Honestly save yourself tears and stress and find a practice that actually care about their patients. I am disgusted with the experience I have got from the staff in woodside medical practice. I have recently starting losing hair so I’ve been in contact with The surgery, had my blood tested and got told to call back In 2 days for results. Ended up waiting for The results a week because The doctor never got round to it. Then i find out They didnt do any necessary tests such a vitamins, irons, etc (which can be a cause of hair loss). I got told to phone back ASAP when anything changes. My scalp started being sore and had burning sensation as well as my hair loss was getting worse to the point I had bold patches. So I called back. Got put through to a different doctor. The doctor was so rude, laughed at me through the phone because I said I’m really scared I’m gone lose all my hair and said there is no treatment for hair loss. She said she could hear the stress in my voice but she continued making rude comments and being unhelpful. When I asked her why did I not get tested for iron deficiency as I have a history of it and vitamin D she basically told me I never did when I know I’ve been taking iron tables prescribed to me before! She also told me everyone in Scotland lacks vitamin d so no point doing it. I ask her what do I do now and she said just wait 3-6months it will go away. Eventually she booked me for another blood test to check my iron “if I really want to”. This is such a touchy subject for me and they know I suffer from depression and anxiety for years and the doctor laughing at me for stressing over something that it’s defiantly not right it’s rude. I was in tears after the conversation. My sister called back to the receptionist and said that my last appointment didn't get treated properly and they ignored her! I am now currently looking to sign up with a different practice.

Having been with the surgery for many decades I have to say it has gone downhill, receptionists are arrogant and rude and think they have a medical degree!!! The doctors are impossible to see face to face and when they do talk to you on the phone you can tell they are not interested in what you're saying its like they are preoccupied with something else, I had a review telephone appointment that the doctor made for me and when he called I was asked what the problem was!!! They have no interest in patients well being, gone are the day of Dr Fogiel and Dr Stephen etc when a doctor actually took in an interest in there patients, its quite sad that is the feelings for most patients at this surgery now!

Receptionists are generally nice however are incompetent at answering phone calls. I called for an hour straight today and not once was the line answered... The doctors I have been treated by are arrogant and clearly think that their Dr status means they are superior and that those that do not hold this status have no idea when it comes to diagnoses and illness. I was prescribed medication I did not require (i work within a medical environment), and my other concern (I had 2, one of which was quick) was ignored as i was told they did not have time to check it. I was basically "panned" off with useless meds - due to their "busy" schedule. Never would I dare treat a patient like this. Will be moving elsewhere.

The receptionist are horrible. One of them told me if you are not fit yet to your job cut your hours. Because I had bad ankle injury and I needed extension for my sick line or paper from the doctor that I am fit to work because my manager asked from me. She wasn’t helpful at all and she said if I can’t work or I am not fit yet I should cut my works hours. How rude! She doesn’t know my life at all and my circumstances. I used to be hardworking all my life and now because I had injury and I need time to heal it’s not her problem if I am sick off one month or 6 months of my work..other thing the doctors don’t take you in at all everything e consultation. Horrible!

Wife had appointment due to check how healing her burnt infection, she was late for 5min due to giving son to school and been told by receptionist that she needs to come back in 3 days because she was late. The doctor had to look at infection and apply medicinines once again, when we asked what we suppose to do, because it’s very painful we been told to go to pharmacy, asked receptionist if she could just have a look she would see it’s emergency and needs to be treated by doctor, then she just walked away and didn’t want to hear anything. We know if we go to pharmacy we will be sent straight to doctor, because it’s not some random headache. We unsure what to do next, as we never been advised what to do. I have no idea how such a people can work in reception. We will complain further away because this is ridiculous how they allowed to treat people like this.

Absolutely ridiculous. My 2 Year old daughter had a high temperature over 5 days. We called over 2 days that actually someone picked up the phone and then the doctor gave a diagnose over the phone. Not willing to see her in person and we had to make a covid test . Today we called another time because we think it's all caused by a bladder infection and surprise no doctor available. Just a nurse will call us back .no words for this at all and special because I'm not come from this country and they say it's a very great healthcare. Nope it's not!

You have to be dying to have an appointment at this health centre. The front staff is unfriendly, not helpful. The last 6 month I have been trying to have an appointment but they say to see the pharmacy, when I go to the pharmacy they say I should talk to a doctor. Today I called again, insisted in an appointment, and they said I have an phone appointment in 2 weeks. The more you try to explain the less the helpful the staff is. They know we need to talk to them and they make this a war. Or we accept everything they say and don't try to question them otherwise they will get upset and make a huge tantrum. One of the girls said she had an appointment for today but Angela took the phone and gave me a phone appointment in 2 weeks. Well, 2 more weeks of huge headaches, pain in my body.

According to the NHS website, blood vessels bulging on the temples can be either arteries or veins. Veins are usually blue in this area (which mine aren't) and straight, arteries wriggle to the left or right, have no colour, and usually go to the top of the skull (which mine do), Now you know the difference Dr A, they are not like the varicose veins in the legs. Thanks for the misdiagnosis.

From the start of February until the 1st of March. I’ve phoned 27x, multiple times per day just to talk to someone & got zero answer or zero help, receptionists are soo rude. It’s like they are offended they have to answer the phone. It makes me want to change doctors. it’s honestly pathetic

I was waiting for a phone appointment for three weeks. Doctor I had conversation with, a tone and rush through conversation made me feel he did not care much. It felt he did not try to understand my concerns, eventually because of this I forgot half what I wanted to say. It has been the first time I felt if I better even would not talk to a doctor.I asked his advice and he spoke as everything is just fine and other people have these issues too 🙈 Honestly, I am not attentiom seeker or smth, but I felt like that... Other doctors I spoke in the past always explained me things what relates to my health and gave advice in a way I felt they gave honest advice...

Absolutely worst GP practice, needed to speak to a doctor as i was struggling to sleep .. was offered an appointment after a month, had to fight to get a practice manager to phone me back after arguing with receptionist - few weeks later i am feeling pain in lower stomach, asked for a doctor to phone me to discuss INSTEAD of a doctor phoning me .. they pan me off with a text message asking me to bring in a urine sample - what kind of joke is that??? There was other personal things which i dont want to disclose but after spending 1 hour on the phone in total to then go to the surgery and wait around for half an hour, to then be told someone would phone me when things are ready to collect .. fair to say ive raised a complaint, what an absolute joke of a surgery!!! 1 star is too generous

I never had bad experience with this practice. Staff is very helpfull. I know it's hard to get appointment but we Have to understand how many people need help and how many doctors we have. However I'm thankful for all work they do especially Doctor Finlay.

All it takes is the shocking attitude of one Receptionist to push Patient's out the door of this Practice. It's a shame as every GP and Nurse I've saw have been adequate. Very dissapointed with Reception.

Some of the receptionists here needs to be sacked and be barred from ever working at any GP ever again. Called for something urgent and they ask me to fill out an e-consult form which then asks me to call the GP due to the severity of my issue. Seriously need to think about how you deal with people who ring you up after dealing with all their pain for as long as they could only to be spoken to as if we are toddlers who dont understand why we should and should not call a GP. Get your front of staff trained well. I am going to put through a formal complaint to NHS Grampian Feedback Service so that other people in desperate need does not have to endure this sort of patronising treatment!

I have been using the services of Woodside Medical Practice at various locations in the Woodside area for over 65 years and I have always found all staff including Receptionists Doctors and Nurses doing a great job. We now all live in trying and difficult times and it is not always the frontline staff who are to blame for services not reaching the usual standards.

We have been waiting on the, so called doctors, to sign off and send a death certificate to the Aberdeen register office. We are still waiting and the distress this has caused my wife, as it’s her mother that passed away, is truthfully, horrendous. The service is this Friday and if we don’t get this soon we will have to cancel the service and also, my wife’s mother is still in storage in the fridge, as it were, and nobody has been able to view her. The incompetence is the lowest I’ve ever seen and if this is how they deal with the departed, god only knows how they treat the sick. Today is Tuesday the 21st of February clock is ticking and still nothing after several days, yes days, of calling. Update: Registry office informed us that Woodside medical group DIDN'T send the death certificate like they claimed they did. They obviously could not care in the slightest. Incompetent, training, communication, zero. All I can say is, whoever is registered there, good luck!!!. Following up on the above. We have been informed that the death certificate was sent from the practice and it was the council who got this wrong. The council assured us it never came through but the practice has proof that they did send it. The practice called my wife to assure her they did what was needed from their end as they take issues such as this, very seriously. It was good of them to call my wife to clear this issue up. My initial review was quite scathing but this was quite a stressful week, especially for my wife. That being said, hopefully this is a one off and the council will be more aware in the future.

Poor service I have had an injury fallen on the stairs October 2021 and the doctors advice to me is keep moving and it my own fault forbnot having a job fron Dr Cardo what ever . Excuse me I do alot of house work and walking so I actually do not know what else I am suppose to do to stop feeling pain and stiff tried ti go to manager to explain how i am feeling she just repeats herself and also tells me I don't know alot unfortunately. Well guess what your not qualified to be in a doctors surgery then so frustrating

I am very happy with the Practice and have always found the clinicians, nurses and reception staff to be welcoming and efficient. In these difficult times it is reassuring to find a Practice which is run so effectively

Sometimes it can be difficult to schedule an appointment, and wait times for appointments can be weeks long but the compassion all of the doctors at this practice show to patients is worth it. Never had a bad experience here, and the doctors feel truly understanding. Been with this practice for almost two years and would be reluctant to choose another.

Never had a bad experience here, I'd forgotten to ring through a repeat prescription and noticed i would have ran out over the weekend, phoned on a Friday around 12 and my medication got sorted for collection from a pharmacy in no time. I've read some of the reviews and they seem awfully harsh, have I had to wait 10minutes to get through to a receptionist? Yes, but a bit of understanding is required, patients can take up alot of time on the phone, if you are unhappy with a telephone appointment with a doctor you can get an in person one, tests are run in good time and having a physio on site is a boost. Overall good medical center, one I am glad to be with.

Have been with this practice for quite a few years and have never had any issues. Reception staff always friendly and helpful as are the ANP's and Dr's. Yeah, sometimes the lines are busy and dont always get an appointment on that day but you have to remember that they have a lot of patients who are also trying to get through to book appointments as well
