At last I visited the Mermaid statue which is one of the most famous landmarks in Warsaw. But it's a pity that few tourists visit this place because the Polish government might forget to promote as popular as another Mermaid in Old town.

A beautiful statue showing the symbol of Warsaw. Situated along the river this statue is a decent walk away from the centre of the city but it is a key site that you must visit when in Warsaw.

Open space and clean. Airy and peaceful. Not too many crowds at the time of my visit (November 2023). Great riverfront area with walking paths.

Mermaid of Warsaw or Syrenka Warszawska in polish, it is a symbol of Warsaw. This statue is located besides Vistula River. It's open 24 hours and you can visit it anytime.

Nice spot to start your city trip . Monumental place with a charismatic energy . Full of history , a new city has erupted after almost total destruction in the war . Modern big city more then worth it, for a city round trip . Enjoy

According to legend, the mermaid symbolizes the protective spirit of Warsaw and its connection to the Vistula River. The original statue was erected in 1855, but it was destroyed during World War II. After the war, the statue was reconstructed in 1952 by sculptor Ludwika Nitschowa based on the original design. It has since become an iconic landmark of Warsaw and a popular meeting point for locals and tourists. The mermaid is known for her bravery and defending the city against harm. The statue serves as a symbol of Warsaw's resilience and determination in the face of adversity. area.

The Warsaw Mermaid, made of gunmetal, was erected in April 1939 in Powisle near the Vistula river. It is very interesting legend regarding Mermaid and it is symbol of Warsaw. You can also find them in other places of city.

The Mermaid statue is the start of a long walk across the boulevard to finish off your trip in Warsaw and see the sunset 🌇. In the summer evening there are many people walking, rollerblading, skating, biking or chilling on the stairs.

Bigger version of the mermaid located in old town square. Along the river and just down you can take a walk or go on scenic bike ride. Located near metro, this is a good place to visit that’s free!
