Visiting Accrington Victoria was an easy pleasant experience. We used an ipad to get straight to what help we needed and we were given an appointment for 1 hour later. We then attended that appointment and left feeling satisfied with the care and advice we received. Please follow me if you enjoy my reviews πŸ‘πŸ»

Visited 02/03/2021 between 18.20 and 17.00. Excellent service by professional, friendly staff from receptionist at minor injuries, the assessment/medical team on minor injuries and x-ray. I am exempt from mask and there were no difficulties or challenges; offered to wear a mask during assessments but staff were supportive creating a non-threatening, non-challenging safe environment. Wish it was the same at my G.P practice. Thank you to all staff concerned. Fast, effective service and attending Blackburn tomorrow for follow up. Couldn't be better. Thanking you all concerned you know who you are.

I went to Accrington Minor Injuries Unit yesterday. I was given an appointment very promptly and when I returned I was seen very quickly, was given an X-ray and a diagnosis. The reception staff, radiographer and the physiotherapist were all extremely kind and efficient. Well done and thank you.

The Accrington Victoria Hospital is a community hospital providing in-patient services and a Minor Injuries Unit for the local population. The hospital also has access to dedicated specialist services such as Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Renal services together with a range of out-patient services.

I am writing this on behalf of my wife, Julie. After attending for an X-ray, she came out with nothing but high praise for the staff she met. Everyone was extremely pleasant, helpful and professional. Just want to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for your service.

Not a minor injury unit if you need an appointment. I'd suggest you don't get injured if you need help or have a pre booked appointment.

Recently walked in for an assessment regarding ankle injury. Diagnosed with a fracture after x-ray, given advice on recovery and ankle brace given. In and out within an hour! All staff were brilliant. A huge thanks to all the staff involved.

On Friday the 28th of July I attended Accrington Victoria with blurred vision and was turned away by the receptionist. "Go to Blackburn or Burnley hospitals as we have no optometrist" I was told, so I didn't even see the nurse to be assessed. Luckily though I did go to Burnley general, as it turned out my vision was due to a bleed on the brain caused by extremely high blood pressure.(they couldn't believe I'd drove there and thought I'd arrived by ambulance) After tests, tablets and a lot of time they begrudgingly allowed me to go home under strict instructions to see my GP and continue treatment. Thanks to all at Burnley general. As for Accrington's Victoria, I don't think I'll be troubling their doors in the near future.

Went in on a Saturday morning at about 11:30 with horrific pain in my shoulder from a fall at Christmas and also has minimal movement In the joint. I was given an appointment for 1pm, was called in by 10passed, assessed and sent for X-rays straight away and then had my result within half an hour. After finding out I had a broken it I left with an appointment booked in at the fracture clinic for 3 days later. The team were great and can’t tell you how thankful I was to not sit in a&e for a crazy length of time!

Had great treatment with a 20 min wait from limping in the door. Anyone with a long wait time isn't reviewing this service.

My daughter fell down the stairs and split her head open. We went to Accy vic urgent care and it was brilliant. We were in and out, glued and cleaned up within 30mins. We came into contact with three different staff members, reception, triage and treatment and their care was amazing. This is the fourth or fifth time we have been there and each time the care has been exemplary. Thank you xx

The staff here are absolutely amazing and a true credit to the medical profession. From the reception to the clinicians I literally can't speak highly enough. They often take on patients and cases because other local hospitals & services aren't up to scratch; they don't complain, they do their level best to treat anyone in a professional and compassionate manner. If I were running the NHS I'd send a team to observe the good practice here and mirror it in every other hospital. Thank You Accy Vic

Sometimes there is a long waiting time but I think that is because they are understaffed and quite busy, the staff are always pleasant and they deal with whatever you go there for in an appropriate manner.

I went yesterday with an injury to my ankle, the receptionist was lovely as was the Physio practitioner that I saw. That is the only reason I have given 4 stars, I wanted to give one star due to the horrible, abrupt, ignorant manner of the Triage nurse. How she is employed in this roll is beyond me, her face is like thunder and her attitude stinks. Firstly she abruptly said Shut the door. She asked me what had happened and when I started to show her she shouted "don't take your shoe off". Stuck a BP machine and pulse monitor on, no conversation nothing. She certainly let's an otherwise fabulous NHS service down.. Don't do this job if it's a chore, it's supposed to be a caring profession. P.S. I'd just like to say if she had spoken to my husband the way she spoke to some of the men in the waiting room you would have been ringing the police, because there would have been one hell of a scene. It takes alot to upset my husband, he sat there gritting his teeth as he watched how she spoke to others. Someone needs to seriously sit down and speak with her and sort her out.

Excellent and lovely staff. Pleasant receptionist explained how the system worked and made my appointment. Pretty much on time was called through and seen by a lovely medic, then X-rays, after a very short wait, followed by treatment. NHS at its best. Highly recommended

Didn't have to wait too long. The staff were great apart from the triage nurse. She was horrible. I have absolutely no idea why she is in a caring role. Her bedside manner was appalling. She told me it didn't look like I had an infection, then the next day I was in Blackburn royal for three days with cellulitis. It's a good job the doctor on duty was good at her job. The NHS is a Great asset to our country, it's just a shame that people like the triage nurse drag them down. She is definitely in the wrong job.

Waiting time minimal, staff caring and professional, so much better than a large hospital. For example was asked if I wanted a glass of water, never been offered this at a larger hospital when only going for an appointment

Great little hospital, Slowly but surely services have been moved away from this site. People of Accrington must organise and form a pressure comittee in order to keep this hospital open.

Tried to book an orthopaedic appointment. No way to do this online. After a 30 minute queue I was told that it would take 4 weeks before they even made the appointment. This place has a 44 week wait for treatment from referral. Appalling

Called 111 and they advised that medical attention was needed and advised that they had booked an appointment for the minor injuries unit. Once we got there we were eventually seen by a nurse who tried fobbing us off and told us we needed to go to our doctors. After explaining the problem he agreed to treat and said it was a one off. Made us wait for longer and then when he eventually called us through for treatment he had not listened to a thing we said and had gathered the wrong equipment which was needed for the treatment. I think it all depends on what staff are in as to how helpful they are. The male nurse who saw us had a β€˜god complex’ after telling us he was the person best equipped to deal with it and then after not listening pulled in a more senior nurse who knew exactly what to do when we explained what the issue was. The most nice and helpful person there was the student nurse.

If I could give it no stars I would, my epileptic son is having non stop trouble getting his medication, to the point where he runs out and as to call 111 to get help because the receptionist refused to help him or let him speak to a doctor and tell him to wait 48 hours with no medication and hang up the phone on him. Especially when he orders is medication 5 days before he is going to run out. This is absolutely unacceptable!!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I was referred here by 111 to see the out of hours doctor.
