(Translated by Google) I recommend going to be well informed of the itineraries. Stretching through a steep valley of deep gorges, the Fragas do Eume boasts the best-preserved coastal Atlantic forest in Europe and one of the very few forests of its kind on the continent. It covers 9,125 hectares, being declared a Natural Park, the fifth in Galicia, on August 12, 1997. In extension, it is the second largest of the natural parks after Xurés (Ourense), with almost 30,000 hectares. (Translated by Google) We did the route from the monastery to the first bridge on the river side, you have to wear shoes to walk and take into account that you have to climb slopes and walk through complicated places. There is another, flatter trail that is also very pretty. The monastery is small but very well preserved. To come and go you can take the bus that drops you off at the second bridge, we stayed at the end of August and it was free.

Nature place to enjoy at any time

(Translated by Google) It's a paradise. I have a couple of recommendations. It is important to keep in mind that the bus that goes and returns is full, so I recommend getting tickets in advance. I would say this is the most important thing. The rest is nature to enjoy, and places to stop to eat something. It takes a whole day. To be able to walk over the bridges and go up to the monastery and complete the visit (Original) Es un paraíso.

(Translated by Google) What is the information center okay. The interpretation center was closed due to the virus. What is a mess is the bus thing. They are minibuses of about 15 seats and with the infrequency that there are many people are left without being able to get on. It should be a shuttle type and it should come out every time it fills up if there are enough people. They are very few km and it is done fast. The walk is beautiful and highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) Recommended excursion through this beautiful place. You can do a good section with a free bus, especially if you go with small children, you can even walk a section if you prefer and then take the bus. We have seen ice cream papers and masks lying on the road, incomprehensible (Original) Recomendada excursión por este bonito paraje.

The center is good, the park is spectacular, but VERY BADLY SIGNED, not to mention NOTHING SIGNED, not even the routes to get there or anything.

Very kind. We went to the Caaveiro access and they gave us exhaustive information (thank goodness) on how to access it by other routes since the Caaveiro access was closed. They do enough trying to make life easier for tourists with closed accesses, unmarked routes... A marvel of professionals for a beautiful place but with terrible maintenance.

(Translated by Google) Very useful site to obtain information about what to do on the route. They inform you about the bus necessary to go up to the monastery and to get off. The bus is small and it is better to buy tickets in advance. The information given here is not clear, the routes and transport isn't either. So, as of August 2022 - this is the procedure to get to the forest trials, if arriving by car to the area. 1. This is the visitor centre (not listed that way on Google), the museum, a cafe/ restaurant, some toilets.. and.. this is where you take the bus up the forest road, to get to some of the trails you might've decided to walk on. Theres some blogs or internet info suggesting how you do it.. none of those were exactly true. 1st.. it's approximately 8km from the visitor centre to the 1st monastery, where you can take it from there yourself. There is not nearly enough parking at the visitor centre itself (maybe 10 cars or so, when you account for disabled spaces and coned off ones). There is enough space 1km further, in the picnic area for maybe 100 cars, empty in the morning before 12, but rammed after that. I suggest the 2 turnings before the visitor centre (on the left) that both head down towards the lake, they are both much nearer to the visitor centre, but if course, further if you actually walk down on your return. 2nd.. you can't drive (not supposed to but some did) past the picnic area in summer months (mostly through August, but a little either side too. So if you park there, you need to walk back, if you intend to get the bus up. 3rd... the bus is FREE, but it's on a first come first served basis, so will leave when it's full, from the queue of people gathered by the centres car park. 4th.. the bus currently leaves at 10.30, 11.30, 12 30 & 1.30 up and returns 11, 12, 1, & 2 down - to and from the same place. (At the top it stops at the bridge below the 1st monastery). The bus has a break and resumes coming down from 4.30, up 5, down 5.30 etc until last up at 8, and last 2 returns are 8.30 & 9.30pn. 5th.. the bus is free, but when you get on, the driver will (should) ask you when you want to return, and kind of books you into that return slot by way of giving you a ticket, so you'd only get on a return that wasn't yours, if someone else didn't show up for it, on a1st come first served basis. 6th.. most important.. how long does it take to walk back down from the top bus point to the picnic area (now only 7km). We left at 3.15 and hoped to best the 4.30 bus.. which we did, probably by 10mins or so, it passed us at 4.11, we got back 4.45 and didn't see it. Not sure if it wouldve let us off at the picnic area, but probably nor, stoi that's another 1km ride on and another 1km walk back too. Hope this helps - currently also need a face mask on all public transport, inc this.. if you don't have one, the restaurant will sell you one for 50c

We went to get advice and the person who helped us was honestly the most boring and least enthusiastic person I have ever seen in my life. And we were the only ones there asking. He gave us the instructions like a robot. He didn't get involved in the slightest and he didn't even know how to recommend where to buy some snacks for the children, or which area was best to see.... the truth is that it would be better if he dedicated himself to something else that has nothing to do with serving the customer. public

Beautiful Atlantic forest, perfectly marked route. Maria José and Fernando from the interpretation center were very nice, they explained everything to us. The sandwiches at the convent bar are unbeatable, a recommended excursion.

Disappointing that pets are not allowed. You can even carry it on a leash in national parks like Ordesa and there is no problem. I don't understand why it can't be done here. I can't comment on the park itself because I won't be able to visit it with my dog.

(Translated by Google) Disappointing, the guides offer you wrong information as they indicate the route but to go by bus you have to queue for at least half an hour because the ticket is given to you by the driver but when you arrive everything is already booked, plus the bus without disinfecting, no distance and no ventilation. In the end you have lost an hour and you decide to go for a walk. Recommendation to book a bus ticket online and get up early to make the route with time.

Beautiful Atlantic forest. Just don't be fooled by the various classifications for hike #1 os encomendeiros: It is 7.5 kilometers long one way (Monastery - first suspension bridge walking west) and it's 3/5 in intensity. Wear proper shoes and be confortable climbing up and down over rocks.
