Memberships going up an extra pound next month which I wouldn’t mind but the state of the gym doesn’t justify the increase. All the popular machines are out of order and they can’t get parts for months and months, probably well over 10 machines out of service. The air conditioning has a mind of its own, the gym was shut earlier in the year for 2 days whilst this was fully serviced and seems worse than ever now. Mention this to them and they look at you like you’ve two heads. The staff who should be on duty are never to be seen, either sat in the back office on their phones or talking. New signs up now about putting your weights away which is fair enough but I’ve never seen any on duty PTs ever tidy up or help clean. CD been playing the same track for about 3 years now please buy a new one. The lack of carabiners is a pain. Other than that it’s a great gym. Just a few bug bares that can easily be sorted. Chris E

Cannot fault the gym. I have been a member before awesome place. Clean, fantastic area for space. My only downfall and big criticism is I have paid the £21.99 subscription and I couldn't connect to the gym WIFI 😞. Very dissatisfied as my own network kept buffering.

Excellent gym and the monthly subscription price suits too! You'll need your own padlock for the lockers but apart from that it's a very good gym with up to date equipment on two floors plus free classes with membership. Please follow me if you enjoy my reviews 👍🏻

Really clean, really spacious, great value for money and loads of high spec kit including a huge training rig, functional training equipment, a studio, spin studio , free classes and much more. Better still it's open 24/7 . Over night it's not manner but you can let yourself in using your personal pin number through the little entry pods. Other patrons seem to be considerate as well. Can't complain for £14.99 a month! Comfortable modern changing rooms and showers too with lockers just take a padlock or buy one there!

Great gym! Seriously lacking a sauna though. Review edit as the gym is closed yet again! And for what? You can go to Accrington if you want? How? And who's paying?! Also parking is horrendous if you require a disability bay. Not one blue badge in site.

It is what is is, budget gym. Last time I went 2 rowers, 3 running machines, and 2 cross trainers out of action. Meant to be having a refurbishment soon as of July 22 hopefully things will improve

I really like this place. Whilst it does not necessarily have the best equipment it, it makes up for it with friendly staff, great PTs and a open, bright and airy space to train.

First time in this gym today after moving to the area. I'm used to JD gyms, or smaller non-chain/franchise type gyms. The online joining is easy, entry is easy and the gym is well equipped. All the equipment worked well and it wasn't so busy at what I'd expect to be busy time, late morning Saturday. Changing rooms decent, only criticism as a motorbiker, the lockers too small and entry doors tight while carrying helmet and rucksack etc. Will have to carry helmet around as it won't fit a locker, minor issue really and normal in most gyms.

Love it. One price for gym, weights and classes. Then pick what works for u. Fab staff and plenty of choice. Getting my 16 year old her own membership too. Student discount. Clean facilities. Plenty of parking and 24 hours too. Fab.

A lovely gym, staff are absolutely wonderful and so kind. Changing rooms and showers are fantastic. Only real qualm is that the gym lacks some equipment I have used at other The Gym branches. But, at such great value for money, I have no other complaints, and would highly recommend this gym above all else in Burnley.

Really nice gym, clean and friendly

Good gym in terms of facilities and price. The free weight section is pretty good and has 3 squat racks which is better than others in the area. The biggest issue is how crowded it is. A wait for equipment is expected.

Been the gym this morning. I've been a few times since reopening. I have to say they had created a safe training environment, with lots of cleaning stations. From what I've seen in there everyone is playing there part to stay safe. By wearing masks in communal areas but when training you can remove masks me myself i feel more comfortable wearing one. Great clean gym

Love it! classes are so good with experienced staff. Working at all abilities of fitness. The gym has lots of equipment, only just joined but feel like I have been going years, anyone who knows me knows I don't like exercise but these classes are great and I have enjoyed all the classes I have attended.

This time the gym code for the door worked. Do this 15 minutes before going to the gym if you want to bring a friend. The staff and people are friendly. The facilities are clean and useful. The lockers are roomy but you need to bring a padlock for a locker. There's water machines, classes to do and weighing machines if you want to use them. TVs to watch as well whilst on the treadmill.

First day here at 'The Gym' and must admit the quality and choice of equipment is superb. I am glad we have chosen this Gym to get back in shape. Clean, spacious and a good vibe to the place.

I attended the gym before it became The Gym Group, ave been for around 7 years. The atmosphere is always fantastic! I have trained with the amazing Bernie, she is highly experienced, knowledgeable, confident and great at getting results. The gym is always clean and tidy, staff on site, fantastic classes, love spin!!!! The new equipment are all well maintained and plenty of them. The only suggestion would be for another Smith Machine, bit other than that, well done to The Gym Group, a fantastic site 👍💪

New to the area & chose due to proximity.. First visit-clean & good range of equipment. Had problems with the scanner getting out as did several others it appeared! Looking forward to doing some of the classes too!

The gym facilities aren’t the best half the machines aren’t in use or they dirty. I have lost count with the amount of times this gym has had close due to leaking roof but that’s our fault and if you ask for a refund for the time you haven’t been to the gym then they tell you to do 1 or if you want any help don’t waste your time calling up their call centre coz they actually don’t even work for the gym group. Get yourselves to St Peter’s centre you have a great gym as well as swimming, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi I have joined and it’s great rather than getting ripped off for just a cheap gym facility.

Only just joined this gym quite recently. I love that i can use the gym at Burnley and also the one at accrington, it means I can go to the gym before work too. Really Love attending the classes, especially fit pump, pilates and ab blast. Looking forward to the next session

I’ve been training with Bernie for a little while now and the fact that she has given me confidence to train again speaks volumes. I’ve had some injuries that have kept me yo-yoing with working out, but so please I have such a fab pt who really understands what the issues are and is helping me not only get back into the gym and enjoying it but also building my strength. Thanks Bernie I’m definitely closer to my goal your attention to detail and motivation is really what’s helping me with the consistency, confidence, strength and motivation.

A friendly atmosphere and clean and tidy gym. Great range of classes, especially Pilates with Sharon. I have had PT sessions with Luke who has made me feel comfortable using the equipment and improved my confidence in my technique, will definitely be signing up to more PT sessions with Luke.

All locations of this gym are super clean and all equipment is is really good order with no defects. A big shout out Gillian who is a fantastic PT, the classes she teaches are brilliant too! I couldn’t ask for a better gym than The Gym Group Burnley. All the staff are amazing, welcoming, and helpful. The classes are great! I have PT sessions with Luke and I’d be lost without him. He has completely changed the way I view myself and the gym and we’re going from strength to strength with our sessions. Even outside of our sessions, Luke is always on hand to help if I need him, just like the rest of the staff. Amazing!!!!!

This gym has a nice vibe, it's well equipped and spacious. There's also a good variety of classes. I engaged Luke as my PT and he's a genuine and knowledgeable guy. Really increased my confidence and knowledge regarding my diet and use of the equipment. Keep it up.

The equipment is good but not always working, car park is convenient, would have given 5 stars if a certain PT wasn't rude and wasted mine and my friends time. 😒

The Gym in the Burnley is the best Gym in the world . Staff are so friendly and helpfull. If you're considering joining the gym for tge first time then do not be afraid because the staff are really helpful. The are always ready to share their experience and knowledge with new member and old members as well. There are different type of equipments to use and its always clean and nice place to work out. Another great thing is rhe fact they have two floors which has the same equipment. This means when it is really busy downstairs, you can still get a good workout just using the equipments upstairs.

A lot of needless machines, not enough benches for dumbbell free weights and no weight assisted dip machine. The dip machine the biggest problem. Decent space though, will get a workout in

the person on the call centre phone speaking is an absolute nob, no respect what so ever, i dont know why you would employ him, rang my personal number and swore down the phone about a cancellation. I will never order from here again

Unfortunately fallen out of love with the gym. New refurb now means a really poor and odd gym layout, with equipment that just doesn’t feel as good.

I signed up rather impulsively when I noticed an online promo a few months ago... and this was probably one of my better impulsive decisions. The Gym offers amazing value. Whenever I go, the place looks clean and tidy, there's enough machines and weights available, staff (personal trainers) are pleasant and the ample parking makes things very easy. I also enjoy the mats upstairs where you can practise some stretches or yoga poses. The place is rather big and even though I am a newbie and hadn't been to a gym in about two decades (do other sports though) I find the value proposition extremely good... I will admit I might not have much to compare this gym to, but for the low monthly cost I would be amazed if there are many alternatives out there.

Really good gym, very spacious and clean, good lockers and it's open all day everyday at anytime which is a massive bonus. Only thing it doesn't have is a sauna but has showers. And at £16 a month no contract you cannot go wrong and is worth every penny

The business

Plenty of parking, very clean, friendly, easy to use. Water fountain, lift to 1st floor, tvs all round, shower rooms, open 24 hrs. Showers and changing rooms are a little cold, especially on the tiled floor. Recommend sliders or flip flops for the shower

Was a member of DW for a number of years until multiple closures, so decided to join the Gym Group. I work all over the UK so looking forward to using the other gyms like I did with DW. My first impression was one of space and cleanliness, very light and bright great cardio machines and plenty of them. The changing room and shower room is a lot smaller than I'm used to and it's a bit of a pain entering and exiting but I'll get used to it All in all so far good

I'm using different gym because close to me. But this gym is high level. Friendly personal .

Burnley branch is unique compared to other gyms I’ve visited in the group. Set up over two floors, the layout makes great use of the facility. Equipment is plentiful and always clean; lots of hardware to try that you won’t find in other local franchise gyms.

That's a really good gym. Plenty of space and machines. The equipment could use an update, but with the prices they have and the offers it doesn't really matter. You can easily get your workout and reach your goals. Friendly stuff, clean and open 24/7. I am really pleased with this one!
