A decent zoo with a good collection of animals from across the globe. Accessible pathway for prams and wheelchairs to all areas makes the experience enjoyable for families and elderly alike. Clean toilets are a plus alongside mist cooling functioning at multiple locations throughout the park. Multiple food options and a ferries wheel are also welcome addition. In summer it's best to go in morning as else most animals retreat to their cooler living areas when temperature rises. Plenty of free parking on site is good. Overall a good zoo to spend 3 - 4 hours with family.

This is a fantastic experience for both the photographer in you or to just enjoy looking at animals from around the world. Although this zoo is relatively small when compared to Western Plains Zoo… it’s well laid out and creates possibilities of easily checking out particular exhibits multiple times. The staff were all extremely helpful with answering our random questions… which made us feel welcome. If you have kids and are pushing a pram, you will find the complete site easy to navigate as most of the site is fairly level. I love the boardwalk which takes you high above the animals creating a different point of view. Back to the design… whoever decided on creating the covered areas should be commended. This provides a little shade or cover from the elements. Our favourite site which we heading back to 6 times was the Baboon exhibit. There is a lot going on there with a couple of infants really testing the parents and stealing the show. Definitely worth the annual pass which is economically priced. Cheers for a great day out 👍

This zoo is amazing! I’ll point out all the things that make visiting this zoo a great experience - It’s all flat, no hills to walk up on a hot day. They have shaded seating everywhere. They have misters everywhere spraying a fine cool mist to cool you down on a hot day. Well staffed with staff at the entry points to the indoor sections ensuring not too many people are in there so everyone can have a good look at the animals. Good food options that are reasonably priced. Good signage. Well written facts about the animals that are not too lengthy. Clean, open and green animal ‘enclosures’. Generally clean. Well laid out. Great selection of animals to see. Easy and free parking. Will be back for sure! Very happy with our visit and cannot find any negatives about the venue.

A world-class, outstanding, modern zoo. The design is fantastic and specifically achieves getting people as close to the animals as safely as possible. They offer extensive up close and personal animal interaction options. And, they have all the major animals from around the world. Truly one of the best zoos in the world. Do not miss it if you get the chance!

"My experience at Sydney Zoo was nothing short of exceptional, leaving me compelled to share my positive impressions on Google Maps. From the moment I entered, it was evident that the zoo prioritizes both animal welfare and visitor satisfaction. The enclosures are thoughtfully designed, mirroring the natural habitats of the animals. It's evident that the well-being of the residents is paramount, and the zoo's commitment to conservation and education shines through. The diverse range of species, from iconic Australian wildlife to captivating international residents, makes the visit not just entertaining but also educational. The interactive exhibits and informative signage provide a deeper understanding of each species, fostering a sense of connection and empathy. The zoo's emphasis on conservation efforts is commendable, creating awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity. The staff's dedication to both the animals and visitors is noteworthy. Friendly and knowledgeable, they contribute to the overall positive atmosphere. The cleanliness and organization throughout the facility reflect a commitment to maintaining high standards. The zoo's layout encourages a leisurely stroll, allowing visitors to absorb the sights and sounds at their own pace. The breathtaking views of Sydney Harbor add an extra layer of charm to the experience. In conclusion, Sydney Zoo offers a well-rounded and enriching adventure for all ages. My Google Maps review aims to echo the sentiment of a memorable visit—a testament to the zoo's dedication to creating a positive and impactful wildlife experience in the heart of Sydney."

This zoo is well planned out. From the moment you enter and walk around you have animals on display in large enclosures all around you. Very easy to find, thanks to large and close enclosures. This zoo is very pram friendly to. There are shaded benches throughout plenty of cafes and toilets everywhere you go. And souvenir stores for the kids. Please refer to photos for more, highly recommend this zoo

What a credit to owners, managers, keepers and anyone involved in creating this amazing haven for all the beautiful creatures great and small living within. Even my 77yo Mum made her way around freely and comfortably. We loved this fantastic Zoo, and can't wait to get back there! Food was good, pleasantly priced, and all areas were easily accessible even by wheelchair. Thank you for an incredible time.

Easy online ticket purchase, very reasonable prices and booking times. Free convenient parking. We enjoyed the layout of the trail. The best day to visit is a sunny day during winter as most of the animals are outside. The zoo is well equipped to manage massive crowds. Less bustling on weekdays. Great logical flow through the exhibits. Plenty of rest areas and washrooms throughout. Completely pram accessible and easy to navigate. Food carts were also positioned well. The cafe has great food choices, something for everyone. Great visibility of the animals without feeling too intrusive. Animals seem to be well taken care of. Animals were active so we got to see nearly all the different species. Staff were fantastic and the info talks were great. Little one really enjoyed the animals and it’s a nice long walk in the zoo. Highly recommend visiting this zoo.

First time here, my kids enjoyed it. It was a busy day luckily it wasn't as hot as a normal summers day. We took food and drinks with us in a beach trolley. Food and drinks and ice cream are available but pricey. Good layout, flat surface every where and easy to get around. Highlights were the chimps, monkeys and lions. Love the idea with the bridge. Also if it gets a bit too hot the reptile area is nice and cool with air con. Had a few shaded areas and picnic tables to stop by. The kids loved the ferris wheel. All and all spent about 3hrs here. We went after noon and most animals were tucked away and asleep, prob best to go in the morning or late afternoon during feeding time. Parking is for free and easy access off the highway.

One of the most beautiful zoos that I have come. It is very nice that a lot of different animals have their home in here. The staff is very friendly and supportive with tourists and animals living in here as well. They have many species such as tiger, koala, kangaroo, and so on. It is not very far from the city of Sydney, that you can enjoy the wild life of those lovely species that live in here. Highly recommend to come here and enjoy!!!!

Took the wife and kids to this zoo. Great experience. Easy online ticket purchase. Reasonable prices. Enjoyed the simple layout. Animals seem to be well taken care of. Plenty of rest areas throughout. Food carts were also positioned well. Ate lunch here and kids enjoyed the food choices. Workers were professional and caring while dealing with wandering kids.

Amazing new zoo in the heart of Western Sydney. Very easy parking. This zoo is extremely pram friendly and exhibitions are easy for toddlers to enjoy at their height. Although it is small, they have done well to provide lots of shade and water misting areas for hot days like today, toilets and areas for food and drink. Definitely would recommend visiting for young families.

It's better to book your ticket online for a 10aud off and quick entry. It has convenient free parking. The Zoo is well managed and equipped. Easy trail flow. Heaps of rest areas and cafes around with plenty of great food to choose from. There are also rides for kids to enjoy. We had fun seeing all the lovely animals and long walks in the zoo. Staff are so nice and friendly. I highly recommend visiting this zoo.

Was a great day trip with the family to Sydney Zoo. The zoos layout made it easy to navigate and traverse. The exhibits were all well kept, and the animals all looked in good health. The cafeteria did leave the food choices a bit lacking with the hot dog rolls that once cooled down turned solid. The chips and drinks were nice, though baring that it was a fun time to spend walking around with the family seeing all the animals that inhabit the bus lands around our homes!

The zoo has been planned extremely well, it's an easy walk and can be finished in under 3 hours (with a toddler). The exhibits have been very well prepared and allows great views of the various animals. We arrived at opening which I would strongly recommend as the lines to enter when we left at 12 were at least 300m long. I'd also recommend visiting the aquariums first as it gets quite cramped later in the day Try to eat prior or bring food, the cost of food is ridiculous (only negative of the day). 4 nuggets, chips and a drink for $14

Very good in terms of variety. Most of the animals seemed well looked after. Decent facilities. The elephant looked like he wanted some water it was a hot morning but he probably got that soon after we saw him. Some better signage to show you which way to go...we doubled back a few times...Overall a great wildlife park.

The animals and Zoo itself were pretty good, probably more suitable for younger families, though. My biggest issue was with the absolute state of the dining areas. I'm not entirely sure what the standard is, but I'm telling you it was a disgrace! The place was filthy with not a clean table on site, and probably more food and rubbish on the ground than on the tables and not a staff member in sight keeping it clean.

Great zoo, easy to park and off main highway. No trouble getting tickets. If going more than once in a year buy the annual pass. Saturday was busy to get in but the park felt spacious and easy to walk around. Weather was showers but with umbrella the animals were more active than I would otherwise have thought. Great indoor reptile and shark/ aquarium enclosures. Closer views of koala than Taronga zoo. Overall great experience

We were pleasantly surprise by the range of animals and the setup. It is beautifully setup with a lot of animals that I didn’t expect to see. They have a beautiful walk that goes around the park with plenty of seating areas for families with kids to sit relax enjoy and kids have a play around. There are a lot of staff around to help answer questions give direction. The checkin was simple and seem less order your tickets online get a QR code scan it at the gate and that’s it. I highly recommend everyone to go there and check it out. I would certainly be back there just to walk around, relax and enjoy looking at these magnificent animals. They have tigers, lion, cheetah, different species of monkeys, wild dogs, elephant, meerkats as well as so many native animals. Love it.

Perfectly Sized for a quick trip. The zoo takes around 2 - 3hrs at a comfortable pace. The enclosures have been designed to ensure the animals are all easy to view, even if they are resting. If you have small children this zoo is perfect, all the favorites are here, the layout is flat and as you walk there's never a moment when you cant see an exhibit. Cafes are onsite and there's plenty of parking. A really nice place to get your zoo fix without taking all day.

Great medium/small zoo with vast variety of animals, great for a family day out. Great to see animals up close and in more of an open environment. proper signage would be great so there no fussing and walking about to much. Food was decent but more on the pricey side, overall it was a great experience. Visited 2 times so far.

Definitely a great day out with the family! Highly recommend even with toddlers cause there has space to walk and all mostly very even and pram accessible. The animals seem few but they have set themselves up for a great number of future developments. The animals looks happy and healthy. The zones are easy to navigate without the map and the areas are all well designed. There are undercover spots unlike other zoos in Sydney. They are well appointed with water mists for hot days and are a great reprieve from the sun. Well done guys! The walking bridge is unique and awesome. Seeing the ostrich, giraffe, lions and wild dogs from different angles. The playful elephants were a treat and highly recommended. We thought they were not there and were initially sad. But it was wonderful to see them pushing each other around. I didn't get time to eat at the venue. But the burgers looked and smelt fantastic and were everywhere. Patron favourite. Post COVID, there are schedules but once inside and after noon, it gets hectic and very minimal distance out in open areas and inside buildings. It can be hard as you can imagine.

Always a great experience at this zoo. Flat walk ways which is great for anyone who has issues with mobility or pushing prams, the staff members are always friendly and helpful, the animals appear to be very happy, misting shaded areas and misting fans all over the place. Good day out for the kids

Easy to get around, nice and flat. No stairs or steep hills. Saw all of the animals, some up quite close. The staff were very friendly and told us about some of the animals. Amenities were clean and the coffee was good. It took us about 3 hours to get around and look at everything at a leisurely pace. There were plenty of shaded seats along the way and some shaded areas had misters for the warm weather.

Great day out for the kids! Purchased tickets online to save some money. We went for the dinosaur safari, and the kids loved it! The dinosaurs were spread all over the zoo, so it kept the kids entertained the whole zoo visit. Some of the dinosaurs moved (which was pretty cool!) It took us about 3 hrs to see all the animals, and that included having a quick lunch. We went in at 9 am and there weren't too many people around. Highly recommend visiting during the Dinosaur Safari! We also went on the Ferris wheel ($8/person/ride, kids under 3 free). The kids loved it! Great view of the zoo.

Medium sized zoo with a great reptile display and large variety of animals for its size. Took about 2 hours to leisurely explore the zoo. Went during Summer with the free Ferris wheel rides - was very worth the time. Super hot, but there were mist sprayers everywhere. Most Animals in the zoo were able to be spotted. The boulevard eatery is a nice place to eat and rest, but no air con. Most clean and good amenities around the zoo.

Very easy Zoo to get around, I love taking photos and I found that getting a decent photo of some of the animals a little difficult. It was a very hot, humid day so it was wonderful to have the fans and mists spread around the park to help keep cool. The main cafeteria was not air conditioned which is not great, especially on hot days like today. The food was was WAY overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. I had a hot dog which was Luke warm and hot chips which were nice. A friend had a hamburger which did not taste good at all and looked very unappealing. Otherwise, it was a great day and I was able to get around the whole zoo very easily. The only animals I wasn’t able to see was the tigers and the red pandas which was unfortunate.

I've always found visiting zoos to be fascinating, and my experience at the Sydney Zoo was very similar. I could see practically every animal except for the Tiger. The zoo is not as large as one might think, but it does have good space and is very well maintained. You can visit it in half a day without having to miss anything. The zoo map at the entrance makes it much easier to plan things out. A positive experience at the end of the day.

New clean zoo, not as big as Taronga. You can cover the whole area within 3 hours. We went on a sunny day so the most of the animals were either sleeping or just sitting under a shade. Plenty of parking available. Various shades, sitting benches, toilets, and rubbish bins throughout the path. To my surprise, it has a multi-faith prayer room near to the exit as well, which is quite commendable and appreciated.

A really enjoyable day out for the whole family. One of the better features of the park is if you have mobility issues like myself you are able to hire a motorised scooter for the day. There are also pram and wheelchair hire. All the staff members they're extremely friendly. Sydney zoo is clean well-maintained with many of dining options available. Although if you are wanting to pack a picnic lunch the zoo does permit that unlike a lot of places these days. As long as there is no alcohol or Glass Containers or bottles been brought onto the site.

Zoo is quite well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing worth giving a thought is variety and number of animals they have. It has a nice gift shop for the souvenirs and a restaurant too for getting refreshed. Got drinking water facilities at a few places. The indigenous talk part is also worth it.

This is an awesome zoo for a nice family day out. Lots of shaded areas, water misters keeps you cool on hot days, animals seem well looked after. Parking close to the zoo is limited so the earlier you are the better. I would recommend at least 2 hours to appreciate and maximise your time at the zoo especially if you have keen young ones that love animals. Nice touch with the Ferris wheel attraction. $8 per person 3 yrs and over.

Finally got to visit this place over the weekend, was overall a great day. It's large but not so big that you're exhausted by the end of it, most of the walk is flat which was great as we had a pram. Food was pretty good. If you decide to go on a weekend or school holidays I would recommend going early as the line to enter was very large as we were leaving around lunch time.

Good confined place for a nice relaxing time for kids. Since it’s a small place one is guaranteed to see all the animals. I took my 2 yr old and he was really happy to see the elephant and meerkats. The place has lot of eateries and shady areas.

Great new zoo in Western Sydney. Enclosures are very open and allow great visibility of all the animals. Unlike other zoos where the animals feel very far away. Sydney Zoo has managed to get a great balance of creating an exhibit that benefits the animals and also the customers. There is an open section of the zoo where the animals roam freely and can be interacted with by the public. With the zoo being new the facilities are all in good condition. Definitely worth checking out.

The Sydney Zoo is catering to a younger population. There are lots of large animal toys in the park. No cages, so you can observe animals from the bridges and transparent fences. There are plenty of food options available. Be aware that the paths are not paved, and it gets extremely dusty when the wind picks up. Wear some sunglasses and get glasses for your kids as well.

I’ve visited this zoo 3 times now and it has been great to watch them grow. Overall in would argue this zoo delivers when it comes to a modern approach of looking after wild animals. Sitting and watching the meerkats, penguins and the emus in their respective enclosures are genuine highlights. When the weather is perfect it really is a wonderful experience. Though there’s a noticeable absence of shady area to sit on very hot days - of which there are numerous. I’ve never eaten here because we always pack a lunch (go team) so I can’t comment on the food / facilities. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re a local or if you just really love zoos. Say hi to the Red Panda for me.

An excellent zoo, so close to home. Staff were very friendly throughout the entirety of the zoo. Food was reasonably priced, which is always a good thing when it come to attraction based venues. Animals were easily visible and the enclosures appeared to have ample space for animals to move about freely. Covid protection was covered very well through strategic management all over the zoo. And staff reinforced the measures by regularly reminding customers. Only thing I wish to see improve in this park is more covered areas so that we don't spend so much time in the sun. As it was winter that we attended, it wasn't so bad but I could see myself melting under the sun given a hot day should occur. All in all a great zoo, with plenty of variety, friendly staff, and safe procedures during these dark times. Will return regularly with our upgraded annual pass.

A great addition to western sydney. Not the biggest but definitely got some fabulous highlights. Perfect time right now with the capybara pup. It was awesome to watch the pup go for a swim with parents. Aquarium with big Barra's were a hit with the children. Loved the African painted dogs. Very spacious throughout. Other attractions include the Baboons, Arabian camels, emus, wombat, lions, orangutan, hyenas and farm animals. Pretty good cafe's too. Nice play area for children. Plenty of parking, nice gift shop. Great little zoo, easy with young kids as no stairs/ hills. The kids loved it and not as big as taronga so could probably do the whole zoo in 3hrs comfortably. Currently no keeper talks though so that's a bit of a bummer, but the way it's set up you get quite close to the animals and the kids loved that. Smaller than the taronga ones we've been to but good variety of animals and really good for the younger kids that may get tired in the bigger places. Pram friendly as all flat surfaces, there is also wheelchair, pram and ride on carts avail for hire.

A perfectly designed zoo.. so many animals that are hard to find. There's 4 lions, 3 elephants, 3 hyenas, 2 giraffes, 2 zebras, 2 cheetahs, 2 tigers and many other animals. The Australian animals section is fascinating. Many types of snakes and rodents, plenty of relaxed kangaroos, joyful wallabies, attention seeking emus and the well loved koalas. Seating areas Infront of the animals is a great idea. Small cafes all around the zoo, a lot of restrooms and many water filling stations. I loved the place, the annual family membership is well worth it! Definitely my favourite zoo!

Ferris wheel is near kids zone which cost $7 per person. Lots of food kiosk and one big clean food court. Recommended. Annual Membership is affordable too. $109 for 1 adult and 2 kids.

Instead of Secret Santa this year, we decided to do our kids Christmas Party at the new Sydney Zoo, I am so happy we did, it was such a wonderful day, the kids had a blast. I particularly enjoyed the layout, I thought the map was very thought out and I loved the while visiting 'Australia' the native animals were free to roam in such a spacious area, the children enjoyed being able to pet the emus and see the kangaroos and wallabies in their home. It was also rather heart warming to see how large and natural all the enclosures are, especially for the bigger species in the zoo. They deserve that! 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

The enclosures are large and great viewing platforms and spots to get the most out of your visit. The only disappointment was the bull shark seemed to be a myth and was not there.

Had a great time. Busy 31st 2020. But entry was not busy as they welcome 1 hours interval. Covid safe regulations practiced well by the staff and they remind regularly about the distancing. Kids loved the day. Spend 5 hours but could finish it with 4 hours time.

Good place for kids in Western Sydney. Should take enough time to visit and enjoy. Plenty of available places to take rest and also enough spaces in the cafe. Wheel was awesome to ride and see Western Sydney, kids enjoyed a lot. Aquarium is relatively small but but blue light at the corners attracted kids. Was able to touch emu in Australian part and also good to see Penguin and some African animals. A good place to visit if you are in Western Sydney.

We were greeted by very cheerful guides/volunteers upon entry. Hop on and off buses to various animal look out points. I find its better to stay on the bus if u want to see the cats and hyenas. You’ve gotta have a very keen eye to be able to spot the cheetah under a shady tree or the Lions taking a nap during the day. The guides on the bus give very good commentaries on the animals and it’s habitat, so are the animal keepers during show times. I suggest you bring your own bottled water and some snacks. Food can be quite expensive, even if you use the concession card. Covid19 hygiene and social distancing in place, although the dining area can get quite crowded at lunch time. I find the Giraffe feeding enclosure is about the closest you can get to see the animals. Most times we were watching from a distance. We did not do the 360 experience. Overall, a very pleasant (cool) day to visit. 1h drive from the city.

I had the chance to visit the zoo just before opening a while ago. A lovely park with reasonable space and a nice range of animals to see. The dining facilities were decent and the staff were helpful also. The zoo is quite far (for myself particularly) but makes for a nice whole day family outing. Highly recommend and I will be back for another visit.

We ordered our tickets online but still had to queue about 15min. Staff were very attentive and tried their best to get people in as fast as they could. The tracks were very flat and it was a nice comfortable walk around the zoo. The settings per cage were amazing. The only downside is that the range of animals was very limited but they had a few marsupials that we haven't seen before. Toilets were super clean and loved the solar bin units. There were plenty of rest stops with shelter which was nice. Food was very expensive though. The reptile area was cool. The aquarium wasn't worth going in. Overall, good to go if you haven't been. Lids had a ball.

Surprisingly good. Even though it appears small, we ended up spending 4 hours there. Good picnic spots. Good for young kids 3yr+. Only negatives, is the price of kiosk and cafe items. And only a small amount of shade. Bring your own food and drink. Bring a big hat in summer!

Lovely day at the Sydney Zoo, nice and flat so it’s easy to walk, no hill climbs, plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, lots of people were ordering coffee so it took a while but the baristas are only human. Even the gift shop was priced reasonably so we picked up more things than we normally would at other zoos we have been to.

Sydney Zoo is a great zoo to head to. It is flat, which makes it so much better for small children and older people, or those with mobility issues. There are cafes spread around the zoo, so you can stop at many places. Most enclosures have seating available. There are misting guns under regular shelters for keeping cool on those hot days, and they work really effectively as a break between the hot sun. I loved it so much, I became a member, and plan to go regularly with my toddler.

Loved it! Included a couple of animals not often seen at other zoos around Sydney, in areas that appeared (to the layman) to balance animal comfort and visibility very well. Really nice open air, flat layout thoughtfully considered to provide people respite and easy circuits back round to the main seating area so I imagine it would be quite child/disabled/elderly friendly. Look forward to seeing what else they will offer in future!

Fabulous place for young and old not a overly ĺarge place so easily to move and get around. The animals looked familiar in their surroundings and were enjoying the beautiful sunshine. The cafeteria had a great food selection was a little over priced and having the burgers and chips already prepared waiting for them to be bought and sold wasn't a good idea as our burgers were rather cold and chips were only warm. The entire experience of the zoo was greatly enjoyed and having it so close to home was even better. 👌

Lovely open zoo, with huge, natural habitat enclosures for the animals. Great aquarium and reptile house too. Level footpaths make it good for pushchairs or wheelchairs. There are also plenty of benches scattered around, as well as refreshment stations. Kids playground and coffee shop.

It was our first experience in zoo in Sydney. We had fun. On an average it's good place to spend a day with kids. Positive - good collection of animals and lots of activities to do for kids. U can definitely spend all day here. Negative - the most important one for me was that bathroom were in dire condition. Lots of them dint had any tissue paper. The floors were dirty Second was even after spending good amount of money on tickets the internal attractions like Farris wheel or snow glob activities were all paid. I found that little expensive. Buy overall I happy with it.

This is a nice zoo, well laid out and overall a good family experience. Even with a full parking lot it wasn’t too crowded…for a weekend in July. If you’re expecting a menagerie of amazing animals, I recommend the Australian Reptile Park or even Symbios; there are the basic big animals you expect to find at a zoo but that’s about it. The rides are fun but again, pretty basic considering the size of the zoo and ticket price. Speaking of prices, if you think you’ll be back more than one time in a year the annual pass is slightly more expensive than a one-time visit.

First time we visited Sydney Zoo with our grand daughters. Bought our tickets online which are cheaper & no waiting. Best to come around 9.30am. Plenty free parking. Loved it as their were no stairs or hills easy to get around with prams. Plenty of areas to get cooled off with the fan mists on a hot day! The zoo is clean, animals are set out in a great environment. Even have an Aquarium which there is plenty to see.

The Sydney Zoo at the Eastern Creek is amazing 😍 It's so big and full of animals 👍 The place is big. You walk around in different continents and regions in the zoo to see the different animals. It's a great layout and plans everywhere to find where the animals are. The staff are helpful. This is one of the best zoos in Sydney. Highly recommend checking this place out if you love animals 😀 It's fantastic 👏

Such a great zoo to take the lil kiddies and visiting family to. Small enough to walk around and see everything without getting tired, yet big enough to host such a wide range of animals, from exotic African animals, to our own beautiful Australian wildlife and marine life. All with amazing views too! Highly recommend it!

A great addition to the western suburbs of Sydney. We got to see most of the animals as the weather was beautiful. The only bad thing was the high prices for food. It was a very nice day out with the family, I strongly recommend.

Great new addition to Sydney's landscape. This zoo is great in so many ways. Easy access off the motorways, heaps of parking, great collection of animals in massive enclosures and efficient and very helpful staff make this a great day out. However, them need to improve their food and beverage offerings because they're a bit limited in choice, although they're good in taste and value. And the meerkat enclosure adjacent to the dining area is a stroke of genius! Well done!

I won't say it's all bad. The zoo seemed well kept but the space didn't seem enough for the animals.. such a big land they are on and yet the whole car park they have is bigger than the zoo it self. The food was a rip off $20 for a burger that had burnt buns, was cold and loaded with chips.. fish & chips was anything but worth the $20, the fish was small, dry and hard to chew on and again loaded with chips.. the salad bowl wasn't the best either. I mean I am happy to the pay the price but at least make the food decent and enjoyable. Everything in there is literally overpriced. Is it worth the $80 - $100 you pay to get in.. NO.

I can't say it was terrible but it wasn't the greatest experience either. The was a total lack of social distancing with huge crowds. Heaps of children and adults were climbing on and entering areas that violated covid rules. Half the animals were asleep hiding and didn't get to see them. Watched 2 poor emu's being harassed non-stop by not just children, but by adults that went into the areas they weren't supposed to just to exhaust the poor things more. Was actually a very big let down. Not worth the time or money. 2 things I won't be wasting here again. Toronga zoo is way better by far. Definitely has alot of room for improvements.

We've been to all the Zoos in Sydney, compelled to write a review about this zoo, as it's the best. Well maintained, active animals and the best part is the places where you can see those animals not congested, good shades and easy to fill up drinking waters across various parts. The best place to go with Family.

Great place to take the kids. Amazing animals to see. Well worth the money, and drive up. Tips: 1. Wear Runner shoes (walking on mostly rocks/dirt) 2. Pack lunches for the family (costly cafes) 3. Wear hats & take umbrella (sun can be brutal) 4. Charge all phones/cameras etc (well worth the shots) 5. Buy tickets Online (cheaper, and if you arrive after 1pm they sometimes will refuse entry because their apparently sold out? like they did my family on Saturday *12/12/20* - lucky my husband stood there infront of the guy and bought our tickets than and there 😂)

Great for a family day out. It's a small zoo, so don't expect to see another Taronga. But it has most of the famous animals that you would want to see. There is also a sand pit in a children playground, and some monkey bars too. There is a bit of a wait to stand in line for both the aquarium and the reptiles. The aquarium is not that good, but the reptiles had some good ones in there. There is also a ferris wheel, with a view of the whole park. So if you want to spend a couple of hours, or three tops, then it would be great for you.

Sydney Zoo is an impressive new zoo on a compact patch of ground. Its all done at leisurely and effortless pace. The highlight has to be the Nocturnal area, with an amazing selection of snakes, frogs and marsupials. We did feel the elephant was lonely by herself, not sure if there is a family to join her. Make sure you spend some time with the Tassie Devils 😈 if you're lucky they will show you their sharp teeth. Easy to get to, plenty of parking, reasonable food offerings. This place is sooo good. I would recommend it over Taronga zoo. Very clean, spacious, friendly and the animals are very up close with alit of variety with more coming. They look happy and have space to roam. Much closer to home too..would recommend and visit again

It is a nice zoo. Not too big and easy to walk around. Lot of restrooms and eating corners with heaps of sitting area. Felt bit sorry for the animals and the enclosed places are too small for the animals. Crocodile was enclosed in a water space which was small like a bath rub. Very less room for him to move around.

    Pretty good. Easy 2hr walk

  • 2/5 Samir S. 3 years ago on Google
Not impressed at all after the visit. Social distancing practice is in place, which is great, but not enough shade for stretched queues, leaving visitors baking on the sun waiting to enter some areas. The wheel ride costs extra money on top of the expensive entry ticket and the food in cafes as well as items in the gift shop are higly overpriced. We couldn't see half of the animals as they hid from the eyes.Very overcrowded inspite of being Monday which destroys all the efforts done by staff to distance people in the queue. Probably just unlucky time of the day, giving 2 stars only for the zoo staff being polite and friendly.

Decent place to bring the young ones. Not enough shaded areas on hot days, so be sun smart. No shaded parking. Food and drinks are exxy as expected, but food is decent. Have to pre-book online, though still massive crowds despite the limitations on entry.

Great zoo very spacious easy to walk around all animals easy to see up close plenty of viewing areas lots of seats and resting areas cooling down and water refilling stations no hills to walk up and down path loops around plenty of hot and cold food and had a great day out with the family we will certainly take the family back there again and again.

  • 3/5 Robert A. 3 years ago on Google
Now the exibits are not too bad although some animals were not out on opening. In a time of covid and social distancing and not to mention the note on their web site when booking. Around the Lion enclosure and the elephant enclosure way too many peope were gathering together. No distancing and no masks were being worn in those areas. Lots of sanitation points around the park though. Would i do it again, probably not.

The zoo was a lot smaller than I expected. (Taronga zoo is lot bigger) Zoo is very new and overall we had a good day. Make sure you buy tickets online because of covid. The Ferris wheel cost an additional $8 per person. Plenty of toilets and eateries around the zoo. Zoo is overall very neat and clean. You can hire baby prams at the front. Heaps of family enjoying a day out and having get togethers in the eating areas. Reasonably priced.

Loved it, kids enjoyed it too. It was quite a hot day but it is very well planned with all the shades and water fans etc. Only complaint I have is the food...very expensive - $20 for a hot dog meal!! Though the pricing is in line with any other theme parks etc.

Didn't really know what to expect walking in but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a decent size especially if you just want a quick trip around however if you are looking for more variety Taronga is definitely the place to go. Was a bit disappointed I only saw one water refill station around, yes it isn't a big place but this was a let down especially when waiting in lines but the shades and water mists/fans throughout was a nice touch especially on a hot day. Also I had a few questions that sadly had to go unanswered as there were no staff around to ask. I understand with Covid it may be difficult to have full staff on but it wouldn't hurt to follow Tarongas example and offer volunteer opportunities so at least information can be on offer to guests. These few tweaks would have made all the difference to the day but was still and enjoyable day.

Thoroughly enjoyed a visit with the family. Well thought out zoo, not too big, with good covid-safe practices. We booked for the 9am slot on a weekend so parking was a breeze, it was less crowded and there was no queue for entry. We spent 2 hours here including short breaks. That allowed us to cover all areas. (By the time we left just before noon there were queues and car park was very full. ) They've certainly taken advantage of the vast space they have, which means spacious areas for the animals, and for us humans it meant wide walkways, multiple vantage points to see each exhibit, various rest areas and less crowding. Also lots of man-made shade and misting fans everywhere to keep cool on hot days. A very nice and different addition to the other zoos and wildlife places we already have in Sydney.

Nice zoo and very Covid safe . Easy to get around and plenty of shade. Most of the animals were active which was great! Couple downsides , bull shark, we didn’t see one , does it exist there ? This zoo may be a little small, but the enclosures are very good. Quite clearly the animals are comfortable and well looked after. Many of the enclosures allow visitors to see the animals from several different vantages, offering excellent photo opportunities. Very kid friendly, and all the paths are level and easily traversed, even for those with difficulty in walking. We visited during the pandemic and the facilities for safe and clean interaction are available everywhere. We will be coming back.

Decent little zoo in western Sydney. The zoo isn't huge and you could see everything (at a decent pace) within 2 hours, but add an hour (or less) if you want to stop and eat too. The entire zoo is relatively flat in terms of terrain, so it's accessible for everyone with no big hills to walk up or down. Gravel / dirt paths everywhere with shelter stations spread out across the zoo that have water mist sprays to keep you cool in the heat. Plenty of animals and a good layout to be able to see them, even for little children. The aquarium was great and the section for the nocturnal animals was impressive for a zoo of their size. There are plenty of places to eat and the range of food catered for pretty much all dietary requirements and there's ample on-site parking. The gift shop had a lovely range of items. Toilet facilities were really good and scattered throughout the park. Clear signage in general too. Recommended for a shorter day out or for those with young children (because we all know that attention spans and patience only goes so far). Their annual pass prices are reasonable and if it's somewhere that you pass regularly, that might be a good option for you, as it's less pressure to get your ticket value in one day out.

Sydney zoo is incredible. The enclosures have been well thought about and look similar to what each animal would have in the wild. There are plenty of animals including lions, tigers, elephants and monkeys. The walk is easy with nothing too uphill and it is relatively flat and pram friendly. The zoo also has an eating area right next to the meerkats, so you can eat your lunch and enjoy watching the meerkats run around. The Ferris wheel is also a nice touch.

Fantastically modern clean and spacious smaller scale zoo! The enclosures seem to be designed in such a way that the animal can be easily viewed, we were lucky enough to see most animals actively going about their day! Giraffes lions tigers various different species of monkeys to name but a few, the aquarium is great, the queue to the nocturnal animals was a little to long so we decided to give it a miss, So happy this zoo is pram and wheelchair friendly as it's pretty much all flat, the staff are helpful and informative, plenty of readily available FREE parking... My children loved our day out as did I, so thankful we bought those annual passes most definitely worth it! Well done Sydney zoo keep up the great work!

Loved Sydney Zoo. Plenty of parking space, very pram friendly as it's mostly flat, huge viewing areas meant we got to see all the animals easily despite being there on a Sunday, plenty of food options (Including Halal options) and seating, and surprisingly good barrista coffee. Place definitely has a "new" vibe to it, and it's kept clean with plenty of sanitiser stations. It's smaller than Taronga, but still quite impressive in size, and more practical and convenient if you want to spend a good afternoon exoring animals and having a nice stroll.

Pretty good, but bigger pens than Taronga for animals but there was some sizeable queues for the aquarium and aussie animal area. Didn’t bother with aquarium as we waited ages for indoor aussie reptiles already. but overall the zoo is good. And we saw the majority of it. It’s bigger than Taronga. But not by much. But biggest and best zoo I’ve been to is still the Lowry Park zoo in Tampa Bay, Florida. You want to see a massive zoo, go there, you literally go on a safari to see everything.

While not as large as Taronga, this zoo is a great place to go, especially with young kids. It's mostly flat, making for easy walking, and the animal habitats are huge. It's great to see different animals, like Zebras and ostriches, coexisting happily. Good selection of food too, including some healthier choices like sushi in amongst the burgers and hot dogs.

Great place to spend the day. I'm always for supporting and preserving animals and the environment. I like a lot of the programs that Monarto and Adelaide Zoo are part of. I'm all for raising money when its being spent well, but it should be up to the individual. The park fees are reasonable and the items for sale and the experiences are reasonable, but the food prices are disgraceful and out of touch which in my eyes is seriously gouging its visitors. I'm in favour of supporting the staff and paying them a decent wage, but this isn't the airport which i also find shocking. 5.70 for a bottle of water or a soda is poor form. Everything else that I'm aware of with Monarto I'm happy with. I would rather pay for for other things that be ripped off so badly for food and drink.

We had a wonderful day @ Monarto, you get up close to the animals in the bus. We did the Lions 360 & loved it. Every guide we had has so much knowledge & happy to impart it. We also lucked out getting a guide from Tanzania & Kenia doing our Lion 360. Funny, informative & with real life experience. Thank you Monarto we will be back

Really enjoyed my first time there. There were some terrific staff giving out information I didn't know I'd find so interesting. I definitely walked out of there with some knowledge I wasn't aware of before visiting. The enclosures and environments were gorgeous as were the animals inhabiting them, and the food was also great. I put together a video of the experience so I could relive it. - Daniel Baker

Went there in February with my nephews and niece. For a place that's small, and new compared to Taronga, Sydney Zoo is still pretty impressive. It's more accessible, not as steep as Taronga, so it makes walking around much easier, and the animals are well grouped and organised based on the themes, and continents. Looking forward to visiting again soon, and hopefully in the future, the zoo may expand, so we can see, and learn more in person.

A new addition to Sydney’s west. A good 3 hour activity for young and old. Catering availability with healthy options. Ample parking, souvenir store. Does lack shade in some areas and I thought some of the enclosures are to small. But overall a fun experience.

Had a great time visiting Sydney zoo for the first time, easy to find and parking is free which was a bonus. The line to enter was long but went pretty quickly, once inside getting around was easy as everything Is well signed and in a loop. roos hopping around and lazing on grass area with emus was amazing to see. It's a very close up experience as long as you respect their space, it's very flat and no stairs so getting around is easy, very accessible especially for those who are disabled, they have scooters to rent if you need it. Animals are very friendly which is nice they don't shy away from people and many will approach you to say hello.

Great Zoo with a lot of thought put into planning the layout and the animals within. There's a mix of African and Australian animals on display outdoors as well as aquatic and nocturnal indoors. The kids can interact to an extent with the Australian animals. There are plenty of shaded areas and cafes to sit down, relax and escape the hot summer periods. Even though it gets busy thete is plenty of parking which id easy to get too off the highway. Check in moves quickly also.

First time here at Sydney Zoo. Travelling from south Sydney, was a breeze to get to the zoo. Very Covid safe for all the family. The zoo had a wide variety of different animals and plenty of places to sit down and cool off as well. All in all, it took us around 2hrs to navigate the entirety of the zoo. The staff are very friendly too. The big plus this zoo has… you are very close to most of the animals and this makes great viewing and photography. Highly enjoyable for all the family- al in all a great day out.

  • 4/5 Thomas J. 2 years ago on Google
Not a bad zoo. They offer a 5:30pm option but toilets and cafes were closed as well as the gift shop. Lots of empty areas and some animals not on display after 5pm which they don’t tell you about. Display glass was dirty in most displays which made getting photos hard.

Excellent way to spend your day. The zoo keepers are simply amazing. The animal feeding sessions and talks are great. You can see the animals so close during the talks. The best was the Koala talk where the koala was actively eating and really close. A lovely emu was having a walk around and she was so happy! Plenty of animal enclosures, a reptiles section, and an aquarium. Cafes, water, and toilets around everywhere in the zoo. Also, the retail shop has some really nice stuff at great prices. Must visit!

The West Sydney Zoo is great! Large variety of animals, lots of shaded area's and misting fans to keep you cool as you walk around... Cool water stations are everywhere to refill your personal water bottles. The walkways are great for strollers and wheelchairs... no stairs!!! The Bull Shark tank is amazing! And the Lions and Hyena's are gorgeous!! Yearly membership prices are great value.

We went for sunset experience... It wasn't crowded.... It wasn't hot.... Nice and cool if you have kids and a better time if you have toddlers....The only rip off is the indoor cafe.... Angus beef burgers not cooked fresh...meat was double cooked and dry... Bring your own sandwiches and get drinks better. not much choice of dinner than lunch time menu... You won't get any tour guide or shows during this time... Most of the animals were resting.. overall it was a good day out....

Awesome zoo for the West 🤙💯👌 Plenty of animals. Awesome Ferris wheel (extra charge) heaps of enjoyment for children and adults of all ages. Keep your eyes and ears out for the guides advising of stories and explanations of specific animals and extra encounters (extra charge of course) but overall will return. Ensure to book online for bookings and better pricing (than at the gate)

A great local zoo with a good collection of animals. Myself and my family have been here many times and we love it. Accessible for prams and wheelchairs to all areas. All animals are well looked after and staff are friendly. Clean toilets. Multiple food options and a ferries wheel. Plenty of free parking on site. Overall a great zoo to spend 3 - 4 hours with family.

This zoo is amazing, and will give great experience for kids and adults. It is not a large zoo, but well designed with nature, good range of animals, very clean facilities, friendly staff, enough parking slots, and there are more shaded areas along the way. I and my family friends visited this zoo, and had an interesting experience. Our kids really enjoyed the day out.

Took my two young kids here last Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. Free and convenient parking, great logical flow through the exhibits with plenty of toilet blocks which was a huge bonus for a newly toilet trained 2 yr old. Great visibility of the animals without feeling too intrusive. Completely pram accessible and easy to navigate. The yearly pass is definitely worth it! Only down sides were the expensive food/drinks (that’s expected) so bring you’re own if you’re on a budget and that the cafes probably weren’t staffed appropriately which left one staff member on both the register and coffee machine.

A good place to go with family. Lots of exhibits with a variety of animals including lions, tigers, elephants, kangaroos, koalas, snakes and crocodile. You can do the entire zoo tour in about 2 hours.

Love this zoo! It's the best equipped to manage massive crowds during public holidays. But the earlier you come the better. Definitely recommend getting the annual membership because it makes it a great place to regularly hangout especially if you have young kids.

This zoo is so much fun, it’s pretty friendly to all the young kids, because it’s so flat. There are so many educational moments for the kids! Even I learned a lot from the staff’s explanation! The staffs are very friendly as well! Thank you for the Tasmania devil zoo keepers, the Penguins zoo keepers, the camel zoo keepers especially. We had lovely time with you guys!

Wonderful experience, mostly flat so its an easy walk and the animal enclosures all have good viewing access. Parking is free and there is a lot of it, but it fills quickly. I have always found parking. They have a large food area as well as a number of smaller kiosks around the park. Lots for the kids to like, including a couple of carnival type rides.

  • 4/5 Dr. Robert S. 8 months ago on Google
Very nice zoo! Loved the zoo keepers interacting and providing detailed interesting information on the animals. Staffing seemed short, and a lot was closed. That's the only thing that kept this from being a 5-star experience.

  • 5/5 Waqas S. 8 months ago on Google
We enjoyed there a lot. Zoo has been divided on the basis of continents animals belong to. Kids can learn many things out of it. Also worth it to give a visit to aquarim inside. On the other hands I dnt know whether it was because of the wild life park theme or that it needs to be more tidy. Canteen area was congested may be because of the Saturday. Free parking is also a good feature.

  • 5/5 Mai L. 7 months ago on Google
Buy tickets and enter the gate very quickly, no need to wait too long. The zoo is massive, with many typical Australian animals and animals from Europe and Asia. Staff are very friendly and willing to help visitors. A zoo in Australia worth visiting.

The BEST zoo ever 🥹🥹 There’s a lot of precious animals to encounter!! Like Camel, Capybara, Crocodile, Elephant, Giraffe, Hyena, Lion, Meekat, Squirrel Monkey, Red Panda, Reptile and Tiger🤩 For the Reptile Encounter, you are able to get closer with their living place in the zoo, knowing how’s the zookeepers take care of them every day, feeding the frogs and taking some cooler pictures with the snake while touching them🥰🥰🥰 The animals here are beautiful. It’s easy to tell that they must be taking GOOD care of!!! Thanks Sydney Zoo for protecting our beautiful creatures. Strongly recommend to visit this Zoo in Sydney!! Can’t wait to encounter every animal here🤩🤩

A small and compact zoo. But it is easy to navigate. Koala here was the most active and adorable compared to Queensland and Victoria. AUD25 was the fee to get a closeshot photo by zookeeper. Besides 2 printed copies, we were also able to download 15 digital copies of different shots taken. Highly recommended Feeding kangaroo here was also quite fun. But kangaroo here only interested in carrot. We also noticed emu wandering around, but feeding emu today was not possible as the emu was not in a good mood today.

We went to Sydney Zoo today - Wednesday 27th September 2023. It was pleasantly warm - around 32°C by 12pm. The maps - when given - were a great help in navigating the zoo. The Broadwalk was great as you could see the animals so much easier when looking down into the enclosures. It was, however, very crowded (probably due to it being holiday time for NSW schools) and areas such as The Nocturnal House were particularly noisy. Most Nocturnal Houses have quiet signs around and that is usually adhered to - within reason - by the visitors. The mist sprays at the various stops around the zoo were really welcome. Those stops had shelter from the sun. There were quite a few food areas. The food was way overpriced. The menu at the smaller food areas was limited and they didn't have quick walk along food. The menu had full meals only. It is not comparable to either of the Taronga Zoos. Both Taronga and Western Plains have a variety of travel modes to assist with the movement of people to different areas of the zoo e.g. Taronga has the sky lift to get people from the top end to the bottom end or vice versa. Western Plains has carts and bikes for hire as well as being able to drive your own car or take your own bike to get around the zoo. Sydney Zoo is a smallish zoo and when we went up in the ferris wheel it didn't look like there was spare land in which it could expand. We generally add an encounter or two to our zoo or wild life park visits. Our grandson has been having encounters with a variety of animals from zoos and animal parks from Cairns to Sydney since he was four. He is now 7 - so it was disappointing that most of the encounters he would have been interested in were for children 8 years and above. Overall I would give Sydney Zoo a 2.5 but I had to do a 3 as the review wouldn't allow me to do a 2.5.

I absolutely adored my experience at Sydney zoo. Booking online meant we saved a bit of money. The zoo itself was so well looked after, so clean and lovely to look at. We did 3 animal experiences and all of the handlers who ran them were so so amazing at getting information across as well as giving us a great experience with the animals. The animals themselves were amazing to meet (red panda, lions and meerkats). Would absolutely recommend this place to all.

Really enjoyed this zoo as part of our Klook Tour to the blue mountains. There was so much to see but so little time. Really enjoyed feeding the kangaroos and taking pictures of the koalas. This zoo seems that it really pays attention to take care of the animals and ensure that they have similar conditions as they would in the wild. Even for the koala photo taking session. the staff told us that we are not able to touch them as it stresses them out. Which was sad but undestood it was best for the animals

  • 4/5 demonofthefall93 5 months ago on Google
We went to the zoo today and did a tiger feeding experience. The staff were great and the experience was a lot of fun. Sandy in particular was amazing. The only down side was there was some sort of session time where you were meant to leave at 1 instead of 5 but none of the staff had been told about it. We got there at 10:30 so we didnt leave at 1 as we hadn’t even seen half the zoo yet after doing our animal encounter but when we did leave we tried to check out the Christmas tent but were told our session was over and we couldn’t go in despite paying for it which seemed pretty pathetic. Overall a good day out.

The scale of the zoo is small, but it's focus on Australian animals is excellent. The aquarium, nocturnal house (don't skip this one, it's unique in bringing you face to face with the lizards, snakes and frogs from across Australia) Kangaroo and Koala encounters delivered. You need under two hours to soak in the experience.

Nice Zoo with all visable animals. The best parts are reptiles and aquarium. Taking photo with Koalas is joyful as you can get very close to them. The homelands of the animals have perfectly designed and they seem happy. The interesting part is Africa land with all giraffes, zebras, ostriches and rhinos together. Different Cafe and restaurant are available in different spots, drinkable water is acceptable every where and it was amazing that fans with moist could cool down people in higher temperatures. Toilets were clean and restaurants foods are good. We enjoyed a lot
