I have eaten a lot of places around this country, as my wife and I travel to eat great food. This was hands down one of the best meals I've ever had, start to finish. Service by Adrianna (also the executive chef) was amazing and friendly. Our only tiny complaint re: service was the time it took to get our first dish; other than that, the pace was great. The arugula salad was fresh, my 16oz ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever had, my wife really loved her salmon, and our friends really enjoyed their rack of lamb. The anitpasti platter is a must-order. And the atmosphere is 100% unique - inside of an old elementary school, complete with the old theater-style basketball court. Simply put - Drive to Assaria, KS and have one of the best culinary experiences of your life.

After reading a list of great reviews, we booked on open table and gave it a try. It was excellent! Everything was beautifully presented, wait staff was knowledgable, and the food was delicious. We'll be back our next trip to Kansas.

If you are looking for delicious food and a nice atmosphere this is the place! It's out of the way but worth the drive. The lasagna was amazing and the presentation was superb. Being from Kansas there isn't much opportunity for "fine dining" but this cafe meets my mark!!! Everything was hot, fresh and made to order and although my partner and I don't drink, they have a large wine selection. Go indulge in some amazing food!!!!

The food was good not great. The appetizers were the best part of meal. I would rate the beef Ravioli entree as a 3. It took too long between the courses and the food was only warm when it was served. For the cost of the evening I expected a higher quality of food and service. Charming atmosphere.

We really enjoy this place. It's perfect for a quiet dinner. The menu is incredible. The full bar and experienced bartenders offer endless drink options. Walking around the old gym, looking at the pictures and books is such a unique, nostalgic atmosphere.

I can't just write in words on how great this place is. Not only does this place have high class quality food but the atmosphere is very nostalgic and warm. They strive to make your experience just that because it is that classy. Doug, Rachel, Adrian and everyone else that I may not have mentioned make this place what it is. Awesome!!

Soup and appetizers were good but main courses were terrible. Steaks were bad cuts of meat cooked poorly and the pasta was small portions with no flavor. Expected more for the money. Bill for 4 was over $300

Damn. I did not expect anything like this restaurant to exist in Kansas. I was blown away by the options, the atmosphere, the service, and the quality of food. For me, aside from our welcoming and kind waitress, the highlights were the caprese salad, the lamb stew (today’s special), and the sweeter butter that came with the delectable and perfectly baked bread. And the forbidden rice that came with my main dish was cooked exactly right. All of these moments were enjoyed in the setting of the very unique and really cool space itself, which I had no idea about before sitting down for dinner! I kept thinking: I want to bring everyone I know here to share the experience with them! The prices match the quality of the experience; I’ll look forward to coming back any time we can in the future for special occasions or celebrations. Thank you, Renaissance Cafe!

Unbelievable food in a most unlikely small town. The desert was especially good. It is a place you have to try.

We love this place! Such a unique gem in Kansas, with amazingly crafted entree's well paired with complimenting wines. I just can't say enough about it, the entire atmosphere, service and detail afforded to a meal - this is it. Prepare to spend 2-3 hours truly enjoying the meal experience, this isn't Applebee's. You won't be disappointed!

World class food and service that would rival any high end city restaurant. From the charcuterie board (over the top grilled olive oil bread) to the homemade ravioli (Yes, the pasta is homemade), the GM as our server, quality wine list and the elegant, warm inviting interior making it a very comfortable environment to enjoy with friends. This is a must go to restaurant. Thank you.

When we arrived at the Renaissance Cafe, the exterior immediately charmed. The atmosphere inside was cozy and eclectic. Doug, our server, was personable and would have been fun to have join our party as a member. He was knowledgeable and considerate. The chef in the kitchen with his farm/garden to table knows his stuff. Not a single scrap was left on any plate. The food, atmosphere and service were well worth the cost of the meal.

The owner and staff go out of their way to make any day and every occasion special!

Date night dinner with my hubby for his big 60th birthday,. Its not our first time, but we glad that it was our choice, Not many people know this place is even exist in KS. They're the type of serving amazing high quality in everything bring to your plate, and they're only open 3 days a week. Thursday, Friday Saturday. Might need to call ahead for reservation, They're serving qualities and art along with history. I love the place and the staffs. Everything served was served with presentation from the amuse-bouche to our entrees. The environment is very interesting. The menu changes regularly so what we were served may not be available for others. We ordered the antipasto board and the three dips were a cashew cream, beet hummus, and white bean hummus that complimented everything on the board. The service was excellent and we greatly enjoyed our time at Renaissance Cafe. My entree was delicious but I was so full that I had to save it for leftovers. It was still delicious today!

We went for a feat menu event. The food was delicious. The service was great. The atmosphere is so neat and yet very intimate feeling. I look forward to returning again to try the regular menu. The meal was a bit pricey, but the food and drink quality was really good.
