It is alarming that the bridge is deteriorating: the metal roads are popping out gradually on the road and no one is doing anything about it. It is my strongest hope that government officials take note of the state of the bridge on the OGUN River and do something about it.

Abeokuta city, the Ogun state capital is a fast developing state in Nigeria, one of the topmost economy in Nigeria due to it's close proximity with Lagos State the economic nerve center of Nigeria and West Africa. Abeokuta city is serene and a good outlet for those who find Lagos conurbation too busy or congested. I enjoyed my stay.

It's named after Ogun state since it's the biggest river in Ogun state Nigeria. There are two bridge above the river and they leads to so many major road like lafenwa, sabo, ago ika, olomore, Nyangoa Barrack lafenwa, Rounder and soon. It's also close to the lafenwa market.

Ogun state is a South West Yoruba speaking town which shares borders with Lagos, Ondo, and then the republic of Benin. Ogun has vast array of land stretching as far as you can think of, the state has received a lot of the overflow of population from Lagos, but successive governments have failed to expand infrastructure to demonstrate warm reception for the hundreds of thousands of Lagos working class who choose to settle in Ogun. Security is poor, the roads are death traps, the youths are poorly engaged and public utilities are nearly inexistent. The State is one of the good examples of where politicians rent youths for politicing after which they are abandoned, hence, crime rate building from high youth unemployment is unabated.

Abeokuta — the gateway state. It's opening up and fast becoming the people's city. You are all welcome to visit.
