Update - had a fantastic meal here last night, all was delicious but the king prawn starter and the Lamb Afghani Korai main were the stand out dishes, amazing. A most hospitable establishment. Review below is from just one year ago. We received a warm welcome here last night, our first time here. Situated in a lovely traditional public house the proprietor has done an excellent transformation of the clean interior. A good selection of drinks, including several on draught. The poppadoms, chutneys, lamb chops and chicken puree were all delicious and the quality obvious. Onto the recommended mains of lamb Afghani, chili chicken massala, mango chicken, special rice, garlic and coriander naan and chapatti, all the dishes & accompaniments were outstanding. The impeccable service made this a five star experience. Highly recommended.

Came here for iftaar with some old friends was impressed, prices are good, decor is very nice and staff are very friendly, restuarant has nice big car park, food was delicious, will be back next time for mocktails and more food

Hadnt been here for a few years but good to find the food is still in fine form. Nice setting and good service. Favourite dish is Mixed Desi Biryani and the Tarka Daal.

First time here for us, started with mixed kebab then north bengal garlic chilli chicken with garlic rice and chicken tikka saag with mushroom rice (with a couple of drinks) 🍻 Food was excellent along with the service. Would recommend 👌

Food was absolutely lovely! However, they didn’t seem to take allergies very serious. (Although they have an allergen poster up which looked like they were serious about it). When ordering food they didn’t really seem to know what I could and couldn’t have which didn’t give me much faith. Luckily my allergy isn’t a life or death scenario but for someone it could be.

We popped in here for some food whilst we was in the area visiting friends and we will 100% be driving back down to return to this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and the customer service was 10/10. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome! I would 100% recommend this restaurant and it’s definitely worth the drive from Manchester.

The food was amazing and the service was very friendly, the only thing to let it down (slightly) was that it took ages to be seated, then ages to have our order taken even though we were one of the first ones there when it opened. It was honestly worth the wait and it was the only thing they could have improved on to make the meal the best ever

We love visiting Anarkali. It holds special memories for us (we got engaged here 💕). We came for a meal and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing! We ordered far too much and had to bring some home, but it was all fresh and delicious! They kindly left us for 5-10 minutes between courses to let our food settle, so we didn't feel rushed. Waiters were always walking around, so we could order drinks if we needed to. The staff and owners are very lovely, and we look forward to visiting again!!

Been twice over the last couple of months after wanting to try it before since before COVID. It's probably the best Indian food i've personally eaten to date. I'm a bit of an addict for a good Madras and it was phenomenal, to the point I wished there were double on my plate. This will definitely be my go-to place for an Indian meal out from now on.

Visited mid week with friends. I haven't been for a few years so was really looking forward. Sadly the food wasn't as good as previous and I found the waiters couldn't identify what we were eating as a few people in my group had asked for specifics with their meal. I had lamb chops for starters which were OK and for my main chicken chat, unfortunately all the vegetables were burnt when I mentioned it to the manager I got no response, for £25 a head I expect more. Shame really

Ordered food to be delivered, it was so underwhelming. The Afgani Koria was the only thing with some flavour, everything else was bog standard takeaway such as the rice being old and dry, onion bhaji were supermarket level. I hate giving bad reviews, but I also hate spending money on food that just isn't worth it.

Booked for 20 of us to get together as a group before Christmas. Expected it to be a bit disjointed as we're quite a big group and there was another group in too; couldn't have been more wrong. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and the organisation was a sight to behold as all 20 meals came out at the same time, all hot (none had been standing in the side) all delicious and no mistakes with sides or accompaniments. The best Indian, with the best service and probably the best group meal I've had in years if not ever!

Delicious food everytime! I usually have a Pathia but after seeing the wonderful reviews regarding the Afghani Lamb Korai, I had to try it! It was incredible, I've never had lamb so tender and the taste was amazing. All the food had powerful flavours and was cooked to perfection. The staff are all very friendly and the restaurant is lovely. I'd highly recommend

In my personal opinion the best Indian restaurant in my local area. The food is simply authentic and cooked to perfection. A wide choice on the menu of both food and drinks. First class service and a wonderful host. Would well recommend going.

Enjoyed a really lovely meal here tonight with an old friend. Very large chutney tray with some interesting chutneys I'd not seen before, followed by a tasty mixed grill. Great atmosphere and friendly professional staff.

Soon as we walked in we was greeted with happy smiles and a warm welcome and a lovley sitting area to read the menu get our drinks read for our table The food was delicious and fast service! I had the chicken tikka masala it wasn’t to spicy at all it was creamy and flavour full! We came here for a test if we want to come for Christmas and we are booking our tables for Christmas it was that good!!

Great meal at Anarkali last night. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our waiter recommended the Afghan Korai and it was absolutely delicious. We took our 7 year old and the staff were great with him. We will be back soon, thank you.

Extremely good food. A bit slow service wise left for over 30 minutes before food order was taken initially. Food arrive was amazing missed a mushroom rice off the order and got the chicken korma wrong as they sent lamb instead. Then when mushroom rice arrived it wasnt fully cooked and tasted of nothing with random button mushrooms added. Then towards the end of the night we asked for the desert menu and was left 30 minutes waiting for that. We are guessing they are in the process of training new staff. We would recommend this place 100% as we are already planning on going back.

Went last night,no question was a lovely meal and staff were brill. But when to came to pay was hit with a £28 charge for having are food brought to the table. An S /CHARGE apparently not inpressed as was not made aware of it when booking a table. Was a bit stunned. Kind of put me off going again.

Visited for Sunday meal. Lovely food well worth trying. It was quiet when we arrived and we must have had 6 waiters. I requested a glass of tap water and 30 min later it didn't arrive. So I asked another waiter 10 min later it didn't arrive. I went to the bar and eventually a jug arrived. The waiter poured us a glass and asked if we would like the jug refilled. We agreed that would be nice, but never saw the water again. However, the food was lovely.

The restaurant is beautifully presented and immaculate. The staff are friendly and very informative. It's clear they take pride in what they serve their customers even down to presentation of the drinks. The food was absolutely faultless with generous portions. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding birthday meal for my Wife. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive. Special mention for Max who was especially good to us on the evening, really funny guy, made it that little bit more special.

Ate here for the first time with people from work to celebrate Christmas and what an experience this was. From decor to food, this place is fantastic. I had a scallop starter as advised by our waiter which did not disappoint followed up with the Goan King Prawn for main which was a showstopper. Everyone complimented on how the food looked, I returned the favour by complimenting the taste. Everyone in our party couldn't speak highly enough of their food. Will be returning very soon
