Quite
simply
my
best
hotel
experience
ever.
I
set
a
really
high
bar
for
a
luxury
hotel
as
before
the
days
of
Internet
reviews
I'd
been
privileged
enough
to
stay
in
some
astonishing
hotels
in
Europe
and
the
UK.
Plus
having
worked
in
the
industry
I
can't
be
easily
fooled.
Stanbrook
Abbey
and
the
team
exceeded
at
every
turn.
We
have
now
stayed
twice
so
can
attest
that
the
standards
and
service
are
consistent.
The
reception
team
are
definitely
the
stars
of
the
show.
From
the
moment
we
arrived
to
the
moment
we
left
they
were
quite
simply
faultless
in
their
mission
to
ensure
our
stay
was
exceptional
and
that
nothing
was
too
much
trouble.
Both
rooms
were
stunning
in
very
different
ways
and
clean
to
an
obsessive
level.
A
quick
note
that
the
double
shower
in
the
first
room
is
now
the
new
winner
in
my
20
year
search
for
the
shower
"that
beats
the
one
in
that
hotel
in
Europe
that
I've
been
droning
on
about
for
over
20
years".
The
food
was
exquisite
(breakfast,
cream
teas
and
two
separate
sittings
a
month
apart
in
George's
Bar).
Another
worthy
note
is
that
the
vegetarian
options
were
varied
and
on
a
stand
alone
basis
delicious.
My
steak
was
cooked
to
perfection,
but
the
mouthful
of
my
partners
vegetarian
dish
showed
that
the
menu
is
impressive
across
the
board.
The
bar
and
restaurant
staff
were
friendly
and
attentive
without
being
intrusive.
That
is
how
it's
done.
Please
don't
under
estimate
this
hotel.
The
grounds
are
magestic,
the
terraces
are
a
wonderful
place
to
laze
in
the
sunshine
and
the
impressive
architecture
(both
modern
and
traditional)
might
easily
fool
you
into
thinking
that
was
the
extent
of
the
offerings
here.
However
this
is
a
fascinating
location
of
historical
note
with
everything
from
the
cellars
to
the
bell
tower
to
explore.
Stanbrook
Abbey
is
a
destination
to
visit
in
its
own
right.
Our
only
complaint
from
the
first
visit
was
that
we
had
to
leave
and
that
we
were
left
wanting
more
as
one
short
stay
simply
wasn't
enough
to
enjoy
everything
on
offer
here.
When
we
found
out
we'd
unexpectedly
need
to
return
to
the
area
the
first
thing
we
did
was
book
in
here
again.
I
have
absolutely
no
reservations
recommending
Stanbrook
Abbey
and
if
ever
we're
passing
we'll
be
back.
We
might
just
come
back
anyway
as
the
6
hour
round
trip
is
more
than
worth
it.
I
hold
no
affiliation
to
this
hotel
or
the
hotel
group
and
gain
nothing
from
this
review.
I
simply
believe
this
absolute
jewel
should
be
given
the
limelight
it
so
clearly
deserves.
