Nice place for all ages to come, see and learn about Bahrain's history. The place is well maintained and spacious. I especially love the culture and traditions section where they have made models of a person's journey from birth till death, the walk through a market with models depicting every profession, the peeling process and the burial mounds.

Came to the museum. It has a lot of replicas and full scale dioramas, rather than a lot of actual artifacts. Not nearly as impressive as the Louvre. I did find the floor in the entry fascinating though. They took an overhead Google Earth photo of Bahrain and imposed it into the floor tiles. Walking along the ground one can simply look down and see the country as if looking at a photographic map. We even found our hotel. If you really like museums, come to see this otherwise it might be something to skip.

Largest and oldest public museum in Bahrain. The architecture outside is amazing. When you go inside you see an exhibit of Dilmun, the old civilization that was here. There are also other exhibits that highlight the customs and traditions of Bahranian culture as well as Islam. Overall a nice museum that highlights the history of Bahrain. Lots of employees working as well so if you need any help, someone will help you.

The museum is a rich home of history but the Bahrain national museum exceeded that by going a step further by making you feel like you were there, it's like a trip through the time machine into ancient Bahrain. I enjoyed every bit of my time there

Bahrain Museum is one of the oldest museum. The floor of the museum have Bahrain map which was kind of cool and unique to see. We got to learn about their culture which is displayed very nicely. They have boat rides which takes you to the Historical sites. They have a cafe inside the Museum which have a nice variety of snacks and drinks.

It was a good trip to this museum. My daughter enjoyed it a lot... especially the boat ride and the tradition and culture section. Somehow I didn't find it at par with national museum elsewhere. Bahrain has great history with pearls however there displays for pearls were not that captivating. The restaurant at the museum is good and all staffs are kind and friendly.

Love the design of this museum, very modern and sleek. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of exhibits you can see the only issue I had was with certain sections lacking in excitement factor for me personally so I have to give it 4 stars based on that and that guided tours are not offered. It was really cool to see alot of ancient middle eastern artifacts and traditional history but I was also expecting to see more of Bahrain specific history and culture but instead its mostly just outside history in the region and the ancient middle eastern people's artifacts. Overall it is fun and a good daytime stop while your visiting Bahrain.

Bahrain National Museum is a good initiative of Government to show the history of Bahrain ( previous name: Tylo) since Dilmun Civilisation in 2200 B.C. Good models , artifacts , and displays on both floors. This country has been centre of trade and transit between Mesopotonia and Indus Valley. Price of ticket is reasonable. A restaurant is also available. Families will enjoy.Must visit if in Bahrain.

Yet another super cool place to learn and know more on the heritage and culture of Bahrain. It is well maintained and detailed. A must visit place with family with ample parking space. You can travel to a nearby fort by a speed boat as well by paying extra to the museum ticket.

A museum that although it does not have many different exhibitions is highly recommended, for me it is a place where you can breathe peace and has an interesting history. Now you can see some other exhibition like the one dedicated to the airport and its history from the beginning… I recommend it because it is a place that you have to visit if you come to Bahrain, the views are magnificent of the sea and you can also see the theater that is wonderful with a very modern design, you also have the sculptures at the entrance that are very interesting to see. There is a cafeteria inside where you can also stop and eat something, the quality is very good but they exceed the prices. You also have some boat trips to the neighborhood of pearls, definitely I already tell you that I go every two for three because it is a unique space. 🤍 🇧🇭

Perfect spot to hang out alone one calm afternoon and dive into history, artifacts, art.. And then have a nice mocha at the cafe with a view on the sea. I don't know why we don't go check out our history more often.

Impressive complex with wide collection of exhibits delineating Bahrain's history, religion, culture, tradition, life and more. A great place to visit to get the background and overview of Bahrain. There is a map of Bahrain depicted on the ground of the museum which was fascinating. Exhibits are interesting, well crafted and presented.

Visiting Bahrain Museum is knowing the identity of the Kingdom. It takes you to not just a walk but an experience.of the rich heritage of this desert island. Tickets are now 1.1Bhd due to the recent tax but the experience in itself is rewarding. Here you get the chance to immerse yourself to the customs and tradition of Bahrain. It gives you a walk in time of the ancient history of Dilmum to the Modern Bahrain as we know it. If you are an expat and new to the island, make sure you visit the museum for an immersive experience of Bahrain and its wonderful history, culture and people.

Bahrain National Museum offers a dive into the history of the kingdom such as pearling and other cultural and traditional exhibits. It is clean, organized, and easy to navigate thanks to all the signs. There's also a nice restaurant located inside that's a great place to grab a bite after you've finished exploring. It should definitely be on the to-do-list of every person visiting Bahrain.

Just an amazing museum! Definitely a must do, when you are in Bahrain! I’ve seen so much amazing there! Just fully recommend it! 🙌🏼🥰🙏🏽 and I also recommend to book a boats tour, which you can also buy tickets for at the entrance! Cheap and definitely worth it! 5/5 stars for this place/museum and its entertainment/educational aspect! All of you that go there, enjoy! I just had an amazing day there (for seeing all of it I’ve spent 3h, so it’s a good ‘half-day-trip/experience you should go for) Cheers 🙌🏼

Such a beautiful architecture and the museum was arranged so neatly. Especially the graves section was set up in a very interesting way. With a high platform for a better view. There were some digital interactive screens. I tried one which was for kids and it was really interesting to learn about the person age based on the bones on the shoulders.

It was a really nice museum. Entry is around 1 or 1.1 BD. There is no WiFi except at a cafe inside the museum. The displays are very interesting, with a variety of types of displays. Everyone from kids to adults could find things to enjoy. Bahrain’s history is interesting and they did a great job explaining it. The location and grounds of the museum are beautiful as well.

The Bahrain National Museum stands as a cultural beacon, offering a captivating journey through the nation's rich heritage. From ancient artifacts to contemporary exhibits, the museum seamlessly weaves together the tapestry of Bahrain's history. The museum's well-curated displays provide a comprehensive understanding of the region's archaeological wonders and cultural evolution. A unique highlight is the boat ride to the historic fort, an experience that adds an adventurous twist to the cultural excursion. Gliding through the serene waters, the boat journey offers breathtaking views, linking the museum to the impressive fort with a touch of maritime charm. The fort itself stands as a testament to Bahrain's strategic history, perched majestically against the coastal backdrop. The boat ride not only connects these historical landmarks but also offers a refreshing perspective on the island's geography. The seamless combination of the Bahrain National Museum and the boat ride to the fort creates an immersive cultural odyssey

Very nice museum. It's not modern, like there are not much interactive experiences and stuff, but very informative. Each section has a lot of written information, so you always know what you are looking at. My favourite section was the one with imitation of a trade street - there are little shops with real-life sized figures of people working inside. So you can walk around and look inside to see what they are doing. Recommended to visit!

A very elegant and well-maintained national museum with plenty of history and cultural items on display. There is an entrance fee of BHD 1.1, and can be paid by card or cash at the entrance. Upon entrance, there is a chamber to the left that displays art by a local Bahraini artist. To the right of the entrance is the main hall that takes you to the different chambers of the museum. The main hall has a large map of Bahrain on the floor. Displayed items in this main hall change month after month. The museum has many chambers with each chamber displaying certain items. The items on-display are over 2 floors, and there are stairs or lifts to move between the 2 floors. There is plenty of parking on-site, and a few restrooms. There is also a small cafeteria, and plenty of chairs to rest across the entire museum. 3 of the 4 videos attached to this post are albums with different pictures.

A cool place to get an introduction to Bahraini history: Dilmun artifacts, Islamic period artifacts, Bahraini customs and traditions. There was also an impressive (unfortunately temporary) exhibition of the Jurassic period. Even the café was stylish and elegant (I can still remember the eggplant salad).

The exhibit focuses on artifacts and the history of the Dilmun civilization from 5000 BC to 400 BC, including its widespread trading network with Mesopotamia ...( The Bahrain National Museum was officially inaugurated by the late Amir H.H. It was indeed a very immersing cultural experience. I was fascinated by everything I’ve seen here especially from well preserved artifacts to marvelously curated contemporary art pieces. The museum also provided an outstanding presentation of ancient civilization and tradition through these human-size figures. My favorite part of the museum would probably be The Hall of the Dilmun Graves. The first-hand experience of seeing the fossils and burial sites was compelling and indeed very different from only seeing it on pictures. I was late to notice that the floor on the first floor depicts the map of Bahrain! On the other hand, the staff of the museum was nice and was giving a lot of smiles! I give it only 4 stars because there were not a lot more to see.

It was beautiful! We spent more than an hour going through the exhibits and displays. I recommend visiting the museum before going around Bahrain, just to have background knowledge of the mounds, houses, and history. We liked the interactive parts of the museum and the reconstructed burial sites. The place also has great angles you can take pictures from. The Theater of Bahrain is also just across the museum and is also a beautiful building. We visited during Ramadan so it was only open between 8-10 AM. The entrance costs 1BD per person. We asked how much the boat ride was going to the fort and they said it was 2.2 BD It was hot and super windy so we skipped the boat ride

Fantastic place to learn Bahrain's rich and cosmopolitan history. There are several halls that deal with ancient history under the Mesopotamians and the Greeks. The cross section of the Tumulus is fascinating. The sections that contained the pre-Islamic and Islamic period art is excellent. A wide range of artifacts from this period is available. My favorite part of the Museum is the life size recreations of the old souq with shops depicting the potters, the metal workers, the spice traders, the net weavers, the cloth weaver, reconstruction of the old houses and courtyards, the reconstruction of a traditional wedding. The period art is a must see. Don't miss the old car in the foyer. It has been refurbished with a photo taken of the same car at the turn of the last century. The premises has wide open spaces and it gives a very relaxing vibe. Must visit this place.

Excellent modern museum in a spacious building. If you are in Bahrain you should come past. They have informative descriptions of the various displays that range right back to the Stone Age up until the present. There are large sections on the burial mounds (even full scale reproductions), artefacts from the the early Bronze Age settlements, a room full of Islamic manuscripts and a section on customs and costumes. The cafe is also a great place to relax and have a coffee. The entrance is extremely generous. 1.1BD. When I was there they also had a brilliant underwater photography exhibition. Beautiful photos of mantas and seals

Bahrain National Museum offers a glimpse into the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to include Bahrain's role in the pearling trade. The museum is appropriate for all ages and is easy to navigate thanks to all the signs. The interior design is very open and spacious. On a hot day, it's a nice and peaceful venue to relax, decompress and do a bit of learning. The culture and traditions section is one of the more unique exhibits, where they model a person's journey from birth till death. The walk through a mock up market with life like models depicting every profession is also really neat. There's a separate exhibit that explains why there's all these burial mounds around the island of Bahrain, from the Dilmun civilization.

I very much liked the diverse display of 49th Fine Arts Exhibits. I bet there has to be at least something or more for everybody's taste. One may not like every piece on display, but the spectrum is so wide that all visitors will find a piece or two that hold attention longer than others.

A great spot to visit when in Bahrain, especially if you are into cultural tourism. It will definitely enrich your knowledge about the history, heritage, and culture of the kingdom. The museum is very spacious and summarizes Bahrain’s history, spanning more than 6,000 years, from the Bronze Age to the modern era. All the halls are amazing but my favorites were the customs & traditions, and traditional trades and crafts. Notes: - All displays have both Arabic and English descriptions. - The museum is closed in Tuesdays. - Admission fee is 1.5 BD. - Don’t miss on taking a boat ride from the museum to Bu Maher Fort and enjoy the scenic route ( it cost 2.2 BD.)
