stockholm it’s worth to buy annual ticket and go there at every time of the year.

Skansen is totally awesome. It showcases Sweden through the ages with their artistry and how they manufactured things to how they lived in those times. The staff were very friendly and it also houses a mini zoo. I spent a half day there but I'd recommend planning an entire day for it as it is very big. And hit the town square and the shops first as some start closing around 15 already.

We visited Skansen mid November on a Saturday and it was quiet busy still. It was absolutely lovely place to visit we were expecting it to be only a half day visit but it took all day to explore properly. Be prepared for lots of walking. All information about the building and animals is in Swedish and English. Its nicely layed out with animals and building slotted together along the walkways in some buildings there are people to give you more information and history. You get a lovely view of the City will up high visiting here. We'll worth another visit in the Summer.

A really big area great for families with kids. Quite expensive, however it can be a full day of entertainment, must have while visiting Stockholm. Main part is decorated to bring visitors to 1900 with employees inside who willingly share the history of houses and how Swedish people lived. Open till 6pm however it's better to visit in the morning, late afternoon they close most of areas, so you can only see the buildings from the outside.

This place is just incredible! We visited on Sunday in the afternoon 12-3PM. The place had so much exhibits! We recommend a good 4 hours in the park at the very least to experience 75% of what the place offers. Inside is a huge open air museum with a lot of Swedish history and traditions. Furthermore, there is an aquarium in the park that we unfortunately didn’t visit because of the extra cost. The Baltic sea centre was great though and free. Fantastic experience, fantastic staff, amazing park! Photos and videos below 🤗

Very interesting place, good for children of all ages. You will need all day for it, so prepare with food and water. And don't use the train in the park, it is not enough for the money. Otherwise it is fantastic, a lot of animals, a lot of playgrounds, a lot to see.

This is how museums should be made ! Wonderful experience for the entire family where all age groups will learn about Sweden’s Animals, marine life and history in very interactive non-technical ways. You will literally travel back in time with real-life people acting as they are in old era in their actually very old houses.

Beautiful place with a good number of entertainment facilities. Perfect for walks and sightseeing as well. A very wide and beautiful view of the city is possible. Restaurants have amazing dishes.

This museum is amazing. It transports you back to an older time. The staff are super knowledgeable about the homes they are in. The homes are beautiful and have that old, Swedish feel. There’s also something for everyone in the family to do. From the animals, to the stores and food, and even to the fun games you can play, Skansen is worth the visit!

It was OK. Some animals, a lot of old buildings that show how they lived in the village. It looks much larger than it really is, I was planning half a day there, but in reality we spent a but more than 2 hours. There are a lot of places to get clean water for free so keep an eye for those. Was just waiting for something a bit more grand probably.

Beautiful outdoor experience, with lots and lots to do and see. The best thing about it- definitely the animals! It’s a huge park so can be tiring for the little ones, but over 6yo should be fine to „make it” to each attraction on foot for the whole day. Food is quite OK, but many visitors bring their own lunch as there is a lot of picnic spaces around. We were really thrilled to actually „feel” the history and be able to experience everything „by hand”. Great fun for kids, every age.

One of the best places to visit in Stockholm - a fun mix of an ethnic museum and a zoo. Perfect for family, although it could get a little too crowded, so I suggest earlier visits.

It is really beautiful and interesting. You can go with children or alone. There is so much you can see. I would recommend taking a few hours of your schedule to visit it. I was there for 5h and still didn't see everything. You can visit a zoo or see an old swedish village and many more.

We had perfect weather in July and spent a really lovely few hours here. Lunch was average. There’s a really impressive mini-zoo in the back with beautiful landscaping and walkways. The highlight is the people reenacting historical activities like making cheese, living on a 1920s farm, going on bike holiday in the 50s. The kids absolutely loved it. Oh, and definitely don’t miss the Lemur enclosure! It costs extra but it was totally worth it.

Absolutely impressive: they've done an amazing job and kudos to everyone working or volunteering at the various attractions! You also get some stunning views of the city. I've spent a whole day there and I could have stayed even longer.

Had a splendid time. Listening to the reenactors talk about the different historical buildings was interesting. The best was watching the brown bears eating. The three hours we spent in the park went by fast due to all the fun.

My recent visit to Skansen in Stockholm was an absolute delight, transporting me to a bygone era that felt like stepping into a storybook. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by a sense of nostalgia and wonder that stayed with me throughout the day. Skansen's open-air concept is a breath of fresh air in the world of museums. Strolling through the meticulously recreated historical buildings and charming streets felt like taking a leisurely stroll through time. Each corner held something fascinating, whether it was the traditional crafts being demonstrated or the captivating storytelling by the knowledgeable staff. The variety of activities and exhibits truly impressed me. I was able to witness artisans showcasing traditional craftsmanship, immerse myself in the vibrant festivities of days gone by, and even interact with some adorable animals at the zoo. It's not just a visit; it's an experience that engages all your senses and leaves you with a deep appreciation for the past. What struck me the most was the sense of community and authenticity. Skansen isn't just a museum; it's a living, breathing snapshot of Swedish history and culture. The passionate staff members made me feel like I was part of the journey, sharing stories and insights that made the past come alive in a meaningful way. For anyone visiting Stockholm, Skansen is an absolute must-see. It's a place that resonates with all ages, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and find solace in the charm of yesteryears. My experience at Skansen was truly magical, and I can't wait to return and relive the enchantment all over again.

We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon and was surprised that it wasn't as busy as I had expected. Probably better to go around the working village after 2pm as we found a few places closed we think it was staff lunch time as we saw people in costume arriving as we moved on. Do try the pasties from the bakery as they were some of the best we had in Stockholm. It's fairly hilly as Skansen is based around the top of a mound. We used the escalator on the left after we entered to get up the steepest part. We enjoyed seeing the Nordic animals, but felt that the signs to find the enclosures kept giving us false promises as to how far we had to walk. Typical of all Zoo's not all animals could be found in their enclosures. The old buildings that had been brought to the site were worth looking at but you couldn't go into the majority of them. There were activities aimed at kids. An afternoon is not long enough to see everything if like us you ramble slowly and stop enjoy the sights. If I was staying longer or lived in Stockholm I would definitely take up the annual ticket.

Super cool outdoor museum! There are old styles of Swedish buildings in a garden and forest type setting. You can go in some of the buildings and see old styles of Swedish furniture and decor. There are some Scandinavian animals to see as well that are in large forest type enclosures. I’m not a huge fan of zoos or animal preserves but this was enjoyable. There is a lot of walking involved with getting around the park, most of the park seemed wheelchair accessible. Lots of shade and places to sit as well. Several restaurants and little gift shops are located inside the park. Definitely recommend! It’s a unique experience

Nice open space museum showcasing different stricture types from Sweden. You can go inside some of the building and see the interiors as well. The at also has a funicular that is a fun ride and a zoo and aquarium. Great place to spend a few hours walking around and learning something new.

An excellent open air museum, shows what life was like in Sweden in the 1930s and further back. Missed out of the glass blowing which was a shame but still enjoyed that section. And then we came across the local animals and saw Reindeer, Moose, Bears, Lynx and more, both the adults and the kids loved the place and spent many hours exploring!

Beautiful place, quite large, you need hours to walk through it. I visited late September, most of the buildings were not working but still totally worth the visit. Full of gardens, ponds, small zoo, coffee shops. Small buildings show how life was centuries ago, in real time! I don't give 5 stars as most of the activities were closed and don't know how they are when the park is fully operational. Highly recommended!

Great for learning about old Sweden. Beautiful sites to see and a zoo. You need to go there several times to visit all of it. Also, there are some live performances on certain occasions.

Fascinating attraction with a plethora of old Swedish buildings, some of which you can look around. The park also features enclosures with many Swedish animals that are very well designed for their comfort as well as our viewing. We saw many animals that you typically would not see in zoos such as wolverines, brown bears and lynxes. Also, wandering around the park we saw red squirrels that ate acorns from our hands!

Awesome place! Huge territory, great activities, marvelous views! Everything was so good. People are nice and pleasant. You can buy food and drinks. You can listen to music and watch other people working. Interesting museums and incredible zoo! So peaceful place to visit with family. 3-4 hours of unbelievable joy and happiness! Everybody will find smth to do and watch there. Highly recommended!

Absolut empfehlenswert!

This is an interesting historical tourist place in Stockholm, as there are multiple old homes and structures preserved here, a large park to walk, a kids zoo, aquarium (costs extra) and a science museum. This place is perfect for your kids and they will enjoy it. There is a beautiful traditional market and we were pleased to see the folk dance. A good place for a family to enjoy a day in stockholm.

The people in the houses were dressed like they were from the old times. They taught us a lot about Sweden's history and how they used to live. You can also buy cool things and eat outside, which is nice. I think it would be even better if they showed us how the windmills worked back in the day. I thought the ticket was a bit pricey, but everything was super clean, especially the bathrooms. Finally, SkansenIt's a valuable destination for anyone keen on understanding the rich heritage of this fascinating country. It's worth a visit!

This is an interesting historical site to visit, as there are multiple period homes and structures preserved here, a large park for walking, a kids zoo, aquarium (costs extra) and a science museum display. We were not terribly impressed overall, even though we showed up for the short guided tour. It was definitely interesting and informative to see, but probably not our favorite place to visit while we were in Stockholm. It’s a great place for a family day, or for those that may be more interested in Swedish culture and history, or early Swedish architecture.

First time in Stockholm and I had a opportunity to explore this beautiful outdoor air museum. Which has so much to offer. Including night lights show. We covered 90% in our visit. Absolutely amazing visit 😊

What a beautiful place! I wish more things had been open but it was so quaint and charming it was worth it. Ducked into a little restaurant and had amazing food and lovely desserts. The staff was able to help us by explaining the different desserts so we could have an idea of what each one was.

We went on a Monday early afternoon in November. Most of it was shut/closed down, but still charged full ticket price. I tend to love these cultural parks, but this one I definitely do not recommend, at least not on Mondays in November.

This was our second time at the museum, the time in summer, so a really different experience. This was a Sunday, and there were large numbers of people enjoying themselves despite the heavy snow. Had a great time at the Christmas markets and joining in the entertainment.

Stunning scenery in winter. However, not much introduction or guidance about the architecture and the buildings. I was a bit confused. Nevertheless, there is a nice lady who works in the church introduce us much about the Sami and Swedish history. Overall, it is a nice place to visit.
