The room was clean, the bed comfy and facilities in the room were good. However it would appear that up until recently a cooked breakfast was served on Saturdays and Sundays, there is even a note in the room to that effect and a signed room downstairs for breakfast, at the time of booking it was not clear that there was no cooked breakfast. We were advised to go to the local Wetherspoons but that is hardly the point of staying in an advertised B&B. Perhaps a re-think is needed!

Lovely place very comfortable and everything thought of if you forgot something apart from toothbrush and toothpaste! Breakfast in a bag was a bit stale though and bath/shower needed a good clean

Couldn't really work out what was going on here. It appears to have been a pub at one time but now is not and the ground floor is more or less derelict. The room was ok but a long walk down the corridor to the toilet in the middle of the night was not a lot of fun. With that considered along with no proper breakfast available and the fact that it is in a very dodgy area I think Β£70 was well over the odds for a Northern Mill town. I doubt I would go back.

This place was clean, well kept and not a bad place for a night or two. We booked last minute due to a change in plans on our side, so price-wise, it was on a little bit of the high side considering the experience but not majorly. Being central to Accrington was good for us to travel from and it's right next to the train station. There are a few room for improvement point id make for this place: 1. The toilet in our room didn't fill it's flush very well needing more than 20 minutes to be flushable again. 2. The hot water tap in the sink didn't work. 3. When laid in bed at night trying to sleep the window into the corridor (which is above the bathroom ceiling see picture) lets light in to the room making it hard to sleep for light sleepers. A curtain or blind would-be good or blacking it out altogether. The room was well dressed and stocked. The staff was friendly and happy. The bed was comfortable. The shower was good although a little low powered but it is electric so that is expected. All in all for the continuance and short nature of our stay it was good.

As a first time visitor I was surprised at how nice the bedroom was. I was in a twin bedroom, with comfortably beds ,nice wardrobe and bedside cabinets for storage. There was a hospitality tray with usual tea, coffee ,sugar , milk etc. Bit disappointing was the breakfast bag comprising 2 Porridge containers ( make your self with hot water) and 2 waffles. A Guest House of that size should have been able to provide a cooked breakfast rather than a continental style one. The bedroom has no ensuite with the bathroom and toilet a short walk alone the corridor. Situated on a busy road i managed to find on street parking next street on about a 5 minute walk from the Guest House. For the traveller it is adequate for those who just wants the basic amenities a bed for the night and are happy with not having a cooked breakfast!!.

When we arrived we were unsure of where to enter the building. The two staff/owners there didn't know we were coming and had to ring the main owner who was out and knew we were arriving at the time we did (I confirmed in the morning) the bed was still used covers and was not changed for almost an hour. The mugs/cups were dirty and no tea bags or milk and sugar. Other than this the rest of the venue appeared clean and well looked after.

β€œHomely, clean and convenient!” Reviewed April 2015 I really enjoyed my stay in Pilkingtons b&b this week. There was a lovely homely feel to the place, both ladies who work there were pleasant and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the tea and coffee facilities within my room- a mini jar full of proper tea bags and a proper tea pot! I stayed in a single room at the front of an annex and although the owner said that the rooms within the main premises were nicer, I was pleasantly surprised with my spacious room which had its own private sink. The benefit of being in the annex was the kitchen facilities at the back of the building which included fridge, freezer, microwave and toaster. The shower was nice and powerful and the owner had no problem lending me a hairdryer. The only issue was that the wifi did not reach my room however they offered that I could use my laptop and the wifi within the main premises and arranged that I would be in a room with internet access on my return next week. Good range of choice for breakfast which didn’t take long to be cooked and served! Although the building itself is old, it is clear that the people running this b&b work hard to keep it to a good standard. Clean and homely, exactly what you would want for Β£35 a night! Thank you, I look forward to coming back next week!

Very clean not a spec of dust . The beds were extremely comfy and the bedding of top quality . Easy access to both rail and bus both within a five minute walk . Breakfast was very good all in all a very friendly place to stay

Booked the room very late the day before and paid a fantasiclly reasonble price, compared to double for the likes of travelodge or premier on the same night. Met the staff briefyl who were lovely. The rooms were a fantastic size with lots of great exgras, bath robes, slippers, microwave and kitchen and even dvd's for the tv. Fantastic location and very very woth the price i paid. Would definately stay again. The house is in a fantastic location, definately a hidden gem this place.

Spotless clean rooms, friendly, family atmosphere. It's right next to Train and Bus station.

I stayed one night for a seminar, and I really can't complain. Good enough for the price, convenient location, and quite a few unexpected provisions that I didn't enjoy even in nicer hotels. The practical downside is that the private toilet is at another room down the corridor, but at least it's clean and spacious.
