Such an amazing place to visit, especially having always been a big fan of Steve Irwin. It's a beautiful zoo, so well maintained and a great variety of encounters to choose from. Entry is a bit pricey though, especially with a larger family and all children above 14 requires an adult ticket.

OK, Queensland is hot. That said, dress appropriately for the weather that day and sensible shoes, as you will do a lot of walking. There is an absolutely amazing amount of parking. This being said, it fills up quickly, and I have had friends on occasion turn up and the carparks are full. People will start turning up an hour before the park opens. Please, please take the time to book your tickets online. This will speed up the entry process for everyone. As you can see from the photo of the entry taken 15 minutes after the park opened. You are welcome to bring in your own food and drink. There are also a good amount of hydration stations where you can refill your water bottles. The shows are great to watch, however if you have been a few times they are all the same. Again, great shows and very informative. Many animals to look at, both native and from overseas. You can read about the different environmental projects they are a part of and if you wish, you can donate to one or all of your choosing. Highly recommend making a day trip here, take your time and enjoy the shows.

The best zoo we have ever been to, their staff are accommodating and lovely. The zoo is stunning. Native flora fauna everywhere. A lot of attractions are interactive and you get a real hands on experience. Remember to pack sunscreen and wear comfortable shoes. Well worth the visit. We were there for over 6 hours and did almost 20,000 steps.

Wow! What an amazing zoo! Presented so beautifully! Amazing gardens, clean walkways and the animals are very cared for. Enjoyed every moment at this wonderful place! You can feel the love in this zoo and it was a joy to visit. The staff were very friendly and we had a wonderful day out! Africa is mind blowingly beautiful so very impressed!

The day was great from start to finish. The animals were great as I had hoped but it was better than that as the staff were truly invested in the well being of the animals. I was very surprised with the food for the humans as well. I am a bit of a problem being gluten and lactose intolerant but was able to get a great Caesar chicken salad my wife had a beef wrap both were a good size serving and for a very reasonable price. The footy ovals should check it out and learn how not to gouge the public. To do it properly it will take you most of the day.

This place never disappoints. Great friendly staff with lots to see. Be prepared to spend the whole day here. Tip: get your lunch early to avoid the queues especially if you intend seeing the crocodile show and want to get good seats. Fantastic water playground for kids to play in and free animal displays. Paid extra to see the wildlife hospital and was lucky to see several procedures taking place.

Spent around half a day here and it’s really well designed and decorated. Lots of trees which offer you natural shade, so clean and well maintained. Lots of animals to see, you can pet kangaroos and they also offer different shows, which we didn’t attend. My tip is to skip them/ a few because the zoo gets really empty. Sometimes it was just me and my husband walking around. Also, if you go in the morning, I’d recommend taking the shuttle they offer (once you are in the zoo) to the Africa section, which is in the far back. Then you can make your way from the far back to the entrance/exit. This way it may be a bit quieter. The zoo is not just for kids and families but also adults :) The only point I would criticise is the species-appropriate keeping for some of the animals… thinking here of the elephants and cheetahs. The are seemed way to small for them, the two cheetahs were walking up and down, which I believe isn’t a good sign. Other than that the areas for the other animals seemed appropriate and all was clean.

Every year, I visit and seeing the upgrades makes it worthwhile. Be ready to walk a lot because the zoo is huge and requires a lot of water. The heat and humidity can still be tense even when the weather is cloudy, so pace yourself and you will be fine.

When passion meets wildlife, you get such a great zoo. Beautifully maintained, very spacious, the animals are well taken care of, even the shops are great. $59 per adult isn't cheap, but feels fair for this place. You can easily spend 5 hours here. And the show at the crocoseum is great, for the entire family.

I visited Australia Zoo with my partner and rainbow baby. I enjoyed everything about this Zoo. It was probably one of the absolute BEST zoo I have ever been to. The Zoo is very well spread out, plenty of space, plenty of seats to rest feet, lovely long walks to detox from life, the opportunity to learn about animals and snakes, the opportunity to encounter animals. I would have liked to see butterflies here though. The zoo covers a large area yet there’s not many animals to see. I could not see much of any legacy of Steve Irwin which is what I came for too, when he died we visited the zoo to sign his shirts, those shirts I could not find on display anywhere, where are they? I would have liked to see that display alone with letters and cards left for him that day. I’m heartbroken his family do not honour him in this way being an Iconic Australian Legend. If he was still alive, zoo would been in a much better way. I am no one to judge but very disappointed in that part. The food court was a bit pricy but I actually very much enjoyed the food court. Food was lovely, healthy and delicious despite the prices.

Unbelievable good. My wife and I loved it. Unlike many other zoos, it is big. We wondered around for hours. Experienced Lemurs on the ground only 2 metres away. Watched elephants swimming and being feed. Giraffes & zebras all wondering around in large fields, not in pens like many Zoos. The memory & work of Steve Irwin is palpably alive & present everywhere. The best however is the Crocosium with the beautiful trained birds flying over our heads in formation only a metre away. And don't forget the crocodile feeding. Plenty of food outlets and toilets are available. Maybe the best was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. In short, a must go and visit.

Oh my lord what an amazing experience 😁 what a credit this zoo is to Steve Irwin and his family. I couldn't fault it! There were free playgrounds for the children, clean toilets throughout and places to buy food. Merchandise stores also. The show at the Crocoseum and the Tiger enclosure were amazing. All the animals were easily visible and obviously comfortable and well cared for in their enclosures. Highly recommend the Zoo for young and old 😊👍

Lovely place, fun for the whole family. There is quite a bit of walking involved (obviously), so be prepared. Also beware that food prices are quite expensive, so prepare for that in advance. Would recommend ample water and sun protection.

Look - who doesn't love a great zoo!! Has been a while since we took the kids and we all really enjoyed our day!! We decided to jump in the car and turn up. Queues passed through quickly enough and always plenty of space to move around even on a busy weekend. Pleasantly surprised that the retail shop is well priced... sell at a reasonable price and the people will buy - sell extortion and it will sit and dust. Good to see they chose the common sense approach and both my girls loved walking away with a toy and t-shirt. My favourite section will always be Africa. Sad not to see the elephants - not sure where they've disappeared to. The main show was also a treat and I found the birds to be fabulous during the show.

Had a wonderful experience with friends , we saw the Croc show , also with the beautiful birds , the Tiger show . The Otters getting fed , “so cute” A cute baby Giraffe running around , patted a Koala , Rhinos, plus many of the amazing animals . And of course the beautiful Asian Elephants, which made my day . The staff are amazing , all extremely helpful, and very informative. So much space for each species , and so clean . I would like to say a special thank you to the lovely staff member who made it possible for me to get another copy of Terri Irwin’s book , “My Steve “ as a replacement for the one I missed placed on the day free of charge . “Overall what an experience “ .

We had a wonderful day here, the zoo is well laid out, the map helps too, we just ticked off the animals as we went but managed to see everyone! Enclosures are a good size and clean. Highly recommend the $2 donation to go look inside the vet clinic too!! The cafe was good with a huge selection, and reasonable prices. Toilets were all clean. Overall great day!!

5yo and I had a great time at his school excursion. But it definitely requires two days to get around and see everything. Highly recommend visiting this zoo. And, if you know the Irwin family, it's an extra treat if you see them. First trip and planning our next one in a months time with all the family. I'd say it's worth purchasing annual tickets.

Seen a lot of negative reviews about this place and I really don’t understand them. This place is the greatest zoo I have ever visited. It is huge and there is so much room for the animals to enjoy themselves whilst being protected from an unsafe environment. The keepers take really great care of each animal here and that is what matters! A lot of people have complained about how Steve’s legacy is being impacted negatively but I think the Irwin’s have done a fantastic job of continuing Steve’s mission. A lot of people don’t understand that the money we spend at the zoo goes towards protecting wildlife, and the negative reviews show that. It is better to think about what the Irwin’s are doing and how the zoo works to protect animals rather than thinking about the negatives. Purchasing tickets beforehand is a great idea to save the wait and for transport, a bus service is a great inexpensive way for again save time. The croc show was awesome and it was nice to be able to sit with the kangaroos and feed them. Again, this place is fantastic for education and is a wonderful place to visit.

A great experience for kids of all ages and anyone who enjoys animals, the outdoors and the legendary Steve Irwin. It's a huge place with heaps to see, so a 2 day trip would be recommended to do it all justice at a leisurely pace. The staff were all very polite, helpful and enthusiastic which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area or QLD. Check out the Crocodile feeding show for sure.

Fantastic zoo. Always so fun to visit with the kids. Animals well looked after, lots of different areas to explore. Zoo maintained well. They have different experiences for you to do if you would like, holding snack, koala etc. The croc show is always amazing, birds are so beautiful. We missed the cheetah walking around unfortunately. Easy drive from Brisbane, hour and a half. Worth the drive. Would recommend everyone of all ages go visit the team at Australia zoo.

A great experience. Was very impressed with the park layout. It was great to have a paper map and it was easy to follow. (Other attractions do not offer paper maps) A great range of animals to see and the grounds were well maintained and looked after. A lot of walking so bring some sensible shoes. They did have some disability scooters that you could hire if needed. There was a shuttle that will bring you back or drop you off from the other end of the park.

This was my third visit, but it was the second or first for the rest of our group. There are always new animals and exhibits to see. Make sure you have your walking shoes on! We also hired a mobility scooter for one member of our group, which was a good option to have. So many things to see and do in a day. Highly recommend!

Wonderful scenery all around the Zoo. Many places to fill your water bottle plus loads of vending machines for drinks, no cash taken though. Easy to walk through and find everything although more shaded areas would have been nice. The crocodile show was the highlight of the day, got to see some amazing and well trained birds and Robert Irwin feed a massive croc! Huge amount of animals from all across the world. Gift shop is surprisingly well priced with t shirts being only $50 and hats $35. Overall wonderful day out, definitely worth the ticket price.

It's "The Australia Zoo"! It is brilliant, memories of Steve are everywhere. The animal shows are informative as well as entertaining. The museum is awe-inspiring. Seeing Robert's artwork and buying a piece to take home. And even purchasing a khaki shirt...lol There are hands-on interactions. I saw children and adults of all ages enjoying this beautiful place. The animal enclosures are amazing. The walk around the grounds is beautiful in itself, with little lizards freely living and loving life. The only animals we could not see on the day were the Irwin tortoises, they were very good at hiding. You won't regret the decision to go.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing place to experience. From the lovely staff who scanned our tickets, to the zoo keepers who were so friendly and answered any question, to the friendly staff at Crikey Cafe. This zoo is exceptional, we were in awe from our first animal viewing of the Giraffes. Then it kept getting better. We were fortunate to watch the Tiger show, Otter show and the Crocodile show. These shows weren't animals being trained and doing tricks, it was to see how they behave in their natural habitat. We were so relieved, and watched on in wonderment. Crikey Cafe was better than what I read in reviews. The salad wrap, cheeseburger and coffees were all good and reasonably priced. Our best part was watching Robert Irwin and Nero show us what "not to do with crocodiles". It was so great to watch them with Charlie the Croc, and the love they have for them. Definitely gave me an appreciation for crocodiles 🐊 A big plus was finding the Irwin Turtle in his huge habitat. He's so cute and tiny😍 This zoo is ethical, with large habitats for all the animals, plus time away from public viewing to prevent them becoming stressed. You can truly see that all the animals are healthy, happy and loved. A zoo not to be missed. Well done to the Irwin family

The kids love the Zoo 😊 such wonderful family experience. I highly suggest a great day out at Australia Zoo on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. There's not a great deal I can complain about 😂😂 Australia Zoo is very well maintained, bathrooms are always clean, service is lovely and the animals are very well looked after from a visitors perspective. My little children love the "get wet area" and bounce pillow, such a great addition and my older children enjoy the interactions and Zoo in general 😊 Treat yourself to some awesome animal therapy, an ice cream and great shows.... stop in at Australia Zoo 😊

Great zoo for the big and the small ones. Good variety of animals on display. Many unique animals which you don’t see in other zoos in Australia. There is a wildlife hospital next to the zoo. You can sneak peak the hospital in action. Wear a pair of comfortable shoes. There will be a lot of walking.

Wow! I'll say it again...wow! Huge congratulations to the Irwin family and the 500 plus people working there. You have done yourself proud. The surroundings you have created are lush, green, natural and exceptionally inviting. Lots of seating to rest yourself, grassed areas to sit and relax, water stations to refill containers or drink from, fine misters to cool yourself down, water park area for the kids to cool and play.... The list goes on. Then there are the animals itself. Areas are clean, natural and large. Lots of opportunity for interaction with different animals. Educational shows with differing species. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Retail therapy opportunities at reasonable prices. This is a day thing so take along food and drink and have a picnic whilst there 😁 There is a new restaurant currently under construction. I'm looking forward to going again!

Australia Zoo is an absolute must see, this place truly has it all. Steve done so much good while he was alive, and it is fantastic to see his memory live on in such a thoughtful way. Getting around the park is super easy whether its walking, in a stroller, wheelchair or catching the Zoo transfer train. Make sure you set aside the entire day and get there early as you do not want to miss out on any of the shows. Take sunscreen and a wide hat and your set for the best day out.

Not like any other zoo! The animals have gigantic and really beautiful enclosures. The whole space doesn't feel like it's put on for show but rather a sanctuary to care for the animals. It's not the cheapest place at $61 for entry and the Wildlife Hospital. But the beauty & scale of the park and the work that they do makes it worth it. Steve's legacy truly lives on through this park.

What a zoo!! Not only is it huge but the quality and cleanliness of each exhibit was impressive. The shows were wonderful and I highly recommend you go to them all. It's a very big so, so if you have small children with you make sure to get a pull-trolley which also has storage and drink holders. The food has improved substantially since my last visit. A great family outing and must for all Australians and tourists.

Visiting Australia Zoo was one of the highlights of our trip. A good escape from busy Brisbane City. The animals seem content and the premises well maintained. Easy access in and out-with ample parking. Main restaurant had typical fast food and restrooms were available just below. Watched a show but think that it could do with some improvement-the human side. The animals performed 100%!

If you like animals There are many animals to see in Australia Zoo Attractions suitable for family travel There are many performances to watch inside Especially the crocodile feeding show Very exciting It is also very suitable to visit with children You can also introduce different types of animals to children The zoo is very big and can be visited almost all day long. Food is also sold inside. So don't worry about being hungry It is recommended to go to Australia Zoo once in winter and summer You can see different appearances of animals in different weather😍 🌟 Also recommended for international students who have just arrived in Australia If you still don’t know what to plan for your holiday, you might as well go to the Australia Zoo for a walk.

Still a great place to visit for the family but a few exhibitions are not on display at the moment maybe because of COVID of not being in school holidays but the kids farm animals was out of action. Still love the fact that you can take in your own food for lunch as it saves a lot of money with a big family outing. The giraffes are worth seeing as well as the lemurs but its a long walk so if you don't like walking take the shuttle at least one way to save those little legs.

I was pleasantly surprised by many aspects of the zoo. Firstly, the animals on display were superb. Great variety. Very satisfied. Another worthwhile observation was the cost of food. At most theme parks, food is obscenely expensive. At the Zoo, however, the prices were very reasonable. But the clincher was the encounters you can book. You can spend time engaging with certain animals for around 30 minutes. I saw one such encounter, and I wished it was me in that enclosure.

Absolutely incredible experience, the most exceptionally manicured and well presented park (not just zoo) we have ever been too. The quality of the enclosures (if you could even call them that) and exhibitions is second to none and there are many instances where you can have interactive experiences. This is like the Hilton for zoo animals, very impressed with how well taken care of they were, best zoo hands down. Prepare to spend the whole day there, wear good shoes and sunscreen!

Definitely recommend visiting the zoo at least once. It will need a full day pretty much to cover the entire zoo and view most of the shows - with the crocodile show being the highlight that can't be missed. The cafe is very average and just fills your stomach to get you going. Recommend bringing your own food. But a great enjoyable experience overall.

We were so impressed. Importantly, there were happy, healthy animals and reptiles. Happy staff, who love their work. The thought behind tributes to the country of origin, including Africa and Asia was well considered and a welcome experience. The care to alleviate stress for the animals, in the landscaping and running water was equally thought out. We went weekday, there would have been hundreds but it's also so well managed throughout, it still felt like a personal journey. Thank you Irwin's and staff 🙏 bravo

End your tour in Africa, the convenient tram ride that takes you back is so good. Convenient or my little children in my family and a pregnant family member of mine to get back to the beginning. The birds steal the show without a doubt, my kids couldn't stop raving about how awesome it was.... Maybe advertise abit more about the shuttle service as I'm sure lots of people would love a lift down to Africa instead of the massive walk... But this place has a soft spot in my heart, Steve Irwin was and always will be an Australian treasure, what he has done for wildlife conservation and just pure excitement about our country is something that hasn't been repeated yet. Get out and visit this place, support the locals and the cause.... It couldn't be more important!!!

Good fun day out for the family. The annual passes work out great value if you can go more than twice in a year. Every time we go there seems to be new attractions and facilities. Always enjoy our time there

Amazing A credit to everyone concerned. The crocidile show was both educational and entertaining the variety of animals, reptiles and birds was spectacular and the environment they are housed in is a credit to zoo staff and management. Well done everyone. PS we won't tell mum who got in the water with Charlie

Highly recommend coming to this iconic zoo. Tickets aren't too pricey for a zoo. They also have student discounts too. So may animals to see. So many shows too see. No need to pay extra to the shows. Definitely visit! Elephants will be coming too. Lots of walking. But that's okay. Because lots to see along the way. Lots to learn in the signs too. The souvenir shop wasn't too expensive. Reasonably priced. Will love to visit again! The animals look well looked after too.

Absolutely amazing zoo. Very big area, so a lot of walking is involved. Bring prams for kids and wheelchairs for elderly. The animals are beautiful and enclosures are huge. You can get up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas too.

Amazing day spent at the Zoo. So much to see and do and all the animals were putting on a show. The croc show was phenomenal and a definite must see. You will need a good day to do everything there and check show times as we missed the red panda experience because it was at 9am.

The Zoo is always a good place to visit, everything is clean, people were socially distancing for the most part. The exhibits were good and the staff very knowledgeable. The only downside I can think of was the food but you don't go to the zoo for the food, and if you BYO lunch then problem solved. Obviously you can't miss the main show but I liked the smaller shows as well, especially the reptile one.

Some elements are a little tired, but given the shut-downs and restrictions they have fared well. Staff are well trained, happy and eager to please. Bring your walking shoes, it is a big complex. It is great for the kids who may be able to pat a kangaroo or koala.

Never have I ever had a bad experience with Australia Zoo! My family loves it, my son loves it, I love it. I bring work clients here. It's just a phenomenal place! The meaning behind the zoo and the people behind the scenes do incredible work, and it's forever forward thinking of how to preserve our lands and animals to work towards a better, brighter, and conserved future. I am always here for it and will forever consider myself a supporter of the entire experience ✨️ 💜 For the Irwin's, animals and staff, incredible 🎉

We were able to go through the whole map for 5 hours with a 9 years old kid. We were able however to see only the one show at the crocoseum with the flying birds and the crocodiles. Twice We tried the otters but at lunch they were sleeping in their log and at 5 pm they were already gone to sleep. Very friendly kangaroos, beautiful animals. Very happy indeed. I have never seen so clean zoo in my entire life and have been to many. Enthusiastic and passionate zoo members. I got help when i did not need, it is really good. The organisation is incredible to the last detail. I will try next year to book in advance a pic with the giraffe as you cannot do an adventure on the day unless you have planned in advance. Put your project management hats on if you want a more specific adventure. I was happy to get plush. Very expensive but incredible quality. The wombat looks like a real one. 😳

Fantastic zoo. Really well kept, easy to view enclosures. Some great opportunities to get close up and personal with some of the animals. I'd recommend booking the animal experiences early. They are reasonably priced and well worth doing. Got to see Robert Irwin present the croc show in the Crocoseum, but the birds were great, too.

Huge place , great family environment . Make sure you make a point of seeing the live shows, awesome! A bit pricy for admission , especially when you should go twice to see everything , so you'd almost be better off buying a two day pass or a year pass .

I've been to many zoos in Australia across a few states, and this is by far the best I've seen. The grounds, attractions and animals are so well looked after it was quite frankly astonishing. The price of admission is high, but it's a full day attraction with so much to do and see that you won't be thinking about the admission price by the time you leave at the end of the day. The cafe served excellent food, at reasonable prices, and there is a water park for the kids to cool off - bring bathers;) The show at 1.15 is unmissable and we had both Robert and Kerri do the show so I think we got very lucky ;)

Thought we must visit here while we were in Queensland. The park was easy to reach on the train, with a bus shuttle service that picks up from the station. There’s a large variety of interesting animals to see here, including the usual kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles. The croc show in the main arena was good and was preceded with lots of interesting birds. I would definitely recommend wearing some comfortable shoes for wandering round and taking a water bottle, as there are refill points around the park. Overall, would highly recommend a visit.

I think the Australia Zoo is a paradise on earth!! I love the beautiful, expansive setting. The flora AND fauna are just exquisite. We really enjoyed the tiger presentaion and the bird and crocodile shows. All throughout the park are various programs running, refreshments are an easy access and plenty of clean toilets. If you need to sit a bit there are plenty of shaded areas. We had a grand day and look forward to our next visit.

The animals all look well taken care of and the Staff are all amazing. My little future zoo keeper was soaking everything and was so happy. Got to see Robert do the crocodile show and that made our entire trip. Thank you for taking the time to do the shows so visitors can get a glimpse of the irwing legacy. Keep up the great work. We had a great trip visiting Australia Zoo, and our overseas visitors loved it! We got to feed the giraffes, pat koalas and give food to Kangaroos. Would recommend to have a look on show times and activities prior visiting so you can plan your trip better, we missed some of the activities as we did not look for all the things you can do there beforehand. Some of the things you also need to make a booking in advance. Can highly recommend visiting.

A great family day! So many animals to see, interesting keeper talks, the Wildlife Warriors crocodile show is great, jumping pillow for the kids to have a break, lots of seats and shady spots for a sunny day, and more. Bring swimmers for the kids, and some frozen water bottles for a hot day. Highly recommended.

Australia Zoo is such a good place. They're enforcing covid restrictions but makes sure everyone still has a good day. Around the zoo they have facts and activities. You cannot miss out on the Crocodile Show, one of the best shows. At the start of the show they have Bindi and Chandlers wedding (well part of it) and memories of Steve, they have a quick bird show at the start. the crocodile show was really good, letting you know how to be safe around crocodile territory, and facts about them. The crocodile that was out when I went today was Charlie and he put on a show. Make sure to get there and your kids will love it too.

Great for kids and adults! I was really impressed that the food and drinks here didn't cost an arm and a leg and that they had plant based options as well. I love that there is so much space for the animals and that they are clearly well looked after and that the motivation at this Zoo is clearly based on conservation and environmental love.

A massive zoo with plenty to see. Staff were friendly and you can see the place is well organised. Allow plenty of time to see it all, you don’t want to rush. Good to see Steve’s legacy lives on as they have a constant focus on wildlife conservation and how important it is. The zoo hospital also does plenty of great work.

Great place, not just crocs! Rhinos and giraffes impressive and fascinating meerkats in the Africa section. Tigers also good. Take the shuttle bus to get to the Africa section otherwise it's a long walk. It would be good to have more shade on the walks between sections. Did I mention there was a lot of walking? The Steve Irwin museum under the Crocoseum is well worth a visit, lots of interesting displays. The veterinary hospital is at the side of the car park, visit it first or last. If you don't want to pay the extra you aren't missing much - you can see the vets at work on animals through big glass walls. Can't really see too much of the koalas in there. But there is an amusing sign on the wall saying it is the John Oliver Koala Chlamydia ward, donated by Russell Crowe.

An amazing zoo filled with lots of different species. Great facilities as well. However, during these times of COVID-19 I would highly recommend that Australia Zoo creates more effective measures during the main show especially to maintain social distancing standards as at times it felt unsafe for so many people to be sitting so close together throughout the duration of the show. But overall great zoo, definitely will be returning in the future!

If you get sun burnt easy don't bother going.its got nearly no shaded areas. And everything is really far apart .then you nearly don't easily see the animals alot of the time alot of the food is overpriced and place is crowded . I recommend going to see the kangaroos since you can get close to them and it's has trees for shade there tho if you do go anyway.

06/01/21 The zoo itself was pretty average with what seemed like almost 50% of the animals we wanted to see not in their exhibit but the crocodile show was worth the drive out there. The staff involved in that show were incredible & the bird section of the show was actually great, I wasn’t expecting to care about that at all but it was good to see. The Irwin’s were very entertaining & it was cool to see the croc’s. Obviously I don’t know but I hope the animals are treated as well as they can be in captivity & hopefully as they claim it raises awareness & conservation efforts that otherwise wouldn’t be there.

Australia Zoo is unique. A family owned private Zoo is a difficult enough venture but they've also managed to employ some of the happiest and most helpful staff I've ever encountered!! Not the biggest fan of animals in captivity on the whole however if such a thing has to be then Australia Zoo has successfully done it. The animals we saw were beautifully care for and in the best condition I've ever seen, they have their own Zoo hospital that not only specialises in native wildlife but cares for any of the Zoo's critters 24 hours a day. Massive praise for Terri Irwin to have been able to maintain a true icon, employ hundreds of people and have literally thousands of happy customers each year all leaving this beautiful Zoo as we did with a renewed sense of appreciation for our world and the desperate need to conserve what's left! Magnificent!!!!

Crazy how all these years I have lived 30 minutes drive away and never been! I love love love tbis place! First timers here yesterday with Miss 4 and wow! This place is seriously world.class! I have never been a zoo person because you walk around and everything is caged and the animals loom bored etc. But here all the animals are free to roam in their own massive enclosures that look like their natural environments! There is so much I could say here but would take too long! Love also that there is a kids area with water park included in ticket price is was great as the last activity after walking around in the sun. No queues even with the park being full. Plenty to eat and drink with water bubblers throughout. Plenty of facilities, food was great and reasonably priced compared to other theme parks. Thinking of getting yearly passes as we would go here more regularly. Thanks for a great day!

We had a great time and everything was done so well. We were lucky enough to have the Irwin family do the crocoseum experience. Very professional. This is a photo of the Lemurs on Bindi's island.

Great day out with the kids, and just as much fun for adults. Discounts on tix and merch if you are RACQ member, which helped. Good value in real terms. You can fill the whole day, no problem. In hindsight could have bought the 2day ticket as so much to see. Pram was handy for when the littlest one got tired from all the walking. Wear comfy footwear - the zoo has continued to expand! We were there on Australia Day so also saw John Williamson singing. Water refill points throughout - take water bottles. If you've not been, put it on your list!

Love Australia zoo! We've got an annual pass. We go there at least once a month, it's great because there are things for the kids to do when they don't feel like seeing the animals too. They love going there on a hot day to play in the water park and jump on thy bouncy pillow.

Australia zoo is one of my all time favourite places to go. It is huge with a range of international and Australia animals. By going you feel like you are able to support local wildlife as well as their partnered schemes. The staff are friendly and super knowledgeable. They have shows throughout the day that are free of charge and the Croc show is a MUST SEE. Fun for the whole family!

  • 4/5 Ian L. 3 years ago on Google
The zoo was clean and well run by helpful friendly staff. The creatures on display looked well kept and the viewing areas have been well thought out for the visitors. We had lunch there and the food was less than spectacular (it is the creatures that are the draw card after all) so consider taking your own. We enjoyed our day and will be going back for sure.

Amazing zoo with rides and strollers available for differently abled, kids, ppl who get tired. Shows are great. Main attractions are not too far away so if you are a walker and don't mind walking ~10k +- 4/5K steps based on what all you want to see, it can be all covered in one day. With kids and elderly might take a bit longer.

This zoo was a great experience. All exhibits were very clean and offered great views of the animals. The shows were informative, entertaining and made reference to Steve and the wildlife warrior idea. All staff from the zookeepers to the security staff were friendly and helpful. Something very nice was the large amount of trees which meant that even on a hot summers day walking around was comfortable and not tiring.

When u r in Australia u must visit Steve Irwin's zoo. He is my childhood hero. I have grown up watching him on TV. His courage and love for animals had always inspired me. I have been to many zoos but this zoo will always be my favorite. All the animals were loved and happy. Especially the crocodiles(CASPER, AGRO, ACCO) whom Steve brought them as a baby are now 2.9 meters, 600kg teens and putting of an amazing show infront of hundreds of people. I felt like a kid again in that Crocoseum gallery.❤️

Great place to visit and gain knowledge about animals. It's a big place and I recommend all day to see as much as you can. Anyone with young kids should take a pram / stroller or you can hire them at the zoo. We hired a double pull cart to put our 3 and 5 year old in. It's just too much walking for the little ones.

Highly recommended for everyone!. We visited the zoo with our little one who is 16 months and we all had a great time. There is access for prams and wheelchairs everywhere! Prams and wheelchairs can be hired, if for any reason is needed. Facilities are in really good condition: clean, well preserved and identified. Shows are entertaining and suitable for the whole family. Food is really good. We had beef Thai salad and it was fresh and tasty. If you leave nearby, it is definitely worth it to get the annual pass.

It's a passion for them to do what they do and it shows

Hands down the BEST ZOO I've ever been! The Irwins put so much effort, love and care for these animals and the Zoo is definitely a premium resort for wildlife. I'm in my 20s yet I was so happy like a child again seeing these beautiful animals in their habitat. I've never felt this way about zoos, but I felt like coming back again after spending a day there. Please do make sure you make it for the croc feeding show! It was a unique show and really lived up to Steve Irwin's techniques and practices of animal conservation! Love the Irwins and love Australia Zoo!

  • 5/5 Sarah B. 3 years ago on Google
Would definitely recommend the tiger encounter! The keepers are a wealth of knowledge and you can see first hand the amazing bond they have with the big cats. The entire encounter is guided by the big cats and how comfortable they are so the first half is warming them up to you to show you aren't a predator and the second half is filled with LOTS of pats and photos. The keepers ensure that each couple gets equal time with the big cats which was a big relief for us when we found out two couples are in there at the same time. Dont be scared when the website says you need to be able to jump up and run on demand - that's purely so you get out of the way and so the keepers can get between you and the tiger is he/she is getting distressed... Not because you'll have to run for your life! Phew. The only downside is that the tiger encounter costs $400 and you don't get a single photo included... There's also no 'digital-only' photo packages which seems unusual it today's world. Despite this, I'd do the encounter again in a heartbeat.

Its a good day out, alot of animals missing. The elephants are now segways. Definitely better zoos out there if you want to see animals. Presentation of the zoo is wonderful. No sign of the Irwins, yet so much advertising around the zoo is about them, you would think they would show up for 5 minutes a day to the big show in the stadium.

Looks impressive from the outside/on TV. But expensive and a bit crikey everywhere you look. Food is expensive and all pre made and taste of nothing. Even my 3 yr son had just 2 spoons of the $5 cup of vanilla ice cream. That says a lot. Btw take your good walking shoes cos there lots of walking!! Big enclosures for the animal.... sure, all that for 1 wombat? Another 10 mins of walking you see some birds. Another 10 mins some koalas. So much space and so little animals to see.

  • 4/5 Sina M. 3 years ago on Google
Doors were opened at 9am. Make sure to get there around 9 am, because there is only one lane entry to the carpark and car queue could get very busy and long. There are multiple drinking water fountains and toilets around the zoo, so don't stay in long queues just at the entry bathrooms. If you want to take a photo with koala, I suggest to get it done first thing in the morning (10:30 am)because you are fresh, clean and happy and your photo is going to look great :). It's $30 and there are 3 session throughout the day. You can get the full experience of Ozzi wildlife, but to be honest I expected to see various animals from around the globe. but it was very limite for the most famous zoo in Australia. There is a restaurant there with hot and cold foods (about $15 each). The main show started around 13:15 pm. Either have early lunch before the show or have it after the show around 2 pm. You can take food with yourself too. All in all, it was a great day for me and my partner.

  • 3/5 Faith C. 3 years ago on Google
I have to say I was disappointed. I had wanted to go for ages and it was my birthday. Most of the animals I wanted to see were 'off display' which I didn't know until I had paid for. I feel like Darling Downs Zoo was so much better. I got on the safari bus, the spaces are so cramped and it tore my pants badly. When I showed the staff I was told it happens a fair but but they don't do anything to fix the problem knowing it damages clients clothes. No apologies or offers to help. I travelled 1.5 hours to get there so changing pants wasn't an option so I had to work around the park with torn pants which was embarrassing. It was incredibly hot day and there was no air conditioned buildings to rest or anything for helping people to cool. It was also overpriced for drinks with 2 bottles of water costing $11. I wouldn't return or recommend it to be honest which is sad as I grew up with Steve Irwin as a kid.

Our family of 5 had a nice day. Some no shows with the animals, but that is totally understandable. The feeling of the place was that of an international venue, not just localised like other nearby attractions. Very impressed with the restaurant and coffee shop. It could be something out of a Disney location. Plenty to cover for the day and managed it all on a quiet weekday during term time.

  • 3/5 Kristian 3 years ago on Google
'Africa' and the tiger show was very impressive. Staff very knowledgeable. Lady feeding otters was very friendly and provided a lot of interesting information. The rest was a bit meh. Quite a few empty enclosures. Too much advertising. Every opportunity taken to sell something or promote a book or a soemthing else the Irwin's are selling. Food was pricey and dry although it was quick to grab food. The main show was a bit lack luster. More time spent in the show talking than showcasing the animals. At the main cafe a lady in a wheel stair was stuck getting out of the I'll equipped handicapped bathroom. In the main zoo in Australia this is a disgrace. Overall a good day out but I feel the zoo is not in its prime anymore.

Amazing! Fantastic set up. The zoo looks and feels super spacious and green. The animals all have such big enclosures. We've been to a lot of zoos in NSW, taronga in dubbo, taronga in sydney, Western Sydney zoo, Featherdale wildlife park, Australian reptile Park but Australia Zoo would hands down be the best one out of all of them. The keepers feel like they genuinely care, I know that's really subjective and a big call but that was honestly how it felt when we talked to them after the shows. Highly recommend to all kids big and small. Will definitely be back and definitely one of the highlights on our holiday so far

Top spot - Well worth the visit. Great to see Terri, Bindi and Robert still presenting the crocodile show. We were fortunate to see Bindi's last crocodile performance (36 weeks pregnant) on Monday 8th March 2021 - Good luck Bindi. Beautiful Zoo with so many wonderful animals. The staff all look happy. We had a very happy day at Australia Zoo - Thanks.

One of the nicest zoos I have ever visited. The space the animals have is huge. The plant life is amazing. The zoo is very large, there is a free shuttle to get to the giraffes and rhinos. The croc show is also a bird show. This was the highlight of the zoo. My only complaint is that online it is impossible to see the show times to plan your day. The croc show was at 115. The tigers at 11:15. Our research said 12 and 2. We ended up missing the tiger show. It’s really sad that zoos like Adelaide Zoo have tiny spaces for their animals. The giraffes here would have 100x times the space. The entry fee is expensive, but the park is continually being improved. A new water fountain play space has been added for the children. Elephants are coming soon, and they too have a large space. You can see the money being spent on the animals and the guest experience. Fantastic day out.

Water splash park, jumping pillow, koalas to pat and cuddle, kangaroos to pat. Great, well timed shows, large enclosures (walking shoes and a stroller are a must!). Good price food at Crikey Cafe (eg. ~$6 hot dog)

We decided to have an "animal experience" day, including feeding an Echidna, walking and patting 1 year old Sage the sumatrian tiger, cuddling Dexter the 7 year old Koala for about 15minues in a pretty private field away from others, hanging out with Ellie that very chubby wombat and having a private tour of the animal hospital by very knowledgeable and compassionate staff (did you know they take all injured native animals and sea snakes and sea turtles for rehabilitation?). Our trip was organised weeks in advanced by emailing customer service, who organised the entire timetable for me. We were very well looked after, all the staff are lovely and we have the best photos they took of us. We'll be back to do more, as I hear the Rhino is a bit of a cutie during his encounter. While the above does cost extra, it's worth it for a once in a lifetime experience. What I also loved was feeding the kangaroos, they crack me up. So cute and very friendly. Thank you so much for making our day a very happy one.

Was an incredible day out for the whole family. The zoo is immaculate and the animals all have lovely big and well kept habitats. I suggest bringing a picnic and some swimmers or change of clothes for the kids so they can have fun in the mini waterpark. Get there early because it's easy a whole day out. We will be back definitely!

Genuinely impressed with the entire experience from start to end. It was our first time visiting and when we drove in, there were parking attendants who guided us where to park. We were then greeted by happy and friendly staff on the entrance, who explained the layout and attractions. It was a perfect spot to take the family for a day out and the zoo had everything you needed. All amenities (toilets/food and drink/rubbish bins) were conveniently located and you were ever searching for them. It was clean and tidy and the staff throughout the different sections all looked to be happy and approachable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!

I love Australia Zoo. It has a nice, big open feel to it. The animals are well taken care of and the team members are always super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend the show at the Crocoseum - that was a definite highlight of our trip. You can but food there or BYO packed lunch. There's a water playground for the kids and of course a lot of amazing animals to visit. Fun day out!

It has been 15 years since I first visited Australia Zoo with my parents and haven't had the chance to be back until now. As a tourist I was inspired to go to see Harriet but was 2 weeks too late as she had passed away. However, it is amazing to see how much Australia has evolved in these recent years and see how they work with the animals. Now I can enjoy this experience with my own family and a 2 year old daughter. Sadly the elephants were not ready for display so we definitely will be back soon next year!

A return to a fabulous place is always inspiring. Today's visit was just beautiful. The stormy cloudy weather provided a awesome backdrop to the trees and special features of the many exhibits and landscapes created for the animals from around the world who have their home at Beerwah's Australia Zoo. A surreal environment that takes you away from the everyday. There are many wide and spacious walkways around the landscapes and exhibits. For those who wish to return again and again, an annual membership pass is a great way to go. Thankyou to the gracious volunteers who were helpful and friendly.

We visited on a Monday morning, minimal crowds which was great as we could get a good view of the animals. Staff all had smiles on their face, there was always someone close by caring for the animals or tending to their enclosure. Great to see so many lovely tributes to Steve, his son Robert was also there feeding the crocs.

  • 4/5 Adnan S. 2 years ago on Google
It is a huge zoo, a lot of walking and time is required but there are shuttle available to take you places. Keep 4 hrs minimum to explore the zoo especially zoos in Australia are not really cheap to visit for a family. Missed tigers because they were pulled back 30 mins before closing. Africa is interesting but you can only see the animals there from really really far away but happy to see a huge land is available for zebras, giraffes and you kind of get a feel of kenya. Keep plenty of water.

Fantastic day. Took our 2 year old grandson for his 2nd birthday with all the family. He was in his element. Great variety of animals and love the fact you can get so close to them. Food very expensive - I suggest bringing a picnic.

We have an annual pass which works really well for our family of 5. The zoo is a 30 minute drive for us so I take my 2.5 yr old twins at least every fortnight, sometimes weekly, as it's a safe place for them to explore. On weekends we go as a family of 5. The staff are always friendly and interactive with the kids and we always see something new even as regular visitors. On a busy day, the zoo never feels crowded and you can always get up close to the exhibits and animals. The other attractions like the teacup rides, bouncing pillow and water park are all great extra additions to a day at the zoo. The animals look 'happy', their enclosures always look well taken care of and the grounds are always beautifully presented. A great day out and highly recommended!

Loves the place. We spent an entire day from 9am to 5pm and we just saw every enclosure, most shows and had a wonderful time. Plenty of shade, and places to rest while you're getting around. They have shuttles to different section s of the zoo which are themed for the region of animals (e.g. Africa, South East Asia). Thanks crocoseum show was fantastic. Highly enjoyed Australia Zoo.

I have always been a fan of Steve Irwin. I still remember seeing him back in the 90’s when he visited the university I was in. He was an inspiration for me and I was fascinated by his dedication for wildlife conservation. I still remember the 2 movies he was in that I saw in cinema back in the 90’s. Larger than life. He would be so proud of how the Australia Zoo has transformed. (By the way, This is my 2nd visit to the zoo.) Great place to visit if you’re in Sunshine Coast. It showcases a lot of the Australian wildlife. The zoo is large and will take a while to see all the new exhibits. The lion feeding is a must watch. The show at mid day is also worth a watch.

  • 4/5 David M. 2 years ago on Google
Australia Zoo gives you the opportunity to get up and close with a great cross section of Australian mammals, birds and reptiles as well as some exotic species. We enjoyed the large expanse, clean enclosures and beautiful landscaping. We arrived 35 minutes early to the tiger show and just managed to get a seat so get their way before time. Wasn’t too impressed with a chain collar being used to drag one of the tigers into the other enclosure before the show started. Overall nice morning but it has a hefty price tag and now off of the bucket list.

Australia Zoo is a world-class. A visit to this place is truly remarkable and unforgettable. Its features include the interesting animals from Africa and Asia. I would recommend spending a day in this zoo to fully enjoy it. Strong legs and stroller are required for long walks. The food court has a wide range of dietary options which are affordable, and it has wide spaces for dining. The staff are friendly and are happy to answer questions for educational purposes. The shows are spectacular!

Australia Zoo deserves its 5 stars!! Ive been a few times and it's been amazing to see the gorgeous transformation it's taken over the years. It's much easier to get from exhibit to exhibit, food is tasty and served by loving staff. Lines weren't too long and wait was manageable with a 1 year old. Cant wait to come back again!!

This place is spectacular. It's great to see that they've kept Steve Irwin's dreamer live weather conservation of animals as well as rescuing and then healing back2health or training them if they can't go back into wild to be part of a show or just to grow bond with the keepers. It's awesome for kids plenty of walking to which is great exercise I highly highly recommend you visit the zoo

Amazing from start to finish ! The staff were so helpful even before our visit so thank you to the girls in guest services were! Special shout out to the photographers we had the pleasure of sharing our encounter with you captured some amazing moments and put us at ease. Every keeper/handler we met were so educational and informative, they displayed passion and also great customer service. We saw nothing but happy, healthy, stimulated animals! We were lucky enough to do a few animal encounters which were experiences we will never forget. I highly recommend you do the zoo over 2 days (we did) as it is huge and it allows you to really take it all in. Every animal enclosure was clean and spoiled and well taken care of. This zoo was amazing and I highly recommend it. Hope to visit it again in the future. You guys are doing great work

This place beats all the other attractions on the Sunshine and Gold Coast (even the likes of Movie World and Dream-world). All of the exhibits are well maintained. Only wish they improved the audio in the crocoseum as it was hard to hear the show. Food is pricey but was excellent quality and worth it. Will be back again for sure!

In Australia zoo I had a good time with a lot of fun things to do, different animal shown and a variety of animals to look at, pet and feed. You can get bored however, a lot of things are repetitive and the crocodile show which should’ve been the star of it all was very disappointing the guy preforming it dropped the food and it was just slow with more birds than the actual crocodiles. But overall it was a great experience and I would love to go again.

The most fantastic zoo I've been to by far. The exhibits are big and all the animals look healthy. The show by Robert and Terri Irwin with the crocos is just fantastic, a dream come true for my of those who grew up watch Steve Irwin on the tv. The tickets are absolutely worth it.

Great well laid out zoo, you can tell how much the staff love the animals here and the animals all look well cared for and content. There are plenty of amenities and they have a great show in the auditorium. The price is high compared to other big zoos I have visited. Don't come too late you really need a full day to get around.

I absolutely love this zoo! The place is well kept and the animals look healthy and happy. I went to the toilets near the entrance and they were incredibly spacious and I loved the open concept so there's a lot of air flow. Great place for the kids- plenty of toilets, there's a water play area, lots of sculptures for photos/play, little stepping spots at exhibits, plenty of benches to stop at. The only downside to the zoo is the food isn't that great (we had meat pies from the spot near the meerkats), but the slushies we got were super refreshing after all that walking. I would also recommend getting the yearly pass if you plan to come again (worth it if you're coming back more than 2 days throughout the year).

Decided to visit on a whim one morning. Arrived to find a free breakfast setup outside the ticket booths. Had brekkie and meandered in to pay for admission without a line-up. Helpful staff and the zoo has plenty to see and do. They have a shuttle bus that runs from one side to the other so you don't need to walk the entire way if you don't want to. Lots of locations to have a seat and put out a picnic blanket to admire what's going on around. Looking at it, lots of people brought in food as food and drinks at the zoo have the amusement park pricing as expected. I appreciated the many, many drink dispense machines around the zoo. Overall a good day out.

A lovely day out, we were glad we arrived for when the zoo opens as there is a lot to see! A handy shuttle bus is available to help with getting from one end to the other of the zoo. The animals seem well cared for and the keepers have a genuine knowledge and desire for visitors to learn about the animals too. The talks we attended were great! The croc show was the star of course, just make sure you don’t sit in front of the AC vents where the hot air blows out, we were roasting! Tickets were reasonably priced and lots around the zoo to honour Steve!

Brilliant. Zoo worthy. Amazing grounds. Staff are A+ Enclosures are beautiful. Animals well-cared for. Can see the passion, love and conservation credentials in every single thing. A bit 'Crikey' and 1990s vibes with memorabilia but that is part of the charm. Very worthwhile and makes you extremely proud of Irwin family and what they keep aiming for and achieving.

Our third or fourth visit over a period of 15 years and this place just gets better & better! The gardens are stunning, the animal enclosures seem to just blend in and the whole place is beautiful. Really impressed with how clean the entire place is, and all the staff were friendly & seemed very happy. If you are trying to keep costs down, pack yourself a byo picnic. There are drinking fountains about the place too, to top up your water bottle. Such a huge variety of animals, all so well looked after! Really impressed! Try to set aside a whole day (but you could do it in half a day if you didn't linger at every enclosure).

Absolutely amazing wildlife park.. The grounds are kept immaculate and each animal enclosure is designed for their own natural environment and beautifully bordered off seperating the animals from the people, and you can see every animal from different points as their enclosures are very generous size. They have a beautiful animal hospital with everything you could think of to save all animals and the staff are all friendly and amazing. The only thing missing was Steve 🥲 and Chandler done a wonderful and fun job with the crocodile show. It’s a credit to Steve this park, and a credit to the Irwin’s to keep his legacy going.. 🐨🐨🐆🐆❤️❤️

A popular place to see native Australian wildlife, alongside rescued animals from other parts of the globe. The park is quite large and will generally take up most of the day. There's a small water play area for kids during the hotter part of the day, and the layout of the park is great, with animals sectioned into Wetlands, Australia, Africa and more. The shows were okay, although we were expected a little better when compared with Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, amongst others.

Very well presented zoo. Friendly staff, great family vibe; the toilets have great kid’s facilities, very well maintained, clean. Huge variety of animals that seem well looked after. $199 family of four cost. The restaurant was a little in on the expensive side and we were a little disappointed with the crocodile element of the main live show. We did have high expectations. There was an extended ice breaking crowd interaction element and lovely unexpected birds show, and appreciate working with live crocodiles wouldn’t be easy, but the shows ending was a little of a let down.. we were still sitting, wondering if in fact it had ended. It was like the guys suddenly just decided it was the end and the crocodile had had enough. The use of video and extra AV is a nice touch, especially as you get to relive Steve Irwin’s incredible passion for wildlife. Overall well worth it, just a little let down by the croc show, probably due to having had such high expectations
