Saxum Visitor Center was superb. The courtyard timeline is a masterpiece of design and the interactive panels really unravel key aspects of the Holy Land. I went with a group and was not expecting what I experienced which was world class. Well worth it.
Had the opportunity to visit Holy Land, and followed a friend's suggestion to go to the Saxum Visitor Center on the first afternoon. I was really struck by how much they teach you in just a couple of hours. They have created a multimedia experience which begins with clever outdoor maps and timelines of the Holy Land and other ancient cultures, followed by interactive computer explanations of the Temple, the Holy Sepulchre, the last hours of Jesus Christ projected on a mockup of Jerusalem, etc. They have very knowledgeable guides in multiple languages, but even if you just browsed the computers you would learn a ton. The result is that you get the essential background, so that when visiting the actual historical sites you can make sense of all that you're seeing. If you are lucky enough to travel to the Holy Land, put a stop at Saxum early in your tour, and you will raise your Holy Land experience to a whole other level.
Definitely a MUST if you want to travel to Israel. Great place to learn about the timeline of the Bible. There is great technological and audiovisual resources to explore. The staff there are very kind and the events there are really cool. Would definitely go back!
Highly recommend going to this visitor center before visiting the Holy Sites in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The breakdown of each site is superb and it gives you the context to really understand everything.
Excellent work. The maps, timelines, and interactive audio visual aids really helped me understand and appreciate the sites in the Holy Land.
Amazing experience! Beautifully organized history of the faith. Very close to the road to Emmaus.
The Center gives an excellent multimedia introduction to the history of salvation from the call of Abraham to the Resurrection of Christ & the birth of the Church. The introductory walk through human history in synchrony with salvation history that begins the tour is a unique & informative way to begin a visit to the Holy Land. Thank you to all who made this experience so meaningful!
Excellent presentation - a lot of insights and very informative team.

Nice people who guide you around. Actually, everyone should stop by here before heading to Jerusalem. You get a good overview of the history of the country

Fantastic multimedia experience helps understand the history, geography and geometry of the Holy Land and Holy Sites.
We, members of The Center of Inter-Religious Peace, are thankful for the warm welcome and the guidance of Almudena Romero, Director and Manuel Cimadevilla. Saxum Visitor Center is an ambitious project of history, archeology theology, architecture, digital, and film appliance. The design and materials, so as the dominant black colors, are based on succinct and precise estheticism, aiming to present a maximal array of data. We will refer later on to the theological rupture between Judaism and Christianity, offering a different view. We will suggest to provide more information on the historical background of The Crucifixion of Christ. Jesus, very probably, according to his New Way, belonged to the "Prushim," the Pharisees, who believed in the metaphysical, angels, and personal Providence. Therefore, they were persecuted by the rigidly intellectual dominant "Tzdokim," Sadducees. The Sadducees befriended the Roman Empire in the land, saw in the Pharisees enemies of the true belief, and caused death by crucifixion of hundreds of the Pharisees. Understanding the historical background and the bloody war among the three different Jewish sects, Sadducees, Pharisees, and the Essenes, will probably throw light on the dramatic event and attenuate the hatred, unfortunately still present to the day.
Great place to help you understand the Holy Land and the transformation it has had over time in a very visual way
Nice idea, very illustrative summary of the Holy Land.
