Jay Shree Krishna Dakor temple is a temple of Ranchhodji bhagwan (shree krishna). Devotees visiting this holy place mostly on festive days and other days also. they worship god here doing prayers and taking sweets (prashad). this place has almost holy feeling. their narrow street gives perfect village feel. people are of this area are also generous, kind and helpful. local people selling materials to the Devotees which is used in the pooja , aradhana , aarti and shringaar of the god. some are selling cutlery materials. ડાકોર માં કોણ છે રાધા રણછોડ છે. જય શ્રી કૃષ્ણ. 🚩🚩

Over the years, much has changed at Dakor. From a small village of Dankapur, it has now transformed itself into a major center of religious and commercial activity in the region. The small shrine of the original temple is now encased in a large temple complex, which has grown up around it. The current temple complex is set in a large square setting. Four gates pierce the outer walls at the cardinal points. Various offices and storerooms are set around the outer perimeter of the temple. The actual temple is set on a high platform in a complex, set in the style of medieval temples from the region. The form of Lord Ranchhodrai is that of the Lord Vishnu with four arms. As is usual with Lord Vishnu, he bears the conch, lotus, discus and the mace in his hands. The lower right arm is held up in the abhaya mudra - giving protection to all those who come to Him. There may be a lotus imprinted on the hand, but it is impossible to confirm that without getting really close to the Lord. As the Lord here is worshipped more as Krishna than Dwarkadhish, i.e. younger and freer than the mature Lord of Dwaraka, His right hand is often shown to hold a flute – a favorite instrument of the Lord in His younger days. The upper right hand holds the mace, the upper left hand holds the discus and the lower left hand holds the conch. Ordinarily, it is difficult to see these "ayudhas" of the Lord in His hands. During festivals, the hands encased in gloves of gold studded with gems.

Here Lord Krishna is worshiped as Ranchorji. Ranchor is the name given to Krishna as He fled from the battlefield in Mathura while fighting against the armies of King Jaräsandha. Every day at noon Lord Ranchorji is offered fifty-six preparations, of which thirty-six are different kinds of vegetable preparations. DAKOR IS FAMOUS throughout Gujarat, India, for a deity of Lord Krishna named Ranchor Raya. Ranchor (rana-cora) means “one who flees from battle” or, more simply, “deserter,” and raya (from raja) designates a king or a respected person. Krishna gained fame as Ranchor Räya when He fled a battle, apparently out of fear. Actually, He wanted to prevent needless killing and attend to His pastime of kidnapping Rukmini, His first wife. Krishna's fleeing the battle is especially glorified by devotees in Gujarat because it marked Kåñëa's taking up residence in Dwarka (Dvaraka), in Gujarat.

Dakor Temple is full of energy and positiveness. Bhagwaan Ranchhod Ji (Krishna) darshan is the best in the morning. Photography is not allowed only near krishna's murti. Don't forget darshan of Maa lakshmi Mata after the darshan of Krishan bhagwaan. Near temple Gomti pond is located. On the other side of pond Jalaram Temple is located. You can go there through boat. Full of enjoyment place. Go with whole family and spend whole day without tension. And don't forget to go to Galteshwar temple just 17 km from Dakor.

Ranchhodray Temple Dakor Ranchhodraiji Maharaj Mandir situated in Dakor city resided in the Kheda district of Gujarat. The temple is one of the popular temples of Dakor. This temple is the popular pilgrimage centre also the boating facility available at the lake in front of the temple stands as the major attraction to the temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Devotees throng to the temple especially during the aarti to seek darshan of Lord Krishna. The temple of Lord Krishna is also popular for the various Bhog and Prasad, especially Laddu and Rasmalayi. The temple has a unique culture, where only women’s are allowed to offer food (Prasad) and flowers to the Lord History of this Temple In the Mahabharata period, the area around Dakor was called ‘Hidamba’ forest. It was a very dense forest. It was pleasant and rich with rivers and lakes. Establishing his ashram for penance had become an attraction for the sages. Similarly, the hermitage of Dank Rishi was also in this area. Lord Shiva was pleased with him during penance and asked him to ask for something. Thereafter, Dank Rishi requested Lord Shiva to stay permanently in his ashram. Lord Shiva agreed to their request. He disappeared and left behind his replica in the form of Linga, which is known as Danknath Mahadev. Thus, in ancient times Dakor was known as ‘Dankor’ after the name of Danknath Mahadev. It was also known as Khakharia because of the many Khakhra (Palash) trees in the vicinity. akor in Kheda District of Gujarat is prominent for its grand temple of Shree Krishna which have a historical significance. An interesting legend relates how Lord Krishna came to reveal himself at Dakor (Kaira District) leaving his Dwarka abode. In olden times a Krishna devotee named Bholanath used to walk all the way to Dwarka from Dakor on every full moon night to worship his beloved Krishna. The all-knowing God noticed the difficulties which his devotee was undergoing. The god told Bholanath when he was visiting Dwarka that he need not walk all the way to distant Dwarka as he had decided to stay at Dakor (Dhankpuri of olden times). So God accompanied him to Dakor. The priests at Dwarka temple were naturally upset at the turn of events. They somehow or other wanted to get backthe stone-idol of Ranchhodrai (Krishna). Both at Dwarka and Dakor Krishna is known Ranchhodrai. It is said that he ran away from battle when Kalyavan attacked him as an ally of Jarasandh. So Krishna is called Ranchhodrai - one who ran away from the battle. The priest of Dwarka knew that Bholanath was a poor man. So they told him that he should either pay for the stone idol in gold or return it. The only golden ornament the poor devotee had was his wife's nose ring. When the idol and the nose ring were placed in the scales they were found to be equal in weight. That is how Krishna changed his residence from Dwarka to Dakor for the convenience of a devotee. The belief is the Krishna idol of Dakor was originally from Dwarka. There is a carnival or fair which takes place at Dakor around February and March, (during festival of Holi). On the day of Sharad Purnima (Full moon day) which comes after end of navratri is the day believed on which lord krishna come to Dakor as Ranchodrai with his great devotee known as Badona. Thus, he fulfilled his promise. Also the temple is visited by devotees during Janmashtmi on birth

Temple premise is very well maintained, and security staff is very helpful. Ranchhodraiji’s idol is visible from far behind, hence darshan/prayer becomes very easy and convenient. Ensure to find a good parking spot (are generally paid) before going to the temple.

Visiting Ranchhodrai Dakor Temple was an excellent experience that left me in awe of its beauty and spiritual significance... From the moment I stepped foot into the temple premises, I felt a sense of tranquility and positive energy enveloping me... Ranchhodrai Dakor Temple is a destination that should be on every devotee's list... What truly sets Ranchhodrai Dakor Temple apart is the sense of unity and harmony that prevails among its devotees. People from different backgrounds and walks of life come together in devotion, creating an atmosphere of inclusiveness and shared spirituality. It is heartwarming to witness the strong community bond and the genuine love for the divine that unites everyone... The temple complex also offers various amenities to ensure a comfortable visit. Clean restrooms, ample parking space, and well-managed crowd control measures contribute to a hassle-free experience. Additionally, the on-site food stalls serve delicious prasad (offering), allowing devotees to indulge in traditional Gujarati cuisine.

One of the Panch Dwarka temple of Gujrat. It is a very old temple of Bhagwan Krishna. Temple is always crowded with devotees. The vigrah is in black stone and Radha ji is not there. Beware of priests. I wanted to offer flower, prasad for archana and priest started demanding high money after taking sankalp. I had to literally warn him to stop harassing me.

This is a very important temple for Krishna lovers. Beautiful in the architecture yet lone finds it difficult to enjoy and feel all the beauty and glory of the temple and the idol of Ranchhodray Maharaj. There's a crowd on most of the days, especially on Poornimas, ekadashis or any other festivals. Standing even for 1 min and taking an eyeful of darshans is also not possible nowadays. One has to hire a cab or take a public transport or an autorickshaw to reach here . it's around 67 kms from Baroda railway station. Better to reach in the early morning hours to avoid rush and the heat as Baroda is a hot city with harsh sun.
