The
staff
at
the
Ngaliema
Resort
is
without
parallel.
We
recently
sent
a
scholarship
student
to
Abidjan
to
process
his
visa.
This
was
his
first
time
ever
travelling
outside
his
home
country,
let
alone
flying
abroad.
He
spoke
no
French
(his
Latin
is
excellent,
though).
We
had
no
local
contacts
or
support
network
and
a
very
tight
schedule
between
embassy
appointments
and
COVID
testing
(oh,
yes).
The
staff
at
the
Ngaliema
Resort
not
only
transported
our
student
to
and
from
the
airport,
but
also
fronted
him
cash
needed
for
visa
fees
and
covid
testing!
This
was
imperative,
because
we
simply
did
not
have
the
time
to
send
him
cash
as
quickly
as
the
hotel
could
provide
it
to
him.
Furthermore,
the
staff
generously
printed
all
his
various
visa
documents,
which
was
roughly
20
pages
in
total.
Finally,
they
made
him
feel
welcome
and
safe
during
an
otherwise
fraught
and
stressful
stay
in
Abidjan.
Oh,
and
he
got
his
visa
and
is
in
his
program
in
Italy,
right
now.
