A historic place converted to dust bin. My heart sank on seeing the plight of this heritage monument. The built and design is all covered by waste thrown by local residents. It seems both local civic bodies and mehmadabad residents are least interested in maintaining this vav. If maintained well,a lot of tourists visit and employment can be generated. To top of all the image of mehmadabad will be highlighted which at present in a poor plight. Still visited this place with full head covered by cloth.A big board display the heritage value of this vav among garbage littered all around the vav. I visit this place almost daily, as a part of my morning walk, for last many years. Though in recent years the traffic on the service road has increased a bit, it is still a spot which will have a calming effect on your mind and you can gather your thoughts, forget about vows of the world. The slowly, silently and steadily flowing water upstream the wier and turbulent water downstream make you aware of two states of mind.

Good canal fall spot. Here is the best view of nature. This is located near the college road. And the best view of river flow. And the all sides of river there is best Greenney view. So loved it place. And it's place attract more and more visitor. I visit this place at evening so the I feel calm and heare the peace and flow of water. Best place ever I visit. Five stars for this vav. Zero stars for the Department of Archaeology, Govt of Gujarat who are supposed to be looking after this place. Zero stars also for the people in Mahendavad who use it as a garbage dump. Guys, this is a 500+ year old vav. So depressing to see how it's being treated. Pics attached.
