#Lake Galvė is a lake in #Trakai #Lithuania. It has 21 islands, and one of them houses Trakai Island Castle. Trakai was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1321-1323 before moving to Vilnius. The lake and most of the other lakes surrounding the castle and city have myths and legends connected to them, of which most contain a tragic love story. The lakes and castle are therefore also said to be haunted.

Very beautiful and very clear lake with lot of water activities. You can rent whatever you want: yacht, boat, canoe, pedalo etc. and have your safe distance on the lake. P.S. my secret: if you want your private beach, you come enough early, rent water-bicycle, go to one of the islands in the middle of the lake, and voilaaa - beach is yours, because lithuanians do not come if they see that island is already occupied 😊

Beautiful lake situated around the Trakai island castle in Trakai. Worth to take a sailing boat tour, bike tour or just spend hot summer days in local beaches. By the way, you can have fun in winter time as well while trying ice way to get to the castle instead of regular bridges.

Beautiful place near Vilnius. A lot of lakes around Galvė lake. A lot of entertainment like Paddles, yacht sailing, swimming, resting. Good food. Traditional and local like Kibin' , Kiubetė etc.

This lake is magnificently masterpiece in November, and very greatestly probably in both winter and summer. There are many magnificent houses here. This lake has an incomparably promenade.
