I hope you take this feedback as feedback not a criticism. As nice as your reception staff are and apologetic, please don't put them in a position where they cant book you an appointment. I have now been trying to book an 20 minute appointment for the last three weeks, as I am due check ups which are for my health well being and yes are important that I have them. Today I have been told again to call back in another couple of weeks for July appointments !! . I appreciate how busy you are but so am I working full time and travelling a distance to get to work. So what happens if in a couple of weeks if I have missed all the appointments again and my health is now suffering. Please can you help. So tried again today for another appointment been told to call back again for August appointments, I logged on first thing to get one all gone. !!

I have registered with them and tried to flag as best as I could that I am disabled and have chronic health conditions. Was told when I tried to book an appointment that I simply need to be awake at 7am to check the app as you can't actually book one 2 or 3 weeks ahead. You have to hope when you wake (say tomorrow is Tuesday) there are some for either that Wednesday, or the Wednesday next week, or the Wednesday after that available on the app. So it is literally luck if you can get one. It's the same process if you call for one.

I've tried to get an appointment since January 23 but told there's nothing, yesterday rang when lines opened they called back no appointments, rang this morning hung on the line this time and after waiting 10mins or so an automated voice said I was in a Q of 30 or more people. It's totally disgusting trying to book anything here . 😩🤬

The male receptionist is so rude , he actually told me today to cancel my holiday because my medication will not be ready before the end of the day and I will have to wait until Tuesday, but I go on my holiday on Sunday, I have NEVER been spoken to like that by a doctors receptionist before, I proceeded to ask him for a telephone consultation and he asked me what was wrong? I refused to tell him.and asked him had he taken the Hippocratic Oath ? To which he told me it was none of my business, this fella isn't really fit for a job at a gp surgery. Upon my return from my holidays I will be taking this further, he hasn't got a clue what is wrong with me so to talk to me like a peice of dirt has overstepped the mark.............. Well things arnt any better, infact they are worse , I actually told the receptionist today I've had enough I feel like killing myself and all she did was put the phone down on me , so much for compassion, none at this doctors ......

Awful reception staff on the 1st floor. There are signs everywhere asking you to be respectful for staff, but this is difficult when the receptionist staff are being down right openly rude - mumbling about you beneath their masks thinking that they can’t hear you, full blown ignoring you whilst you’re stood in front of them, and lying saying that your name had already been called (trying to deflect away from a mistake that she had made). Awful, embarrassing behaviour from receptionists at a place where people are seeking help.

Where do I start..... I've got to the stage now that if they can't be bothered then I can't. My legs and feet have swollen up so I went to the late night pharmacy to see about getting some water tablets. And they said contact your doctor asap to change your blood pressure tablets because that's causing the problem. So I phoned the doctor's just to ask if they could put a note on the screen for my doctor, but no I have to ring in the morning for a phone consultation. Why just change my meds over no need for an appointment at the moment. I'm tired of it all got enough going on, I had a private scan not so long ago to speed things up because of my health. I cannot get an appointment to see my doctor appointments are taken when you do wait and wait to get through. It was alot better when you could make an advanced appointment but them days have well and truly gone. I remember years ago with another surgery when you could make a double appointment to talk about a few things, health, tests etc not any longer you feel rushed now having to talk either on the phone or on a face to face appointment. We have to get back to normal now after covid, but I don't see any sign of that happening, no better 27 months on........... .

Early July this year I received a text message from Peel House asking me to make an appointment a.s.a.p. I thought due to them asking me I would visit and do this in person, when I tried I was told that there was no availability and it would be at least a month to six weeks, when I pointed out that it was THEM that asked ME it took the receptionist about 20 mins of discussion with various other members of staff to eventually find out that they actually could fit me in ! and I had a telephone call the following day. Due to my symptoms the doctor recommended an urgent CT scan which I had on 12 July. Now the Good Bit . After 4 weeks of not hearing anything I contacted Peel House to find out the results, Again after about 15 mins and numerous consultations I was informed that they hadn't got any information and one of the secretaries would chase this with the hospital and I should ring back at 8 am in a few days to make an appointment and discuss with a doctor. When I did this I was told again they still had not got anything. so it is pointless making an appointment. Again a secretary would chase and someone would ring me as soon as they had some information. Or she could give me a number to ring the Hospital myself, which I refused to do on the grounds that another person getting involved would complicate matters. It is NOW 8 Weeks and I still have not had any information. Based on my medical condition over the last 2 years, without too many details lung surgery and 5 weeks hospital isolation with Covid. If anything Did show up on the scan then 8 weeks is a long / stressful time to find out.

Sadly a minus option is not available. I have for the last 6 months attempted to get a telephone appointment with a particular GP at this practice. Yes, I am narrowing my chances of getting said appointment, however rI do not want to spend the majority of the the time allocated to me by going over what is a very complex medical history. This is not just time consuming but it is throughly traumatising for me. I have requested an appointment and highlighted that my MH is suffering as the days, weeks and months pass by, however not one of the reception staff have been able to do anything to help me, the requests for appointments have not even been logged on my medical history. The lack of ability to actually book an appointment, is not something that the Practice Manager can blame on COVID, this has been a huge problem at the surgery for 10+ years. Yet when a smear is needed or a flu vaccine is offered there is always time and staffing for that. Would that be because there is a financial incentive for you to carry these out? GP practices should be paid on the old 'piece work' system, every time you see/treat a patient you are paid, rather than being paid for the amount of patients you have on your books. What an appalling state of affairs at this surgery, but I have to say that PH is not the only surgery in the area that falls way below what should be expected. I wish I could take this practice back to the days of Dr Gavin, Dr Hipwell, Dr Turner et, those were the halcyon days of this dead in the water practice!

Been with this practice 4 months since moving into the area. Have been trying to get an appointment for days, all i get when i get a call back is "sorry no appointments left today". This means that by 9am they have even allocated the on call urgent triage appointments out? I have had to get a private prescription for antiobiotics before now from a colleague because i had a roaring infection and couldnt get an appt and the receptionist again at the time told me to go to AnE should i think my infection is bad (innapropriate safety net and use of service) - (this has happened with my kids too and they ended up needing medical attention elsewere). Ended up in AnE wasting time as it wasnt 100% apropriate to be there but i was in agony so didnt have any other choice. Called again for a telephone consult for pain killers and a blood test and was told "go to AnE" despite me telling them i had already been. Absolute shambles of a practice and will be moving else were. Do not register here if you want/need medical attention.

Shocking phone service, they promised to improve their system, being trying for TWO days to talk to someone, please get this sorted, it a JOKE!! Just a recent follow up, I was assured there would be a better phone service in place, it is slightly better now instead of an 20 minutes wait it's down to 18 minutes, A great achievement.

I’m an extremely patient person however this is ridiculous, I had major surgery a month ago and I cannot get my medication on patient access, I’m in lots of pain and I have to dedicate 2 hours on hold waiting for them to answer everytime I need it, most of the time I’m told to book an appointment in which there are non over the phone and if you try with patient access there’s no option because they are all booked up however funnily when you actually do go to the practice is always EMPTY I’m starting to think this is just another practice that’s jumped on the band wagon of taking the funding, inflating the numbers and refusing care to keep costs low in order to help push the agenda of privatisation.

Archaic reception and appointment system. I can’t even request a simple referral letter for private, not nhs treatment without taking up appointment time for someone who could really use a nhs doctor Welcome to Broken Britain… I’ve had better treatment in a 3rd world country

Can’t make routine bookings, crazy way of releasing appointments. Even the staff don’t know the release dates and are themselves embarrassed. Too many rules for making bookings which the general public aren’t aware of unless frequent visitors. No pre bookable nurse appointments until February! Don’t know the release date to even be able to book in February?!

I don't know why other people have reviewed saying they can't get an appointment I always seem to get one. The team there are really good and provide really good care. I've heard lots of horror stories about other doctors but I can honestly say I've never had a problem.

Can't get through on the phone. Can't book an appointment online. They say I'm 30 in the queue, I press 1 for them to call me back. They don't call back. Two hours later I get a text telling me they tried to call. I have no missed calls and full signal. Absolute joke of a place. No wonder A&E is overrun with minor problems. This must be the worst system ever and is only getting worse. Also, they are still hiding behind COVID when the rest of Europe is back to normal. How do we get an appointment. Please let me know how?? You only get one star because I can't give a zero.

No issues with medical staff. Very difficult to get through on the phone and to see a doctor but the nurse practitioners have been most helpful. My only issue is the receptionist who was quite rude when I rang in to request an appointment. He interrupted me and spoke over me several times. Quite off-putting.

Peel House encourage you to use Patient Access for requesting repeat prescriptions! They then totally ignore additional notes on the request and the items supplied are frequently not as requested!

I have been attending Peel House for nearly 30 years and have seen many different doctors there. The vast majority have been very kind, professional and helpful. Would recommend.

Can't make non urgent Doctors appointments, you have to play the phoning up at 8am lottery to get an appointment that day even if its not that urgent. Also something appeared on my medical records I need to ask about but can't get to speak to anyone because when I phone none of 7 options apply.

  • 1/5 Andrew C. 1 year ago on Google
Terrible. Prescription always wrong .tell you to ring 8 am. One the phone for over a hour to be told no appointment left.been sat in the waiting area for a good 45 minutes one 2 or 3 people in .so we're are all the appointment so supposed to be full.

Absolutely shocking! 3 months been trying to get an appointment. This practice needs to be investigated! Same story every day- no appointments left ring back tomorrow.

You can’t get to see a doctor or nurse, you can’t prebook appointments, I was told try again tomorrow when I was stood at reception, I said I’m Ill now what shall I do, she shrugged her shoulder. Not good

  • 1/5 khan g. 2 years ago on Google
The worst health services I come across, getting appointment like a lottery you have to call at 8 o’clock and you will get a response no appointment is left call tomorrow. The staff don’t care, I haven’t seen such unprofessional attitude. I asked them so many time to give me an advance appointment and this can be in next month so I can have a day off from work but you have to call at 8 o’clock in the morning. They have no understanding of acute and chronic issue, I explained them that I don’t need to be seen today just give appoint next week or next month so I can set with GP and discuss my concerns with GP.

Really appalling administration & communication. An error was made so that my partner is being denied their Covid Vaccine & the practice manager is being defensive, unhelpful and is not sorting out the problem. The practice manager says there are 20 other patients/problems that need sorting & doesn't know how to resolve the problem. Meanwhile the community is being urged to come forward for their vaccines as this area and surrounds have a spreading Indian Variant. Just totally appalling.

I would give 5 stars as dr Snape and Dr Cooper are amazing, but I find it is easier to contact the queen than it is to get an appointment at peel House medical practice. It is clearly under funded and would be a great practice if more money got put in to it. Dr Snape and Dr Cooper are both amazing doctors who genuinely care about you and your concerns, they have gone above and beyond for me and as far as gp's go, you can't fault them. I feel the NHS has let me down numerous times, but these 2 doctors have redeemed this experience, in a very positive way. I would highly recommend this medical practice thanks to these doctors.

Rubbish. Only wanted an appointment once and was told to ring at 8am the followingday. After 4 consecutive days of being told this and still not getting an appointment I gave up. Others have had similar experiences and have left also.

  • 1/5 Lauren 2 years ago on Google
Booking system horrendous. Was bad enough calling at 8 on the dot but now its supposedly 6 via an app but it doesnt show up any appointments until 7 and by the time i click on an appointment it says appointment unavailable go back and all the appointments are taken absolute shambles of a system
