Few people were wearing masks. Broken boats are an eyesore. The amazing skate park is apparently permanently closed (who knows why?) This could be an incredible space but unfortunately a few irresponsible and careless people are spoiling it for all.

I love how its open on a long board walk by the mangroves . There is coffeeshops / food trucks . The down part is : it might not be safe for little ones as its too close to water with no barriers / and foid outlets only open in afternoon.

Very nice park. Differentiator among the many Abu Dhabi parks is the dedicated ramps for bikes, roller skates, skateboards and it's very popular with enthusiasts. There is also a mini version of Burj Khalifa dancing fountains and light shows. Downside is the few proper parking slots available but surely you will find a space somewhere. No Mawaqif (paid parking) as of end of 2019 but due to its popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if paid parking is instituted soon.

My wife and I were harassed by security on the 6th March 2021 morning for over an hour because I was taking photographs with what they consider to be a 'professional' camera (my old Fuji X-T10). Even after explaining to the security supervisor that I was allowed to because UAE law permits it as long as no people are photographed without permission (I was careful no not include people in the photos) I was still treated like a criminal and even threatened by the security supervisor. I was provided a list of park rules that included 'no professional photography without permission' and they still didn't accept that I wasn't a professional photographer as they couldn't confirm it (I was wearing flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt)! It escalated to the point where I had to call the police to prove that I was not doing anything illegal! Ruined experience.
