Making
the
decision
to
have
a
hip
replacement
abroad,
in
Lithuania,
with
the
Nordorthopaedics
clinic,
was
the
best
decision
I
made!
The
clinic
came
highly
recommended
by
others
who
have
been
treated
there,
through
similar
reviews.
But
I
am
also
fortunate
enough
to
have
a
personal
Lithuanian
friend
who
also
carried
out
his
independent
research
on
the
clinic,
he
too,
highly
recommended
the
Nordorthaedic
clinic
for
my
hip
replacement
surgery,
and
post
op,
physiotherapy
which
I
would
also
highly
recommend!
The
clinic
co-coordinators
(Emilija
in
my
case)
done
a
wonderful
job
of
putting
the
entire
package
together
for
me,
including
the
pricing,
which
was
very
clear,
Emilija
arranged
all
the
pre/post
op,
and
physiotherapy
transportation
for
my
entire
two
week
stay
in
Lithuania.
Pickup
on
arrival
in
Lithuania,
to
drop
off
at
the
airport
on
my
final
departure,
all
outpatient
pick-ups,
and
drop
off's
which
included
travel
to
and
from
the
post
Op
recovery
SPA,
which
is
located
in
a
beautiful
part
of
the
country.
Emilija
(Nord
clinic
co-Ordinator)
arranged
all
the
hotel
and
SPA
accommodation,
including
post
op
physiotherapy,
at
the
Nord
clinic,
with
the
very
professional
and
friendly
physiotherapy
team,
led
by,
by
Laimonas
and
Juste,
who
were
inspirational
to
all
of
the
post
op
patients.
The
Post
Op
physiotherapy
treatment
at
the
UPA
Spa,
was
also
very,
very
useful
and
essential,
again
I
highly
recommend
a
patient
spends
a
minimum
of
a
week
there
to
get
them
back
on
the
road
after
hip/knee
replacement.
A
couple
of
things
that
could
be
improved
post-surgery,
in
my
humble
opinion,
and
based
on
my
experience.
1.
Stronger
pain
killers
than
the
standard
Paracetamol,
or
Ibuprofen.
2.
The
cryotherapy
and
heat
treatment
should
be
abit
longer
than
10
minutes,
maybe
20
minutes
per
session
3.
As
the
majority
of
the
patients
are
English
speaking,
I
would
recommend
the
staff
have
extra
lessons
in
English
to
improve
communications.
4.
The
SPA
rooms
could
be
improved
a
little
bit,
some
rooms
had
showers
with
a
support
handle,
some
don't,
but
these
are
needed
post-surgery.
5.
I
would
also
suggest
that
maybe
the
SPA
have
a
bbq
or
entertainment
evening
once
a
week,
this
would
certainly,
lift
the
spirits
and
moral
of
the
patients.
But
overall,
the
staff
were
very
helpful,
professional,
and
attentive,
the
doctors,
nurses,
and
the
general
SPA
staff
were
fantastic,
as
well
as
the
physiotherapists,
and
masseurs/masseuses.
The
overall
cost
for
the
surgery
and
post
op
treatment,
including
transportation,
is
worth
the
£7.5k
GBP,
or
8.5k
Euros
charged,
which
is
phenomenally
better
than
the
£14k
to
£20k
(GBP)
UK
costs
for
the
same
private
treatment
which
does
not
include
post
op
physiotherapy,
so
this
makes
the
surgery
more
affordable
from
a
private
treatment
perspective.
The
quality
of
the
Hip/Knee
implants,
the
Op
procedures,
and
the
experience
of
the
Surgeons,
are
as
good
as
the
UK,
and
other
parts
of
the
EU,
or
Western
world.
The
implants
are
and
standards
of
the
implants
are
all
based
on
the
same
implant
supplier/vendors.
Nordorthopaedic
clinic
surgeons
provide
the
patients
with
a
list
of
implant
options
and
advice
on
which
implants
would
work
best
for
them,
based
on
their
age,
activeness,
and
other
factors,
which
most
of
the
UK
NHS,
or
private
clinics
do
not!
This
makes
a
patient
feel
more
involved
in
the
decision
process,
this
stands
out
as
a
very
positive
factor,
in
my
personal
opinion.
Lastly,
there
are
no
long
waiting
lists
to
have
the
required
surgery,
this
also
makes
Nordorthopaedic
clinic
unique,
and
attractive,
especially
for
those
patients
that
have
been
seeking
hip/knee
replacement
treatment
for
a
very
long
time
on
the
NHS,
or
other
parts
of
the
world.
