This
hotel
is
reasonably
modern
and
has
consistent
and
thorough
cleaning,
hot
water
(more
on
this
later)
and
fast
internet.
It
is
located
very
close
to
the
airport
and
to
Zone
4
and
Marcory
/
Treichville
business
and
leisure
attractions.
It
does
not
have
any
fitness
facilities
and
is
not
a
great
walking
location,
so
most
movements
from
the
hotel
will
require
a
taxi
and,
if
your
destination
is
not
mentioned
above,
a
longish
ride.
The
hotel
staff
is
quite
nice
and
bubbly
and
overall
do
a
very
good
job,
there
is
a
passable
but
unattractive
buffet
for
lunch
and
dinner,
as
well
as
a
pool
in
a
sizeable
back
garden.
I
have
three
main
issues
with
the
hotel:
1
-
The
general
state
of
the
hotel
is
run
down,
and
while
it
appears
to
be
undergoing
significant
renovation,
great
care
should
be
taken
to
avoid
a
copy
/
paste
of
the
spartanesque
"Scandinavian"
décor
that
Accor
insists
upon
for
its
Ibis
brand
in
Europe
(as
well
as
for
its
Ibis
Styles
and
Formula
1
brands).
In
my
opinion
this
décor,
consisting
mostly
of
hard
and
durable
artificial
surfaces,
reflects
rather
than
absorbs
and
thus
contributes
greatly
to
ambient
hotel
noise,
particularly
between
rooms
and
around
floors.
As
the
general
noise
level
in
Africa
is
substantially
higher
to
begin
with
this
phenomenon
is
accentuated
and
the
noise
level
can
be
quite
disagreeable.

Amazingly,
this
property's
plumbing
does
not
seem
to
have
accounted
for
the
impact
of
toilet
flushes
on
cold
water
PSI.
As
a
result,
in
my
room
at
least
(415),
water
temperature
went
from
balanced
to
tea
kettle
hot
in
a
split
second.
This
could
result
in
serious
burns
and
possibly
worse.

Partially
as
a
result
of
the
décor
mentioned
above,
but
also
because
of
other
architectural
choices,
this
hotel
feels
extremely
urban
and
"hard
and
modern"
and
not
at
all
verdant,
green,
or
relaxing.
This
is
again
accentuated
by
the
neighborhood,
but
the
hotel
could
do
a
better
job
of
softening
its
interior
design
and
increasing
the
visibility
and
accessibility
of
its
garden
to
make
the
space
feel
more
balanced.
