Impressive views, the access road is a little narrow although it is paved and painted on the sides. To pass two vehicles you have to slow down, the curves are bumpy, when you arrive there is a small parking esplanade and the Hermitage is beautiful. Inside they have a large stone right at the entrance with a very beautiful engraved cross and an engraving of a Star because according to legend, the Virgin of Chamorro appeared on that stone and they engraved the Star to indicate where the apparition took place. Already outside, according to the hermits and neighbors, there is a small cemetery with a stone cross that can be seen from above and a teacher Felipe is buried and something else that I do not remember and on the left exterior wall next to the main front door there is an engraving that we believe is from Latin or Hebrew. It is barely visible so you have to look closely at the stone bench. The intersection to turn down the general road is fine if we turn left or continue walking, there is a Give Way and it is quite cumbersome if you have a large car, there is hardly any visibility. Otherwise I recommend it to have a good day.

Known as the Chapel of the Virgen del Nordés or Hermitage of Chamorro, it is a Gothic-style Catholic temple built in the 15th century, Christianizing the ancient pagan cults. It is made up of a single rectangular nave built with granite ashlars and masonry. Its main chapel is covered with a cross vault with 13 keys, under which is a baroque altarpiece presided over by a late medieval image of the Virgin and Child. Inscriptions from the 16th century are preserved on one of its exterior walls.

The Hermitage of Chamorro is a chapel located on Mount Chamorro, in the city of Ferrol. It is dedicated to the Virgin of Our Lady of the Nordés, patron saint of the seas and valleys of Ferrol. The current chapel was built at the end of the 15th century or the beginning of the 16th century. It has a single nave with a high choir and chancel. The head houses a wooden image of the Virgin of Our Lady of Nordés, dating from the 12th century. The image is one of the most venerated in Ferrol. The Chamorro Hermitage is a popular pilgrimage site and is visited by thousands of people each year, especially during the festival of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Nordés, which takes place on September 8. The hermitage offers an impressive view of the city of Ferrol and the Ferrol estuary. Good parking. Accessible for people with reduced mobility. Free/24 hours. Give us a 👍 if you like it. Thank you.

(Translated by Google) The hermitage of Xamorro, a place of worship with more history than we think, I was lucky to meet a passerby who told me about it and left me stunned by telling me that it was built because the Virgin appeared under some stones where today settles, the most incredible thing is that people prayed to the 14 cruzeiros while they climbed on their knees (500 meters uphill) to it because the requests they made were fulfilled. I am not a believer, let alone miracles, but I have to say that the story is wonderful and the hermitage and its spectacular views.

(Translated by Google) The hermitage is quite beautiful, a pity that it is a bit neglected due to the dirt that can be seen on the walls and ceiling ... the place is beautiful and the views from this area are very good. If you pass close by, it is advisable to go up here, it is worth it.

A rough uphill walk on a well-maintained road but we'll worth the vista's of Ferrol and the Ria de Ferrol. If you arrive between 12 and 1930 from Wednesday to Sunday you'll find the little chapel open.

The views are beautiful, you can see all of Ferrol. The Hermitage is super well maintained and the guy who takes care of it is super friendly. Without a doubt, a place to return to. It is easy to access even though the hill you have to climb to get to it is very steep and curvy, but it can be climbed perfectly by car.

Very popular site in the Ferrol region, considered the main place for pilgrimages, being massive on Easter Monday or the first Monday after Easter Sunday, which ends Holy Week. Our Lady of Chamorro is the patron saint, as it is sometimes said, of the Nordés... and there are various legends. The views are beautiful. In the hermitage there are always lit candles and multiple votive offerings in wax with a reproduction of the part of the healed body, candles with the height of the person... unfortunately the smoke from the candles for centuries and a recent fire makes the interior very dark, being sooty today. The hermitage on rocks has inside a rocky cavity where they say the image appeared, this is a carving with a child whose head seems to come out of the chest... it has multiple donated garments. Time ago it was customary to climb on one's knees for promises on the route from the main road.

Emblematic place in Ferrol, with an excellent viewpoint of the City. The hermitage itself is small, but with several legends that I'm sure the person in charge has more insight than me, but to do so you have to make sure of the opening days and times.

(Translated by Google) I am devoted to the Virgin of Chamorro. I go every year to see it and I love that nothing changes. Year after year the hermitage remains in darkness, calm and brings peace. The views from outside are also worth it. A must if you are in the Rías Altas.

(Translated by Google) A shame !!! The hermitage is poorly maintained, dirty and dark. A little disappointed with the place of the patron saint of Ferrol. (Original) Una pena!!! La ermita esta poco cuidada, sucia y oscura. Un poco desilusionados con el lugar de la patrona de Ferrol.

👍👍 Impressive work of architecture, it is a temple with beautiful carvings and reflects a beautiful splendor, it is very bright and at the same time very solemn, frankly charming from an artistic point of view, and from a spiritual point of view it is brand new, to enter it, It already gives a feeling...
