Thompson Park Miniature Railway (BPMRS)

Tourist attraction

๐Ÿ˜  It looked like a lovely park , but I took my dog as it's a member of my family and got thrown out by Park Security , as no dogs are aloud to even walk on a lead anywhere in the park. Never going to that park again , what a shame. People often mention park, railway, ride, train,

We came on Sunday so obviously it was busy, queue looked quite long and we thought that we will wait for at least 20-30 min but no there are 3 trains so actually we waited no more than 10 minutes- so we were happy about that. Staff members very helpful, friendly and smiley. The ride itself took around 5 min - 2 or 3 laps... out of them 3 trains - the fastest one was the American on - Union Pacific :) all of the kids were extremely happy and excited ๐Ÿ‘

The railway is run by a keen group of very nice and friendly people. Who thoroughly enjoy keeping this railway part of this region - fun and enjoyable for all. Having been to Burnley only a recent visit I visited out is running season. The club members were very approachable and let myself and the children explore and even get a chance to ride on the train. Well worth the visit. Look forward to coming back when I visit Burnley again.

My child was nervous about the train ride, the train volunteers and train driver was more than amazing. waving to my child and gave a lollypop for doing so well. Loved every part of the experience and will be visiting again.

One of the best miniature railways in the UK. Has between 2-4 trains running on a 1Km track that circles the ornamental gardens and grounds. Entirely staffed by volunteers with a range of ticket options. Highly recommended for young children and fascinated adults.

Didn't get to go on the train. Too late in the day but its a lovely thing to have. Great way to show off the park to visitors especially for those who might not be able to walk the whole way round but still want to enjoy it. Really great setup too.

Didn't get to go in after struggling to pay the car park online as no machines. Also dogs not allowed in anywhere. Even on a lead.

Today we brought a group of young people to have a ride on the train as we got there it was shut. The lovely staff them came over and said he would let us all go on it. The young people we took was so happy as they all have learning difficulties. Thank you so much to all the fantastic staff

An amazing mini railway to go on, price cheaply at ยฃ1 a ride! The trains have fantastic designs including freight and Intercity ones, giving proper views of the park especially when over the rail bridge. Instructions made the safety clear and my bag was looked after by the staff, who were nice enough to give out free lollies!
