We were left feeling like an inconvenience for turning up at the restaurant, and were told to find our own seat. We asked for recommendations on the menu and were just shrugged at. The rice was good along with the dodo gizzards, however the rest of the meal was just plain bad. The okra was just unpleasant,the beef in it tasted boarderline rotten. The swallow was very bland. Not a great representation of the delicious African food we have had at other restaurants.

The food was not nice at all. The pepper soup smelled bad and the wasn’t nice at all. The jollof rice looked nice but it wasn’t tasty. I wouldn’t recommend.

Very very very bad place to go to. The woman at the bar and the guy moving around very rude and arrogant beings making customers feel as if they are inconveniencing them. I was asking the lady what the jollof rice is served with, she answered with her back turned on me as if we had argued. My boyfriend ordered soup and he asked for water to wash hands as other restaurants do and the guy answered in a very very rude manner instead of just teliing him that there is a tap for washing hands. I ordered whisky on the rocks, the rude arrogant boss lady brought it with no ice and sort of banged it on my table, fortunately they younger waitresss added ice for me. My experience at this restaurant was very bad and i don't ever want to come back here again despite their okay being okay Africans, work on your customer service approach, this is poor on all angles!

I was quite sceptical about going for a meal here but was impressed with the meal we got... The African Soups was on point as though we were live in a Nigerian restaurant. I would gladly recommend Roots Restaurant! I hope you get to enjoy your meals there if you ever decide to visit. My Wife and I give thumbs Up 👍🏾

There was no jollof rice, fried rice and various items on the menu were unavailable. Only certain dishes were available and the egusi was very salty. The toilets also were grim and looked very unkept. I won’t be recommending as I brought a guest and left very disappointed in the state.

Great hangout spot, great night out venue. Great staffs and door staffs. Good business strategies. But if you have a one time celebrity guest, always remember your regular loyal customers, they're the horn of your business. Above all keep up your great vision, shoulders back and smash it

Staff was very rude. We complained the pounded yam was hard and not fresh, also we saw hair in the ayamase stew. The staff did not apologise at all. He was arguing back and forth with us teliing us the was fresh was it wasn't. It was literally hard and you can even see it. He changed it but no apology and was quite about it. Would not recommend purely based on the staff behaviour

Three overall! Focus area for me is speed of service and customer attentiveness. Management boss lady MUST work on her approach and how she speaks with paying customers for real, for real. She has potential for growth there. The rest of the staff are lovely but lacking in genuine people friendliness overall and attentiveness. Music and vibes on Friday and Saturday night are lit. Fried fish and plantain was good enough. One of the staff when asked ' is the meat halal' did not have a clue, she never heard of halal. Please educate your staff. Take note, people skills and efficient service helps bring in more customers through the door. Luckily your music vibes make up to 3.

I've been to Roots previously but this visit was something else. I came on Saturday and despite place being almost empty (2 tables were taken) I was told they got nowhere to sit me down for a meal. Eventually after explaining that I travelled for over an hour I was sat down at dirty table and handed menu. It took staff 40 minutes to come and take my order despite having just 2 other tables to serve. I was made feel very unwelcome and like I was inconvenience. Next time am in Manchester I'll be stopping at different African restaurant.

The waitress was very polite and gave us good recommendations. It was some of our first times trying African food and we were not disappointed. The goats head, while sounding disgusting, was the most delicious dish of them all. All the dishes we tried were unique. Very good experience, thank you.

The soups (okro, efo riro, edikaikon) we got from here were poorly made. They looked and tasted poor. The jollof rice was really good. The sugar and peppersoup was also good. The service was good.

Done in , the food is real good. Just make sure to tell the staff what you need in your food. If you wish to have little salt or pepper and they will adjust to your liking. Price is good and you can tell them how much you have to spend and they make great choices for low prices as well

Restaurant by day, club by night. I had a great time at the club, security was adequate, the people were mature and staff were helpful. Dj had a great mix as well. All round fun.

I ordered fishermen's soup only to arrive and was told sorry there is no fishermen's soup. I should have been told so that I don't bother to show up. I then changed to Afang soup. I asked and was told it is fresh leaves only to be served dried afang. I didn't appreciate being deceived when they know quite well the leaves are dried. I didn't enjoy my food. The rice my kids had was alright.

Where to start, we were moved from our original table due to booking issues, we then ordered drinks plastic dirty cups came, we asked for glasses, the glasses were dirty with lipstick and other things, got new glasses ordered food and asked for starters and main to come out all together they did not, I asked for extra chilli in one dish it was not. We were enjoying the music and someone came to present the bill even though we hadn’t asked for it. Upon the bill we were billed for 2 grilled fish when asking about this they said it was the Prosecco.(please make it make sense). The bill was not worth the food as it had no flavour the jollof was not even spicy. Service was horrendous. Attitude from some of the servers was bad. 0/10 will not be coming again. Then to get out of the building the front entrance was close the side entrance was closed but with no warning I had to ask another customer how to leave whilst my Uber was charging me by the minute. Worst place to eat and for clubbing. DO NOT GO HERE.

The restaurant really nice place for African food. Their food is not perfect but compared to others around (whose names I wont mention), trust me when I say they are way better. I have been there twice and I can say they are also fast with orders & I enjoyed the food. I must commend their assoted meat pepper soup specially, its really good. They are really good with their meat. I have never been to the club section, so I cant say. Overall, its a good place to eat

I enjoyed my meal. It was very affordable, and in a quiet serene environment in the afternoon. I hope to return someday

Food was excellent and presented beautifully. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The tastes and flavours transported me back home. The only downside was, they didn't have a drinks menu!!! Not sure how they manage without 🤔

Typical Nigerian customer service The service is was so poor it set a new low standard. The food was cold, we waited 45minutes to be served this is after putting our orders in from 2 days ago I am inclined to write to my MP to complain

Customer service not so great, 😒 mostly jammed pack and the food wasn't worth the money! But the music was good. Upstairs VIP was too crowded and the quality and sound of the music Upstairs was disappointing. Please improve your customer service, even a smiling countenance will do!😊
