Doctors are great, although it's very difficult to get to see one. Ringing at 8am everyday to see if there is anything available (usually not) is not possible for everyone due to work commitments. Also it is not just a straight forward call it usually consists of 40 or more attempts before the line is free and by this time an hour could have passed and you have no chance of an appointment anyway.

The appointment booking system doesn't work and hasn't worked for years so not sure why it's still in place. To get an appointment you have to ring up at 8, but you can only get an appointment for that day only. Why can't we book in advance? Not everyone's schedules allows you to ring up at 8, especially when there's a high possibility that there'll be none left when you finally get through. They need to make the system work for the people, not just make it look on the stats that no one waits more than 24 hours for an appointment

Terrible practice. The GPs are usually good but every other part of the service is appalling. You need to ring at 8am several dozen times to attempt to get an appointment, it's not practical for working people. There was never this problem until Great Harwood Medical Group took over the running of the Rishton surgery and moved it. Simple over the phone or email queries could resolve so many issues. It seems like the government is always blamed but it's just bad management and profiteering from private NHS groups.

The booking system is awful. Been complaining formally for years. 31 call in an hour to get through and this is typical. Queuing system can only handle 4-5 people waiting so you have to dial the number again and again and again. Then when you finally get through your met with, sorry you should've called earlier! It's disgraceful it really is that nothing has been done to improve this for years. Even the app is out of appointment before you get a chance. Fact is they called me to say they want me to book an appointment... but they can't book that appointment with me when they call me to tell me?!? Why? It is such a nightmare when it's takes so much frustration to get through. For the sake of your patience insanity please, please fix this. Just look at these reviews all saying the same thing. Stop ignoring us!

Good doctors, providing you get to see them. 3-4 week waiting time for an appointment. Otherwise walk in and wait and you 'may' be seen. So if you work and pay your taxes, try not to be ill, it is a huge inconvenience for this practice.

I have recently had to call the surgery a few times in the past three weeks due to an ongoing medical condition. It took me four days to finally get an appointment. Everyday I called, it took me just over 40 mins before I could speak with reception. Only to be told the first 3 days, there was no appointments left. The reception staff are rude and very unsympathetic. I am very hesitant to call them. Right now I need to follow up with the GP and I am so anxious to even call. I don't understand, how can you speak to people so poorly when you work at a GPs surgery.

Iโ€™ve had most appts with Dr Baister who is a wonderful, caring doctor, but the processes around getting repeat prescriptions, and appointments needs massive improvements. Can be on hold for up to 45 minutes trying to get an appointment, and could be first in the queue but still be waiting 20 mins to actually speak to someone. Now we are forced to use the health apps to get in touch with them for repeat prescription requests - which they NEVER respond to so I never know if the prescription is issued or not. Just doesnโ€™t feel like there is much care and compassion from management.

My son phoned the medical centre to speak to Dr.Radice as he was worried about my health. Even though it was her afternoon off she phoned him back an hour later and made an appointment to see me the next day . She was so kind , caring and sympathetic I came away feeling lots better. I have always had excellent service from the staff especially Clare Malone who is one of the secretaries . I would recommend this practise to everyone and feel it to be a privilege to be a patient there .

I was sad to see so many one-star reviews. My experience of the doctors, nurses and reception staff has always been very positive. The phone system is less than ideal, but I've always got through and got a timely appointment in the end

Absolutely awful service. Was on hold for 4 hours yesterday. Today I was ringing all morning with no success. Finally went into the surgery, was met with a receptionist who didn't seem to care or know why the phones weren't being answered. I was told by them on the phone last week that I would receive an email and text with what I needed by both the receptionist and the doctor but never arrived , but today she was telling me they don't do emails. The phone system desperately needs updating as I can only imagine how frustrating this would be for elderly patients who don't have online access or anyone to help them with medical issues. They also know my mothers got weeks to live and the lack of support has been shocking . I certain doctor Greyson would be turning in his grave god bless him.

The doctors at this practice are good, however it is virtually impossible to get an appointment to see any of the. They donโ€™t have an appointment scheme, itโ€™s a case of making a telephone call in the morning and getting an appointment for that day. The problem is you can never get through and when you do eventually get through those days appointments are full.

Woeful! . . . .. Unbelievable! Not so much the doctors but the 'receptionists' They have used the pandemic to their advantage and have literally shut out the patient! How is this permissible? Who audits this unacceptable and contemptable treatment of patients? It's beyond comprehension? I am sure there are some good doctors there, however, the 'support' team completely negates any positive feedback! Can't wait to get my elderly relatives removed from the practice! So glad my own practice is so wonderful!

Absolutely appalling reception. You can never get an appointment and when you do they get it wrong as took my 3 year old for jabs and they said she wasn't old enough even tho they booked appointment in. The doctors are good. The reception as Absolutely awful. Very sure of themselves especially a lady called Kelly. Tried to book my 6 year old for foot that's hurting and as a receptionist she's telling me her xray has come back fine and there's nothing more the GP can do....sorry but who gave you a medical degree..then gave a telephone appointment to a 6 year old for next week!!! So she has to wait a week before she's seen to!!!!

Great medical staff but the administration is appalling. It is no longer possible to contact them via email, only via telephone (only at certain times of the day). I am quite sure the administrators of this practice are trying to take us back to the 1950's

What a shame to read such negative reviews. Iโ€™ve never had a problem with appointments , reception or the doctors. In fact I think theyโ€™re first rate.

Absolutely abysmal and pathetic can't comment on the doctors' side but needs a massive shake up elsewhere. The organisation due to management admin etc is incapable. No wonder Rishton was closed down for a period. You need to facilitate for what matters! Health matters? Personal experience quotes this input not directly but come on! surgery was shut down comment made following 5 years of treatment. Get yourselves in order. shut down. Get your act together and give the service years of contributions the NHS approved.

Irresponsible and callous attitude of Great Harwood admin staff I warn others not to register with these I have recently had unpleasant experiences with them where I found the reception staff un-trained for the job (they have misguided me so many times now) and generally the staff's attitude is callous. Please avoid registering with them!!

Needs a big overhaul. The appointment system doesnt work. Sorting out blood tests, urine tests etc used to be done by the treatment room. It was a very efficient way as opposed to this way. When you are ill you dont want to spend hours on the phone trying to get an appt. You dont want to go to Accy or Clitheroe for a blood test or even Burnley for a tetanus jab. You want to see a Doctor or a nurse not trail around the Country for most of the day. It's no wonder people get abusive or cross. It's not that they are nasty it's because they are frustrated and Ill.

Never had any issues with the place, walk in center is fine if you can handle the wait time (which is to be expected) staff are friendly and doctors are helpful and very understanding. It's one of the better practices in the area for sure!

It is not a very good doctors practice at all!! I moved from Clitheroe 4 years ago to Great Harwood and my health has seriously deteriorated because of the doctors here, I have been on regular medication for years for various health issues and since coming here they questioned me about every one of the medications that I had been prescribed for many years whilst I was in Clitheroe with a doctor who had known me for many years, but these so called doctors seem to think they know better and decided whether THEY are going to prescribed them or not!! To which they put my health in serious danger!! They never keep to their appointments or visits or promises to call you!! I really have seriously never known or heard anything like it!! And this is supposed to be the NHS.

I saw Dr Gauge.. I'd rank Dr Gauge as being on par with my previous GP.. who unfortunately retired, both are A star imo.. I wouldn't normally review GP's but probably one of the best explanations I've had so far.. kudos where it's due..

Typical case of receptionists determining who's lucky enough to see a GP. Ring through for appointments, call seems to have dropped into another queue... receptionist initially standoffish and says that doesn't usually happen, but was still able to make an appointment. Whilst I appreciate an appointment was made, I don't appreciate having to tell a _receptionist_ what the problem is, nor do I appreciate the fact that I was made to feel a problem because their line has dropped me into another queue. A bit of kindness really does go a long way. (Having had an appointment with him in the pandemic, and dealings with on patches- can confirm that Dr Baister is nothing short of fantastic! Just a shame that everything else sours it...)

Having been a patient at this practice for over 40 years I have watched it's demise with great sadness. Ridiculous waiting time for appointments, 3 to 4 weeks if you're lucky. You also can't book an appointment more than 4 weeks in advance!! The appointment issues are just the tip of the iceberg, I could go on. Avoid at all cost.

Impossible to get hold of. Appointments even more difficult.

Great GP Practice. Been with the practice for 5 years now, they have always been great, got appointments for myself and my children when I've needed them. Received results much quicker than anticipated, all the clinicians have been so caring. Reception team also friendly and supportive.
