Climbed in August, so was dry. But had a cold and windy day, probably only 10-15° Celsius at the top (had 5 layers of clothes on). You don't need a rope, proper hiking shoes are very helpful. Everything can be done by walking and climbing with the aid of your hands. Be careful and take care, it is very steep and some rocks are extremely slippery. Definitely worth the effort if you have already got to Skala. This is another +/- 30 minutes, and offers the most satisfying feeling after you have accomplished it. Some very good looking rock formations and views are complimentary.

Highest peak on mount Olympus, but difficult to get here. There are 2 possible path. One from Skala peak, almost 45 minutes of scrambling on a threacherous and dangerous path called Kakoskala (dangerous rocks). Another way is from Zonaria path on a very steep rocky path, with loose rocks, where it is highly recommended to wear helmets!!

The whole experience shocks you ! From the ascent to the return to the shelter you feel the immensity of this majesty. It was very good weather and many climbers. We went up from Skala and descended from Luki as we would continue to the Plateau of the Muses where we spent the night

Not for beginners. Climbing Mythikas requires strength, experience and will. It is said in top 7 peaks in Balkan, Mytikas is hardest to climb.

this morning, watching the peak from Spilios Agapitos, the clouds kept appearing and evaporating from Mykitas, i wasn’t sure if i was going to be able to reach it. i would’ve been quite happy to have reached the relatively easier Skolio instead. i waited at Skala for half an hour or so and around 1pm the cloud lifted! seeing the peak there was no way I couldn’t try it, and the cloud stayed away until I summited an hour later. The scramble across is of course difficult but you are guided very well by yellow and red painted rocks. just don’t look down!

A pretty hard peak to climb, but the views worth all the shivers and sweat. We did it in one day from Prionia, to Refuge A -> Skala peak -> Mytikas, in about 12h, but I recommend to be done after a night spent at the Refuge A, as it's very hard with minimal training.

a lifetime experience, not for beginners. you should always wear a helmet because of debris from the guys in front. Best hours to visit early on the morning, before 10 and afte 2 in the afternoon.

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges. The highest peak, Mytikas (Μύτικας Mýtikas), meaning "nose", rises to 2,917 metres (9,570 ft). It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence. In Greek mythology, Mount Olympus was regarded as the abode of the gods and the site of the throne of Zeus.

Honoured to have been up there! There are two routes that you can follow. Prefer to make your way up, through Skala which is more safe than Louki due to rocks that are falling because of overcrowded people.

Last part is a bit technical but not that hard. We did 12 hours from Prinonia and back with a lot of breaks.

Hey everyone..... Mount Olympus was regarded as the home of the Gods in Greek mythology, purportedly made by the Olympian Gods themselves.Olympus is the highest peak in Greece with a height of 2,917 m (9,572 ft)...In my opinion, easy, medium hiking... Be careful, don't underestimate it...The weather didn't work out, there was fog at the top, it's a shame... and I didn't even meet Aphrodite, such a big disappointment.... :-)

Absolutely wonderful mountain! Views are breathtaking, but ascent from Skala requires some mountaineering experience - there is an exposition as well as some scrambling. Helmet highly recommended, there is a risk of falling rocks.
