Had fish and chips for 3 people, portion sizes were huge, we all enjoyed it very much. Batter was a little thick for me but perfect for my mum and dad. Mushy peas, gravy and curry sauce great too. Also really cheap! £20 fed 3 of us!

Very disappointing. Worst salt& pepper chips ever, sweaty soft chips with onions thrown over. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The couple serving seem really nice, it's just a shame their food isn't.

Good tasty chips, had them with the gravy. Gravy was nice but too salty for my liking (though I admit I don't like much salt, so I can't blame them on that, I assume it's just my taste). Great serving sizes! Very fast. My family and I have been coming here for years, especially when my grandad lived nearby. Never a problem for us.

It used to be very good years go, many years ago. Now it actually tastes horrid. Sorry guys but it does. If you want seriously good fish head up the road to whalley Rd fish bar. The fish smells from York Street for some reason :(

Went 2nite ask for special fried rice not good it was just egg fried rice with meat and veg layed on top. Salt and pepper chips not good will defo give this place a miss

We've gone to York Street Chippy for years. Everything is good. The fish has to be the best in the area. Tonight we tried the Chinese set menu for 2. It was enough for 3. After ordering online, I only had to wait 2 minutes at the chippy for my order.. It was good to look at, (always a good thing) and very good to eat. York Street Chippy is well worth a visit and it's easy to park outside (no yellow lines) Kevin Savage (Accrington)

Visit every Friday night. Girls behind counter are brilliant. Chips still hot and tasty by time I get home. But sometimes too many to eat!! Great value.

Used to be good however the prices have now been increased but the portions have got smaller and the quality of the food has reduced too. I'd recommend going somewhere else!

Never again, Full order 2x sausage 1 chips Pudding chips peas gravy Fish chips curry Fish was off really bad foul smelling as soon as it was opened. Rang and was offered replacement fish which I declined and requested a refund. They claimed that the fish is fresh every day but unless it was not stored correctly I do not believe this to be true. I was given my refund with an apology. The peas and gravy portions are very small as was the cury sauce only covering 5/6 chips. Nice friendly staff shame about the food

Bought fish and chips from here last week, got home the chips were brown, cold and hard and the fish was stiff as board, No salt and vinegar on which was asked for, the meal was a joke from start to finish. We rang up to complain as it was inedible, and the girl on the phone admitted the chips were yesterday’s!!!! She then said she would write out names down and we could go and get fresh food as they would not provide a refund, tipped up a few days later and was refused food because apparently all of their food is fresh!! What a joke, worst chippy this side of Mombasa. Just to add my dog even refused the chips. This is the only review I have ever left on a food place and that says it all. All the best to future customers. Gutted I have actually had to give this even one star

Some days it can be ok some days it's rubbish I got some chips and gravy at dinner time opening the gravy was so watery it made my chips really soggy like I've put water on them and the gravy had no taste to it just tasted of water! The chips were all rock hard with sharp bits witch they put in my sons kids meal and he chocked on one as it was that sharp Has really gone down hill and the lady who works there needs to learn to be polite as I went in she went what do you want?! no smile or thanks miserable staff
