(Translated by Google) The US Diplomatic Mission to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan seeks to protect and promote US interests in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through diplomatic relations with the Jordanian government and commercial contacts with the local business community and public diplomacy aimed at engaging Jordanians in sharing common values and building mutual understanding. The following table includes a list of the names of the US Ambassadors: Representative and the name of the Ambassador or the diplomatic representative, state the name of the jurisdiction in which the diplomatic representative was born, qualification and mention whether or not the person in the diplomatic service has previously been promoted Ambassador or diplomatic representative if the conditions apply, but the test may be applied to a person who has never worked in the diplomatic service for reasons specific to the State designated for the ambassador and the State to which the credentials are submitted. If a consulate is appointed as Consul or under certain circumstances, there is no Ambassador, the alternate person acting as the Ambassador, the Recruitment Officer, and the date of appointment of the employee and the job title shall be mentioned before submitting his credentials to the State in which he will be appointed. The other State has the right to accept or reject the application because the relationship of the State to the other State shall be through the Ambassador. The termination of the mission shall be stated only on the date of termination of service in that State and not necessarily of the diplomatic corps C. It is possible that the ambassador will be demobilized from a certain country to be transferred to another country. US ambassadors usually serve in more than one country but usually have common interests such as geography, language, religion, etc., for example, an ambassador to the US Embassy who served in Amman, Baghdad and Beirut. You call the embassy and tell them that you, you are a US citizen and don't have time due to travel to wait for a week to get an appointment, they tell you to come first thing in the morning. You come to the gate and they have bunch of idiots that they only ask what time is your appointment. No appointment no entry! Great! What a waste of time to get someone on the phone, you need to clear your afternoon and expect to wait for 50 minutes on the line ... I don't blame the idiots at the gate, I blame the process maker inside! Here a suggestion process maker - if all what we need is a notarial service, why cannot we citizens drop the paper at the gate say by 9 AM and comeback and pick it up at noon. I don't need anything complicated, this is a simple service to notarial a Notary Public that was made in the US. Literally - it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. You are making things more difficult that they should. Another suggestion - close it!

It's a nightmare to make an appointment, as a American born and raised and knows about american customer care and ways of service, I thought they would be much nicer and helpful to clints. I'm very surprised? Over the phone or in person, the staff are not nice 🤦🏻‍♂️ and useless with broken English and real bad & harrable attitude, it feels like they are mad at you for something 🤷‍♂️ I wish I can give -5 stars , I'm so shocked 😲 and disappointed 😞

I did not expect this bad service at American embassy in Jordan last Sunday. My mother and my brother applied for B2 visa and when they went to the interview, they didn’t let them inter for the interview. Just they took thier passports and then they gave it them back and they told them that thier requests were rejected. I did not know why American embassy did not give them a chance to be interviewed. We understand that we are from one of the country that are on the travel ban, but President Trump said “ close family member can come to visit their son or doughter who has F1 visa even they are from countries that are on travel ban. They made me cry the whole day. I love American people, but I did not know why American embassy showed this kind of discrimination aginst my family. They were too racist in treating them. “ They almost trough their passports in their faces” my brother said. This is not an appropriate behavior at all and not presented American people. Thanks for the pain you made it for our heart. Hopefully, you got my message. An international student in USA from one of the country on travel ban😢

Would give them 0 stars if I could. The employees barely speak English and are very rude, incompetent and insulting and don’t know their own policies. Filing a complaint with the dept of state but I felt like I owe you a negative review for how rude you are on the phone. Specifically a Jordanian woman. She needs to be fired.

You need to get your act together and help citizens. You need to respond to emails if you cannot provide English speaking people, preferably Americans, to listen to our needs and you cannot tell people to change their flight arrangements in order to accommodate us for simple paper notarization, I am very disappointed.

We have applied to different visas for different counties around the globe; you name it [Europe, Canada, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East] and we have never experienced such a horrible and frustrating treatment to all of the applicants awaiting there on the entrance gates. The personnel and the security team are extremely rude and unprofessional in even arranging for the entry flow. These arrangement is something they are accustomed to in their job. They always have hundreds if not thousands of applicant per day and they still lack simple things. The instructions are not clear; the applicant almost stumbled on each other; the waiting there is literally 3 benches that hold 3 in each; elderly applicants who did not find neither the support nor a place to sit. The outside area was packed. I do not know what to say to be honest. It is one of the worst, unpleasant, unprofessional experience. Security team inside the waiting area and outside are very rude. We were all school kids in a recess! PS: everyone understands very well that they are not in الأحوال المدنية and it is the “American Embassy” - we are already submissive and listen nervously and carefully to the instructions; if they were addressed clearly and professionally. At least the simple arrangements of the entry flow and the waiting area!

This embassy is certainly a joke, I had a flight and classes to attend to back home but they wouldn’t give me a simple notarization appointment. They only take notary appointments on Wednesdays between 8 and 10AM. It’s not my problem they’re understaffed and over worked/ overbooked, I pay my taxes for a reason. I don’t have to go back missing 2 weeks worth of lectures plus paying a postponing fee for an airline plus delaying hundred other things to do just because they open one day a week. Get you s**t together.

This feels absurd having to leave a google review for an embassy, but other than an email address that still says it’s Eid, there doesn’t seem to be another way to give feedback. It’s embarrassing how huge but how ill equipped this place is. I’ve been the the embassy 5 times now just trying to simply renew my passport, yet somehow there’s always an issue. Despite paying for a 10 year passport, my husband was issued an emergency passport only good for one year. We spent hours on the phone and sending emails trying to figure out what happened, no one seems to take responsibility, and we have a minimum of two more visits we will have to make just to get the right passport. It’s so frustrating and and such a waste of my tax money. If you need to renew your passport, I would wait until you’re in america if you can. This whole experience has been annoying and a waste of time and money. Beware any information on the website is most likely outdated and not correct, but good luck getting the correct info.

The worst embassy, They don't response to emails, over phone they can't answer any questions "if they even picked", It they responded to your email this will take forever, I am in the states few of my colleagues from a different nationality, went to Mexico to switch/issue new visa and it was stamped in the same day! They are very responsive! Not like the embassy in Jordan, that is really disappointing!

Fortress America. Somewhere along the way, we've forgotten that an embassy is meant to be a tool to engage with the local population. Fine, we live in a post-9/11 world. Once you're on the premises, your worries melt away. A great pool, dining hall, and plenty of cultural tour opportunities abound. Enjoy your time here. Be safe.

Good location and friendly and good staff. You have to do your arrangements before you get there to do any interview though, because you aren't allowed to enter any smart devices with you inside the embassy and there's no specific department to keep those stuff outside while you are inside the embassy. You have to get there before your appointment about half an hour. Don't forget that you aren't allowed to take any photos of the embassy at all.
