Years ago, Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth, came to the gate of the Bhadra Fort to leave the city in the night. Watchman Khwaja Siddique Kotwal stopped her and identified her. He asked her not to leave the fort until he obtained a permission from the king, Ahmad Shah. He went to the king and beheaded himself in order to keep Laxmi in the city. It resulted in the prosperity of the city. There is a tomb near Bhadra Gate of the fort dedicated to Siddique Kotwal and a temple to Bhadra Kali, representing Laxmi. A lamp in one of the niche of Teen Darwaza is burning there for more than six hundred years by a Muslim family in a dedication to the legend. Now huge market is around it. A shoppers paradise.

An amazing place for shopping. Women's must visit place. You will get everything here: Clothing, hair accessories, bags, footwear, cosmetics, jewellery, plastic bottles, cutlery etc Best part is jewellery just starting at 250/- Just a bit crowded on weekend so would suggest you to go on weekdays most probably on Monday. Do bargaining for reasonable rates. And the Teen darwaza is a masterpiece.

Teen darwaza is part of old Ahmedabad I can say where you can buy all the stuff like clothing, cutlery, shoes, belt, household items, plastics, bags, street food and much more like a to z , top to bottom, you can find all the necessary things here at reasonable price and yes if you are planning to go there bring your own bag and cash because some people with small business are there not using codes for transaction. TIP- you have to be very good at bargaining 😉( bhav tol ana chahiye). Take care of your stuff. If you are bringing your vehicle then please park where parking is available and make sure while driving that it's not one way😅. Otherwise memo 📝 ayega Ghar par (Aj hamara a gaya😅 because we don't have any idea about it, so it's my personal advice to everyone). At teen darwaza you can find beautiful jwellery like rajputana jwellery (bandhi , chuda n all).. I just love all that stuff. And please take care in this pandemic situation. Wear mask and senitize your hands.

This historical monument in Ahmedabad stands as a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage. As I approached the magnificent gateway, I couldn't help but be amazed by its grandeur and intricate architecture. The detailed carvings on the walls depict stories of the past, transporting visitors back in time. The arches and pillars are beautifully crafted, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the bygone era. I loved the vibrant atmosphere surrounding Teen Darwaza, with local vendors selling delicious street food and colorful handicrafts. It added to the charm and authenticity of the place. I recommend visiting during the early morning or late evening to enjoy a peaceful time and avoid the crowds. It's a perfect spot for history enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the city's history

It has historical significance. You get the complete information in Wikipedia. Now a days, you will see a big market near to it. Market where you will get everything in very cheap price from clothes to shoes to kitchen cutlery etc. Avoid Vehicle here. Walk and explore the market. Enjoy.

Teen darwaja is a market place in ahemdabad . Where u can find every possible thing u need w.r.t household, wearable for adults and kids and that is too at cheaper rate. Female gowns 150rs, pant 160rs , kurta pant set 300 and so on. Major issue is of parking. No parking there, huge rush, would suggest to wear mask when u go to this place. Dust all around and passages are very narrow. Overall it's a good place for shopping.

Teen Darwaza is a historical gateway on the east of Bhadra Fort, Ahmedabad, India. Completed in 1415, it is associated with historical as well as legendary events. The gates are featured in the logo of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The Teen Darwaza was an egress from Bhadra Fort to the eastward. The gateway has three arches which led into a large enclosure, forming the outer courtyard of the palace called Maidan Shah in past, with a fountain and raised terrace in the centre. The roadway in the central opening is 17 feet wide, and that of each side arch is 13 feet wide. It has highly decorated buttresses on the faces of piers between the arches. The height of the arches is twenty-five feet. The terrace on the top of the gateway was formerly roofed over. But in 1877 the gateway was repaired, and the terrace thrown open. Here the great feudatories or foreign embassies assembled before approaching the presence, and the sovereign enthroned on the terrace, mustered the troops for martial enterprises and gala-day reviews, or held court in the cool of the evening beside the splashing fountain. Now the area is congested market. It was built by Ahmad Shah I immediately after the foundation of Ahmedabad and completed in 1415. Through it, in 1459, Mahmud Begada, king for only a few months, and not fifteen years old, quiver on back and bow in hand, with only 300 horsemen, marched to disperse his rebel nobles and their 30,000 followers. Leaving the palace, the young king ordered the roads leading to it to be held by elephants, and, with the royal music playing, marched slowly along the main street. His cool bravery gave some of his faithful nobles time to join, and forming a considerable force, though small compared with the insurgents, attacked them, put them to flight, and destroyed their leaders.[citation needed] Later the newly appointed Maratha governors used to aim five arrows at one of its beams, and augur good or ill to their administration in accordance with their success in striking it. Maratha governor Chimnaji Raghunath decreed and inscribed farman on Teen Darwaza in 1812 declaring equal right to women in inheritance of ancestral property. Raghunath had appealed to Hindu and Muslims both. This plaque engraved in Devnagari script and dated 10 October 1812 reads, Let the daughter get her due share of fathers property without any hitch. So is Lord Vishwanath's command. If you defy, the Hindu will have to answer Mahadev and the Mussalman will have to explain to Allah or Rasool. It's one of the famous chaotic place in Ahmedabad. You can go to have varieties of delicious non veg dish also a center point for females clothing in cheaper prices. Most recommended place for females to purchase best clothes in very decent price. Avoid to go on weekends because it's very crowded those days. Take care of your wallet and gadgets while you are in the market of Teen Darwaja

Overcrowded, highly congested and very high noise and air pollution in the complete area. No space to move even on two-wheeler. Consumes lot of time. Nothing to see as such. Just an old entrance gate (teen darwaja) around which a local market has been established. If you enter, it takes around 2 hours to get out of the area. Not worth visiting.

From clothing to jewellery and from Mughlai to Chinese you get every possible thing here. Also there are variety of shops so from rich to rags, there is shopping for everyone here. But you should have this quality of BARGAINING but in case you don't not to worry the crowd there is quite helpful. The food there is great, from fast foods like Pani puri to Thai Sizzlers everything is available there. But you won't be getting privacy there because whenever and whichever time you go, there will always be a huge rush.

A must visit ancient architectural marvel in the heart of Ahmedabad city. Its design and detailed stone carvings is worth admiring. Please note only 2 wheeler or autos can come here because of the narrow lanes no scope for any 4 wheeler. Parking is also an issue over here.

This place is not in any sense tourist attraction, hugely crowded, there are paddler shop every where, and local people every where, and you can't even thing of four wheeler here, even driving a 2 wheeler is tough challenge and require great patience. If you still want to visit go by foot, and you can see this place while going towards Zama Masjid, Ahmedabad. By the way I visited here on Monday.

The main & most affordable clothing and accessories market of old town near Teen Darwaza. You will find it always crowdy. It is very cheap and affordable market for shopping. No Parking facilities. Prefer to go by auto and roam around by walk.

I heard from a friend this is a cheap baazar so we went to shop here but to my surprise as the name suggested there were three gates (teen darwaza). However, it's too crowded that you will get lost automatically in the sea of people, vendors selling different items of clothes, jewellery, food, snacks, shoes, bags, almost everything. If you are here looking for Western items then it's not a place for you. If you don't like crowds then you can skip this place but overall it was an okay experience for me. This is not a place I'll go over and over again but it's definitely worth going at least once for some small items shopping. Enjoy. God bless~

The street market for clothes, shoes, and accessories and it did not disappoint. The market was bustling with vendors selling a wide variety of items, from trendy clothing to unique accessories. I was able to find some great deals on stylish shoes and a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. The vendors were friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience all the more enjoyable. If you're in the market for some new clothing, shoes, or accessories, I highly recommend checking out this Teen Darwaza street market in Ahmadabad. You won't be disappointed!"

Teen Darwaza or Three Entrance is featured as the logo of AMC(Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation). The cravings of each three gates is very amazing. As of today, you will find a huge market starting from Bhadra fort temple. This area is most popular for shopping lovers. You will find huge crowd here for shopping.

Beautiful but low maintenance. Here people failed to protect our history, location was full of shopping stores and there is no neat ness moreover the stores are covering most part of teen darwaza.

To reach this destination, you can either use a two-wheeler or walk through the market. If you happen to bring a car, you should park it in the designated area and then take a rickshaw to reach your destination. It's a vast market where you can find a wide range of household items at competitive prices. Plan to spend a substantial amount of time exploring the market and visiting various shops. Having good negotiation skills is essential, as most items needs to check the quality and worth of it rates.

It is an entry point of the old city where three big doors are there and that's why it's called Teen Darwaja. Architecture is made from big stones having different creative art. The area is very crowded as its main bazaar of the Ahmedabad City.

The Teen Darwaza is a historic triple-arched gateway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It's part of the Bhadra Fort complex built in the 15th century by Sultan Ahmed Shah I. The gateway's intricate sandstone design reflects Islamic and Indo-Saracenic architecture. It was used for royal processions and still symbolizes the city's cultural heritage.

The darwaja is old and in good shape than expected. It has got carving in details but it is covered in a very busy market so you might want to check this out from distance
