Make sure to not visit it on Sundays because it's extremely crowded so you wont be able to have the visit on a useful way. Children were literally screaming everywhere. Coming to the light show too, it was perfect but also so crowded and full of kids. The museum is very beautiful with ver unique collection of the Islamic civilization. And it was free by the way. The mosque, the hill was very beautiful too. Good place to visit.

An interesting interactive museum, a lot of information is presented with translation into English, the installations amaze with their colorfulness and scale. The entrance is free. The mosque at the top is very beautiful and worth visiting. Also in the mosque and the museum there are cafes serving delicious guzleme and desserts.

Mashallah this museum is great. You can visit Islamic relics all for free. Especially the holy beard of Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad sallalahu alayhi wa salaam and Covers of Kaaba sharif are the most beautiful.

No words can describe the beauty and the high tech that they used to blend the islamic history with high tech.. It is amazing... unfortunately I took pictures only for the laser room.. as for the historical pictures I didn't take picture as I was enjoying the sight.. Another note to be highlighted. all of these were for FREE..

Nice place with some beautiful laser lights activities. Although it is a bit small. If you are going to Çamlica camii then it is worth the visit as the museum is below the camii.

Very impressive museum, with a cute light show ("water show" but there's no real water; beware a bit of vertigo is possible). Worth a photo, the show is only 10mins long. Relics and artifacts from the long, long history of Islam. The hair of the prophet, over 1000yrs old, in a tiny glass ampoule. How does that little thing survive 10 decades of war, social chaos, devolution of entire empires, earthquakes? And here it is. How many hands it must have paced through to get here. The pages from the Koran are impressive. The carpets, the pieces from the kaaba. It's a small museum, free, good WC by the door, not too crowded (weekday), AC's, a bit dark but otherwise very good. Even if you're not a religious person this is still a worthwhile visit. Particularly since it's right in a super impressive mosque which is eye-full as well. Competition for the "most amazing mosque in the world" (one in AbuDhabi might be the best though..). Very, very difficult to get there! I mean almost impossible. Bus 15 crawls up the hill, takes 1hr from Uskudar, and its packed. Traffic, tight roads, horns, heat, sun. Kind of silly to build a fantastic mosque and put it on a hill to be admired at, from a distance. 4 floors of parking but roads are terrible. A big hole where metro station will be but that's years away.

as a tour guide this place is so sublime I don't even know how to describe it to it's perfection. The staff is amazing, well educated and more polite than in any other place in Istanbul. The whole Mosque gives you a peaceful meaning while the museum and workshops feeds you with all the culture you need to know

Placed within the building of the largest Mosque in Turkey (Çamlica Mosque) An amazing Museum of Civilisation has opened, vey unique and interesting experience of the Islamic history, religion and culture. Go for it it’s really worth it and entrance is free. Take bus 14F from Kadikoy harbour (yellow bus) only a drive of 30 min.

A Must see if you’re in İstanbul. This place is full of history. I’ve never seen this much of antique pieces in one place. Thanks to those who have built this wonderful place. Such a great experience. And I’ve loved the multimedia features. You can touch giant screens and read the scripts on a giant screen, also you can interact with most of the projections by touching them. Also they’ve invented specific speakers that you’ll only hear if you’re in front of it which I loved. Again it’s a must see!
