Beautiful venue! I am not usually interested in visiting such places when I travel (buildings) but I am so glad I stopped here for a visit. There's a lot of parking space. A nice mall with quite a few restaurant options and and the Royal Opera House is simply stunning. I enjoyed listening to the tour guide explaining how this place is unique and different/what makes it stand out despite being an opera house. I can also see why a lot of events are held here. It's a top photo spot in Muscat and it's a beautiful place to come to see a show or even to visit, regardless of whether or not there is a show going on. There is security, it is easy to buy tickets and the tour guides are professional + very knowledgeable. Impressive building with a stunning design both in and out - and an amazing attention to detail.

Externally, very photogenic, internally, sumptuous and detailed. The visit could be very quick, there is the entrance and the theatre, but it depends how much time you spend to enjoy the details. I was lucky that there was the lights checking in preparation of a show.

Very beautiful place to be, must see. We had a great tour. In the evening when the sun goes down you do have fantastic light impression. The whole building is very new, just 10 years ago when the started this project. We liked it very much, also you can walk to the beach side and find good Cafe's and an very good Iran Restaurant.

Undoubtedly the Best place in Muscat and perhaps in Oman. Made with precision, creativity and quality. Vibe of this place is highly inviting. Structure will amaze you, restaurants will fleet you with stunning decore, food variety and quality of each dish served to you. This place promises to give a different taste during the day and night. My experience is engraved with joy.

Amazing place. Beauty of architecture and craftsmanship.. technology marvel inside the Opera Hall. The boxes and gallery is brilliance of design. The chandeliers, ceiling, walls, sound proofing, lighting, gadgets, touch panels seating.. beautiful in all aspects. Use of teak wood, marble, gold, gold covering, door handles walls, carefully designed in macro and micro level. A must see in life at Muscat, Oman. There are tour tickets available when shows are not happening. Pre book them. Tour Closes by 5pm. So plan your trip accordingly. The garden in front of the ROH is amazing..well maintained. The marble seems like oasis with the kind of polishing it has got. The attic hosts many grand events including the Fifa world cup display tour.. Museum of Arts is a place to watch. I missed entering as I reached late. Last show at 4pm Parking available..

It is one of the best music venues in the Arab world, the design of the building start by ordered sultan of Oman, sultan Qaboos bin said and the design and construction took 10 years, and it was completed in 2001. It's an amazing building it look like a palace and was built with local material such as the Omani Desert Rose rock, it builds made up in the style of classical Islamic art. like beautiful geometric shapes, Arches and sculpted rock. The Royal Opera House is a versatile venue that can accommodate a wide range of events, including operas, shows as well as conventions and other arts and culture events. It employs digital displays in the seats to showcase multimedia content, the Opera House broad theater also featured cutting-edge sound and lighting technology. ( the stork tourism company )

Royal Opera House Muscat isn’t only the most important music and performing arts centre in Oman. It’s one of the most important places of that kind in the Middle East. List of artists performed there is absolutely impressive. Together with its stunning architecture it’s a place that shouldn’t be missed in Oman.

The architecture of this place is gorgeous. The tour is at a fair price and it’s 30 minutes, no more no less. After that you can hang arround. Nice place for taking some photos. Please note: you will have to pass a security check in which they will take ant food, drinks or lighters you might have.

Stunning venue! Unfortunately wasn’t able to attend any of the shows - been told during the tour that the Sultan enjoys opera and brought different types of entertainment into the Royal Opera House, from classical to Middle Eastern music and priced accordingly so that everyone can enjoy the arts. The tour will touch on the purpose and construction of the Royal Opera, some priceless instruments on display and its origins as well as the state-of-the-art seating arena and how the Royal Opera House is different from other opera houses that you’ve seen.

An amazing building. Such beautiful architecture! It's best to see it by night as it's all lit up. We didn't go inside but the carpark was just next door and there was nobody about so we could enjoy it on our own. There are formal gardens & a colourful waterfall connected. There's a covered walkway to the luxury shopping centre on the other side of the road, featuring watches and expensive perfumes. I totally recommend a visit

One of the highlights to see when you are visiting Muscat city, this is one of the grandest opera houses in the GCC if not the world. There are two main sides, the theater and the luxury mall. Not a lot of people in the mall side. I can only give one star for the reason being the security was rude and unprofessional. I was outside the main facade trying to enjoy the area, I did not do anything wrong at all, I was surprised one of the securities clapped his hand to get my attention, only to gesture me to leave or trying to push me away. Shocking for a tourist country like Oman, I have very good impressions of the Omani people except for the rude security, shamed on you.

Must visit place when in Muscat. The architecture is stunning. You can buy a ticket for 3.1 Riyals for a guided tour. The guide takes you through the architecture, the building history in a detailed manner. The teak woodwork, Italian marble flooring and the Swarovski chandeliers are a sight to behold. The place is beautifully lit in the night.

Such a beautiful building. The garden is also worth a visit. During the tour you learn a lot about the history of the place and about the love of sultan Qaboos for the music. Would definitely recommend going there and checking it out.

It’s a beautiful architecture. Amazing building. However the ticket price of 3.15 Omani rial per person is bit expensive just to see the gallery. That’s £6.50 pp.

Mesmerizing place in Muscat!Every inch of this place reflects a true craftsmanship of Omani architectural design. Prior reservation is recommended for any shows and try to visit during that time. Day tour is available inside along with Guides and they will explain the uniqueness of this place. There are few fine dining hangouts are inside which they serve very delicious food along with drinks and there is a small mall inside for luxury items. Must see place in Muscat.

Some of the most famous names in opera and ballet have performed within this beautiful building since its inauguration in 2011, and the quality of the productions here (the season extends from September to May) regularly wins international acclaim. There's an efficient online reservation system with ticket collection on arrival. Note: there's a strict dress code for attending a performance. I've been to this place two times but both times I couldn't get a chance to go inside because of public holidays.

Breathtaking infrastructure that reflects the rich tradition of the country. The opera house itself is so beautiful. There are shopping malls, restaurants and cafes inside too. If you live in Oman and had a decent job but had never watched an opera or show even once, nor took a tour to see the inside of this wonderful place, ask yourself why 😅

Magnificent! If you're a person who's obsessed with architecture This is the right place to visit! If you have enough time, just move slowly and enjoy where you are. As a music lover, in the Music Gallery I enjoyed my time there so much. Coz I had the time to read and learn about those few instruments available as a display there. You can see how those instruments function and create that specific sound. Also there are some other instruments which you have to try them by yourself to see how it works.

We went there on 19/09/2023. It was a great experience at Royal Opera House, we went ok weekdays not too crowded but due to rehearsal we couldn’t made it to auditorium but they allow us gallery area which cost us 1 OMR per person. As you enter you have to undergo security scanning. Counter staff was so polite and cooperative. The gentleman man who guide us and gave information was really professional and his English was best so you can easily understand. You can ask questions and even they will be more happy to assist for any further information. They will take photos of you and I think they are best at it. Must visit

Only stopped here to visit, and it's worth the stop. Tours are 3 OMR and you have to purchase a ticket to view the inside. The Opera House is beautiful inside and out. Inspired by Middle Eastern and European design. The tour guide spoke English very well and gave a very lavish history of the Opera House. Definitely worth the visit! (There is also a shop nearby but nothing was open as I visited during the off-season during Ramadan.)

One of the nicest opera houses I've been to. The building makes extensive use of marble and is an impressive engineering work. There are regular guided tours during the day where you get to know a bit more about its (recent) history. However, got sold not missing coming to see it at sunset. Next to it there is a nice small shopping area with a terraced restaurant that gives you a nice view to the opera - great food and nice dinner views. The opera isa also walking distance to the beach.

You will not find these typical European style attractions in Arab world because they don't really fit in and go with the local culture but they've managed to do just that. Its a very nice blend of Arabian architecture, traditional Omani whitewash theme with European ingredients and the best part is, it doesn't feel out of place at all. I've never seen any show or set foot in any theatre in my whole life (because I'm just not sophisticated enough and never have the proper dress) but they do let you visit inside. it is a very classy place so all the dress code requirements start to make sense. You wouldn't wanna go inside even on a visit in your jeans, sweaty shirt and dusty shoes otherwise just roam outside the building and tick it off your list.

I hope that one day I'll have the opportunity to catch another performance. Everything about the experience was top flight and if you have the privilege to travel to Oman, I would definitely recommend heading to the ROH.

Breathtaking building, beautiful interiors. Also check out the galleria next door for pre or after show dinners. They break in the summer and play mostly weekends, but the operas that play there are always worth it.

Extravagantly beautiful architecture. Was there just early noon with the sun over our heads. The place is so clean, dust-free that you can see the building's reflection off its marble/smoothen stone covered ground. A must visit place if you are in Muscat.

I had the pleasure to visit the Royal Opera House Muscat, and I must say it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture of the building, which seamlessly blends traditional Omani style with modern design elements. The interior of the opera house is just as impressive, with comfortable seating, excellent acoustics, and stunning views from every angle. The staff at the Royal Opera House Muscat were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and comfortable throughout the evening. The attention to detail and level of service were truly exceptional, and it's clear that this is a world-class venue that is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for its guests. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Royal Opera House Muscat. Whether you're a lover of the performing arts or simply looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, this venue is sure to leave a lasting impression

Royal Opera House located in Muscat is a very beautiful monument. One can watch opera shows here along with family. Tickets can be bought in advance. The campus is also very clean and well maintained.

The Hall is a masterpiece of art with materials from different parts of the world, handcraft and influences also. A pity that with almost 150 years of Portuguese presence in Oman, namely in Muscat, I didn t see any reference to this country while being guided. That s the reason for the 3 stars. For a XXI century project this is a huge fail. For instance, the musical instruments collection could have a Portuguese Guitar (even more bacause it seem to have arab influence, like the most Portuguese traditional music - Fado)

Excellent shopping. Top quality vendors. Amazing ambiance. Some of the best brands in perfumery and watches. Handicrafts and antiques. Top notch coffee shops and restaurants

Sultan Qaboos has done an incredible job. It’s made to perfection, luxurious and so modern with niche products everywhere, even in the toilets. Even the gallery with shops/cafes were so fine.

This is a must attraction to visit when in Muscat. There is a tour for 3.1 riyal (paid by card only) which lasts about 15 to 20 mins. Tour includes detailed explanation of architecture of building, various musical instruments and the main auditorium hall and its features. Adjacent to the opera house is a luxury desert place, shopping mall, library. Has a covered parking lot for visitors.

Worth it worth it worth it. Just visit and experience. I don't have words to describe. The opera House is a sight. So beautifully made. The guide takes you on a tour for 30 mits. After that you can take photos. There is also a mall attached to the opera house. Also to be explored. There is a bridge which attaches 1 part of the mall to the other side.

The area is much better at night. There are nearby restaurants/bars. The opera house itself is amazing! I didn’t see a show, but the exterior is amazing
