Doodh Talai Lake or Dudh Talai lake, is a small pond located adjacent to the Lake Pichola, near Shiva Niwas Palace (residence of Maharana Fateh Singh), in the heart of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The Doodh Talai Lake is located very much near the center of the Udaipur City. It is around 24 km away from Udaipur Airport, and just 3 km & 4 km away from Udaipur City railway station and Udaipur City Bus Depot, respectively. Visitors can also take local Tongas, auto-rickshaws and taxis to reach Doodh Talai. Doodh Talai lake shares a common link road with another picturesque attraction Lake Pichola. Doodh Talai is surrounded by small hillocks which hosts Deen Dayal Upadhyay Park, and Manikya Lal Verma Garden (or Rock Garden or Musical Fountain Garden) Doodh Talai Lake provides few options for fast food centers, camel and horse rides and boat ride.Contiguous to the beautiful Lake of Pichola, Dudh Talai Lake is a dainty pond at the epicenter of the Udaipur. Encompassed by the marvelous hillocks all around, this lake holds out venturing activities of camel and horse ride. Besides, the beautiful garden of Manikya Lal Verma owing its origin back to the year of 1995 enriches the beauty of Doodh Talai along sides offering the marvelous view of the serene Pichola and the lake of Doodh Talai.

This is a small lake right on the side of Pichola. Nothing extraordinary about this place. You can come here in the morning when you've heading for the Sunrise view from the Karni mata temple as it's on the foothills of Karni mata temple. See and decide if it's worth it or not. You can't ignore it as its amidst two popular spots!

Dudh Talai, located in the beautiful city of Udaipur, Rajasthan, is a picturesque destination that offers breathtaking views of the city's iconic landmarks and the serene waters of Lake Pichola. With its tranquil atmosphere and stunning surroundings, Dudh Talai is a must-visit spot for tourists and locals alike. In this review, we will delve into the various aspects that make Dudh Talai a delightful experience. One of the standout features of Dudh Talai is its stunning location. Situated on the southern end of Lake Pichola, it provides a panoramic view of the lake, including the majestic City Palace, Jag Mandir, and the famous Lake Palace. This cable car ride takes you from the foothills of Dudh Talai to the hilltop where the Karni Mata Temple is located. The ride provides breathtaking views of the city, the lake, and the Aravalli hills. It's an exhilarating experience that shouldn't be missed. At the hilltop, you can visit the temple and enjoy a bird's-eye view of Udaipur. Another highlight of Dudh Talai is the musical fountain. In the evening, as the sun sets and the city lights up, the fountain comes alive with a mesmerizing display of water, lights, and music. Famous for β€œMusical Garden”, the Dudh Talai in Udaipur is simply magical with fountains dancing to the tunes accompanied by the lights. This is a perfect picnic place to enjoy the views while taking a dinner with family and friends. We recommend to take your own food and mat to make yourself comfortable while enjoying the show.

Boatride is too short and boats were not clean . If you take 10 seater boat they charges 3300 for 20 minutes . Which is expensive. It is better just go for 30 seater sharing boat and pay 165 rupees for 15 minutes boat ride. For foreigner charges are higher 330 to 660 per person. Boating place have photographer they chase you for photos in dresses charging 150 per photo . You can buy street food at this place with limited availability. This place is close to ropeway ride .There is short camel and horse ride available at this place .

Dudh Talai is an artificial pond that offers a perfect blend of architectural marvel and serenity. It offers a stunning view of the lake Pichola and Jagmandir. Good place for photography. Desperately needs attention of local authorities for maintaining surroundings. Short stop is recommended.

Just an old village pond that happens to have white steps with few chhatris along its shores and happens to be surviving all this while. Nothing touristy as such, can be skipped. Though clicking a picture here while on way back from Karni Mata ropeway is of no harm either.

Missed the chance of boating as it was non-operational because of Covid. But you can go to the ropeway spot and City palace from this place which is very close by .

  • 5/5 Satish K. 2 years ago on Google
City palace boat ride costs 500 / 800 rupees. Here the same boat ride in more comfortable seats, in better maintained boats costs 165 per person .infact this boat ride was longer. Please make sure to do the cable car ride to karni maata temple also. This place has the best boating options available on udaipur.
