I'm a alien have been in Amman for 3 years, and I mostly visit luxury restaurants. Salt restaurant is famous, so I had high expectations and visited several times for dinner and lunch, but in conclusion, I do not want to recommend it to anyone. The reason is as follows. 1. Very low level of service. Every time when I request something, I have to shout to call a waiter. Where is he or she? 2. Some menus are not available to order. Then why is it on the menu? 3. Low quality steak. I ordered a 300g loin steak, but I couldn't eat about 20-30% due to strong string that I could not cut with knife. See the photo attached. 4. They don't know how much meat is grilled. Medium Weldon, Medium, Medium Rare are all the same. Why do you ask when I order? Of course, there are good parts, and since it is my personal opinion, there may be individual differences.

This is a superb restaurant. Prices are high, but the quality is outstanding. Best seats are at the bar to watch the chefs in action - a real art!

Amazing steakhouse restaurant at Fairmont Amman. Very warm welcoming, guided to seats. Staff explained the menu very nicely. We were given the opportunity to choose special knifes. The service is very fast and professional. The meat was very tasty and tender. The hand cut fries were amazing and the peppercorn sauce is good. Again, amazing restaurant! I recommend it for Fairmont hotel guests.

Went there with the family. We sat down at a table beside the southern windows and the sun was rather in our face. I asked for the blinds to be lowered and the waiters were happy to oblige. We started with carpaccio and lobster salad and for mains, I ordered a black Angus striploin (medium), my wife and son ordered tenderloin (medium) and my daughter a ribeye (rare medium). Then they brought the compound butter to start with and that alone was sublime. The tallow butter was amazing, the other two were as amazing. The carpaccio and lobster salad were an excellent start and we were waiting for the mains... My striploin was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the tenderloins were also good but one was closer to well done than medium the ribeye was also excellent. We ordered sides of corn, asparagus baked potato and mushrooms and they were also very good, except the corn which was very strong on the Chipotle..... All in all an excellent experience and excellent service and food. But the place is echoy from the kitchen and the echefs were rather loud. Otherwise a perfect meal.

Salt was my favourite restaurant in Amman. My last time was terrible, the food was cold, not so tasty, there was no dinning experience whatsoever, the waiters weren't professional, it was like having an ordinary dinner at any other restaurant. Salt is a high end steakhouse located in the Fairmont hotel Amman 5th circle. The food is good and very high priced. For those days when you have a good chunk of change to blow.. it's the place to go. Almost $140 for 2 burgers, soda water, Mac and cheese and some creamed spinach and a couple coffees to put you in the picture. -2 stars for the atmosphere as it is very classy but don't get fooled by the pictures. The booths and tables are very small and uncomfortable.

Because it was a chef special I expected a little more. But the presentation, service, and beverages were excellent. Mashed potatoes were great. Vegetables were perfect. A very pleasant experience. We had a goats cheese salad and shrimp dynamite for our appetisers. Our main course was the angus beef tenderloin. Enjoyed every bite. Staff are friendly and made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The aesthetic of the restaurant is unique and you can see the chefs in action. Definite recommendation!

We had our anniversary dinner there and the night couldn’t be any better! The waiters were amazing but Chef Mahmoud made our night really memorable… every bite was just too good honestly🤩 I can’t wait to go there for more special occasions!

The reception is absolutely terrible and there is no accountability for their behavior. They absolutely ruined the entire dinner. My biggest regret is not leaving in the beginning. What a shame as we travelled from out of town to come and celebrate my husband’s birthday. The mashed potatoes are really good though

The decor is nice so as the service. The food quality wasn't good. We ordered steak meal for 2 and the beans and asparagus that came with it were so soggy and greasy not to mention that they were in total under 8 pieces and 2 baby potatoes cut in half. This dish cost us 50+jd tax not included. I understand its an expensive place but the quality and quantity of food should be better. Definately not going there again. I'de rather go to another high end restaurant that has better food.

I have been in Jordan for a number of years and believe I have tried all the steakhouses. Without a doubt, Salt is the best - the ultimate in steaks! The steaks are juicy, tender, and loaded with flavor. The savory super prime ribeye is my favorite but I would also recommend the super prime tenderloin. While the steaks and sides are filling, I would still suggest trying the appetizers like beef tartare and seared foie gras. Salt is one of the very few places I feel safe eating and would recommend the raw beef (tartare). Overall, the service is very good. I have visited Salt half a dozen times and have been met with great service but truth be told there is a difference between great and outstanding. Khaled is usually our server but a couple of times he has forgotten things like bread and asking us if we want wine refills. These are negligible in the overall presentation. We've had Habiba twice and she was outstanding. We never had to remind her of anything and she was always on her "A" game. The clientele was a mix of Fairmont guests and locals but primarily business folks and local couples. I've always thought that a restaurant must be pretty good if locals frequent it. Of all the 5* hotels, the Fairmont has the best restaurants in Amman and Salt is a real win for it!

The food was really good. We ordered steak tenderloin, super prime, corn, salt potatoes, and mac and cheese. Although the place is on the pricey side, everything was great and worth it. The staff are wonderful - Dana was extremely friendly and very helpful. I will totally be coming back to try different cuts and their burgers.

I’ve reluctantly knocked off a star due to the price (starters roughly £20-25 each, steak £50 pp) I appreciate it is in a hotel so those restaurants are always more expensive. Would definitely recommend a visit for special occasions.
