From the Trutiyadeva Temple , the next leg of journey was a real surprise . We are on the left bank of River Mahanadi and our next stop was Amangeikuda (ଅମଙ୍ଗେଇକୁଦ) at Kandarpur Village 10kms downstream . Kuda is river island in odia. The road offers possibly some of the spectacular views of Mahanadi and the riparian forests adjacent to it . What a mesmerising sight . Now this is the surprise part - when we reached the place and found ourselves standing in one of coolest spots. The heat outside was 40 C and under the shade of a giant tamarind tree - just below 30 and cool breeze from the river blowing. This part of the river is deep by 140-150 ft . We waited for the boatmen to arrive since we landed up at an odd hour, and later to our misfortune the boat's propeller had malfunctioned. So we could not make it to this river island temple . Next time , with more of you joining will be exciting . It is a place just to relax and look onto the riverside which makes a full curve in front of you . This temple on the river island is close to 8th century built temple by Somavanshis . Small yet , very beautiful . I have just one internet image of the temple to share.

Nice place but villagers whom you need to reach it by crossing the Mahanadi river are manner less and charge way too far for boat service. Not a preferred place for family outing as drunkard youths of the nearest Kandarpur village often have booze party there. Odisha Tourism must take note of this and properly develop the place.
