Monument of Volinia Massacre in Warsaw

Historical landmark

👍👍 A must-visit place on the map of Warsaw, just like the neighboring square. The sad thing is that the place is isolated, far from the center, poorly marked, hidden behind trees and acoustic screens. It's as if someone had chosen this place specifically so that few people would come here and few would... People often mention monument, Polish, Ukrainian,

A very unique and necessary place. The monument commemorates Polish citizens of the Second Polish Republic murdered by Ukrainian Nationalists of the OUN-UPA. Under the monument there are as many as 18 plaques mentioning the Polish towns from which citizens of the Second Polish Republic were dragged and murdered. In the vicinity of the Monument there is Volhynian Square, where there is a monument to the 27th Volhynian Home Army Infantry Division - it is also worth visiting. I definitely recommend visiting, praying thoughtfully and lighting a lamp.

It seems that the Warsaw authorities deliberately isolated him with AK screens so that he would be less visible. The screens could even be transparent. Anyone who doesn't know what is here has no chance of finding out just by driving a few meters past it. And the rainbow on Savior Square is the opposite. We know who's in charge.

A must-visit place on the map of Warsaw, just like the neighboring square. The sad thing is that the place is isolated, far from the center, poorly marked, hidden behind trees and acoustic screens. It's as if someone had chosen this place specifically so that few people would come here and few would see it (there are so many places closer to the center where this monument could have been placed, where many people could have stopped, read, thought and prayed). Apparently political correctness has taken over again :(

A place/monuments telling the extremely difficult story of two neighbors. This place has a special meaning today. However, we should not forget about what happened 80 years ago.

The perpetrators of the Volhynian crime were: the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists - Stepan Bandera's faction, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army subordinated to it, and the Ukrainian population who participated in the murder of Polish neighbors. The main commander of the UPA, Roman Szukhewycz, is directly responsible for carrying out the genocidal ethnic cleansing in Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland against the Polish civilian population. A crime that cannot be forgotten. An important place on the map of Warsaw, unfortunately the location is not very accurate. Hundreds of thousands of people driving along the nearby Home Army Route do not know about this place covered with sound-absorbing screens. I recommend visiting and sharing information about this memorial site with your friends.

It's great that the monument stands, but where... at a time when the population of Warsaw is 1/5 Ukrainian, it is appropriate that the monument be placed in a more representative place. Who would normally go there, deliberately not looking for the monument... The Smolensk monument was placed on Piłsudski Square, even if you don't want to, you will still come across it, while the monument to the victims of the Ukrainian murder of Poles is on the outskirts of the city, hidden behind an acoustic screen...

An extremely forgotten place where memory should never cease! Honor and glory to the Poles ''sorted out'' by the UK's 4in NEIGHBORS

An exceptionally important and necessary place. Extremely neglected 5 days before the 80th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

A must-visit place for every citizen of Ukraine. It's a pity that it's far from the center and so small.

Such a monument should be in a representative place so that Banderites can see what their ancestors did.
