Fabulous restaurant, great tasty authentic food and excellent service, so good I took a photo of all the staff. We called at lunchtime and had the special vegetarian Thali offer of; 2 curry's, a daal, a side dish, a puri, rice and small rice pudding type dessert...all for £7.50!!! Excellent value. They may be small but they were all freshly made and tasty and filled us up. They also do a fish/prawn thali and a chicken or lamb one. Had a great chat with the lovely owner Iyer, who told us about his newly opened restaurant in Farnworth, we'll definitely be visiting 😀

Visited this South Indian restaurant in Blackburn which serves decent south Indian food. I ordered 1 pint of Budweiser Beer, 1 masala dosa, a portion of appam (2pcs) and Kerala Kozhi Roast which was Chicken in semi dry gravy. I loved the dosa more than everything else. The total bill was £20. Being a Saturday the restaurant was pretty empty but worth a visit.

I love Thira Restaurant in Blackburn. It's a very authentic and delicious food. Very good owner, service is brilliant, they smile all the time and make you feel home. Food as per the taste and quality is fresh, spicy, vibrant, succulent, and delicious. The prices are all within average and there is a parking in front of the place but free after 6 pm. I highly recommend the Chicken Jalfrazi and all starters are amazing.

Been there a couple of times. Tasty South Indian food ( Kerala). Would recommend to all Mallu friends out there. The service and atmosphere is great but the prices are a bit high.

A fantastic place to try out South Indian cuisine, especially Kerala food. The chef is fantastic and the quality of the food is consistent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The crab thooran is definitely recommended. The kerala porotta was amazing. Can keep going on about most of the food there. Definitely a place to visit if you are in and about Blackburn.

Finalists for the 2018 National Curry Awards for a reason, amazing customer service, and authentic south Indian food, must try the Dosaa! Very good value at just £5.

Absolutely fabulous I really really enjoyed my curry I cant remember the name but it was number 35! Ive never eaten food so quick i wish i could have had 2 of them i will definitely recommend and I will be coming back again no doubt about that!

Visited tonight and right from the second we walked in the staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely outstanding and it came in a reasonable amount of time. The new starter waiter was especially lovely and gave us a big smile whenever he walked past. Thanks for making our evening special

It's a great restaurant serving authentic Kerala dishes. Over time I've tried most dishes on the menu and they are all fantastic. Highly recommended.

Superb levels of deep flavours. These dishes are not quick flash fried food. The food is treated with the care and respect you would hope more restaurants could manage but often don’t. The uniqueness of these South Indian flavours are way above the competition in this area We loved our first visit.. will come back often

Went last night for the first time, after our friend telling us how good it was. Really wish we had been sooner. Lovely little restaurant. Staff were polite, professional, friendly. Food was.... AMAZING! Honestly, never had a curry as good. Light, fresh and so tasty. We can't wait to go back....or order a take away. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately we didn't take photos, because everything we had was excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful toward our gluten allergies. The food was well presented and expertly spiced. It was lovely. I definately hope to return!

Was just here tonight, the food is great! It does say one of the best restaurants in Blackburn and it didn't disappoint. Staff attended our needs. We have been to a lot of Indian restaurants in the area but this by far has the best curry and cook with the most fresh ingredients

The best Indian meal that I've had outside of India. Staying at the Premier Inn round the corner (business) and the restaurant delivered to reception with no problem. It was hot, very tasty and very reasonably priced. Good vegetarian selection too. Will definitely order again if in the area.

Wow, I was impressed! Firstly the food is cooked fresh to order, yes even the meat, and it makes such a difference. The spicing is excellent and there are distinctive flavours as described in the menu. Service is excellent and the owner cares enough to come to every table to ask if everything is ok. Authentic and absolutely delicious.

South Indian cuisine is usually just a cliché used by many restaurants to gain traction so was a little sceptical when recommended to me by friends. I’ve been to south India myself 3 times in the last 10 years for a holiday so I’ve experienced what I think to be some really authentic dishes and it’s an absolute pleasure to actually experience it in the UK. I think this is the most authentic I’ve had in the UK with amazing consistency every time I’ve ordered whether that be getting delivered or eating in restaurant. I love eating in the restaurant though as the atmosphere and presentation of the food is amazing and everyone loves a soft drink out of glass bottles!

Brilliant, authentic South Indian food, with a great service. Reasonably priced, and plenty of vegetarian options. We felt like we were in heaven! Fresh ingredients, curries with a good spice kick, and cooked in a traditional South Indian way. Thanks for a fantastic meal!

It was quite quiet when we went, which was a shame. However the food and service were superb. It is South Indian cuisine which is a change from most Indian restaurants in the area, lots of coconut and spices. The food was tasty rather than just spicy, which again can be the case in some restaurants. Absolutely would recommend and will be going again.

Thira is the only authentic indian restaurant in Blackburn/Burnley. The head chef know the taste of people. Dosa with coconut chutney n sambar vada.. wow I felt like home. Juicy chicken curry.. tasty lamb.. starters r yummy. I would give 5* but Price is lil high so 4*. But they give the best quality.

We were visiting Blackburn and wanted to try some authentic Indian food. We were not disappointed. We ate off the lunch menu and had a variety of new dishes. Very reasonable prices too. Recommended.

We both had lamb biryani with poori and chips (an elite combination) and it was incredible so tasty. Large hearty portions and definitely worth the money. Lovely interior, service was fantastic, I am so happy we chose this restaurant

Went last night. Amazing curry house. I loved the portion sizes, didn't over phase you with massive dishes. The main positive was that the food was FRESH!!!

Tried my first dhosa here and it was absolutely delicious. There was a mix up with my order so I ended up with Korma which I normally avoid as too bland and mild. They offered to give me what I thought I'd ordered which was very kind given that it was partly my mistake. I was short of time so decided to try the Korma anyway and it was delicious. This is an informal cafe style eatery serving great food at reasonable price. I will definitely go again if I'm in the area.

Went here with my wife on an overnight stay in Blackburn, after seeing positive reviews on TA and Google. You will not be disappointed. Unassuming restaurant, that wasn’t trying to go down the more common ‘contemporary’ Indian dining experience type restaurants you often see nowadays. This was honest, tasty and authentic food from the Kerala region of India, cooked by a chef from Kerala. Nothing fancy but ohh sooooo tasty. Amazing starters, beautiful mains and service that was exemplary and also informative about the food and ingredients. The last time I had a curry this good was in India. Highly recommend! Nuff said.

Fantastic, authentic food from a range of areas around the Subcontinent. My favourites were the South Indian dishes, such as the masala dosa and chicken 65. The tandoori dishes we ordered were also delicious. Starters portions were a generous size and they were not stingy with the chutneys and sauces! The food alone was worthy of 5 stars and the staff too were friendly and polite. However, I have knocked off a star as, despite having booked our table in advance, we waited 55 minutes for our starters. Our mains then all arrived at different times, so we did not get to eat together. The whole experience took the best part of three hours and felt rather disjointed. I recognise that sometimes such delays are inevitable, especially in the current climate, as many customer-facing industries are experiencing staff shortages. However, we were given no heads up, nor an explanation or apology. I appreciate you cannot avoid the unavoidable, but I recommend just giving a little notice.

I personally feel that this restaurant is to be closed down forever because of the following reasons; 1. None of the staff have been qualified as per the food and safety standards. 2. Food safety and hygiene are very poorly maintained. 3. The food which they serve are very old like 1 week to 1 month. 4. Its comparatively high price but less quality. 5. Quantity of the food is not at all appropriated. 6. They promote illegal work practices like cash in hand, manipulation in the record keeping and so on. 7. They showed fair salary for their employees to attain UK visa so as them to reach UK. Now, the employer doesn't pay the agreed salary to the staff. 8. I personally witnessed that a customer got a long black hair of a woman staff, from the food served. I also have seen that the staff removed a dead fly from the pre cooked chicken in my presence. 9. The maintenance is very poor. 10. They use the same oil for weeks...utter black colored oil....no guarantee for our health. 11. Finally, I affirm the possibility of having rats and other incests in the shop.

Food and service was poor . Started off ..was asked what drink I wanted .so asked for half of lager came back with a pint . told them only wanted half didn’t take it back and was charged for a full pint which I had to leave it as couldn’t drink it .Then I asked for poppadoms with the chutney for a starter while we was at the table .next minute our main course came out first .I asked about the poppadoms they said they was coming now . But said wanted them before main course ..anyway still no poppadoms so gave up asking . The chicken biryani was very salty and just warm ..the actual place was like sat in a freezer very cold in fact one of the coldest restaurant I’ve ever been in . When I asked for the bill the girl came over and asked how it was I told her wasn’t happy with any of it . All she could say is that we’re short staffed.and that’s that ..but that to me has nothing to do with the food being salty or the place being cold ..or the starters not turning up etc ..very poor never go again and I wouldn’t recommend it either…

Do not get delivered to your house. The drive took ages getting to my House was on the phone for ages telling him the directions and he just wasn’t listening. The guy was really rude over the phone and was acting like it was my fault he couldn’t find my address the food is freezing and it’s not the right curry I ordered

Pleasant staff but prawn starter ⁸£9+ tiny scallops...not many strange taste. Soggy baghis. Biriyani tasted oily. Good location but lots of down and outs outside. Very disappointing after reading Trip advisor good reviews.

We really enjoyed our Christmas Day Meal. Food was amazing. Staff were awesome and couldn't do enough for you and definitely value for money. We would give 10 stars if we could .
