Council tax department are useless. Quick enough to bill you extra for no reason but nowhere to be seen to resolve it. Numerous emails and calls but nothing communication from them at all...

Wow, unbelievable due to Hyndburn Councils ineptitude I have a debters letter for council tax payment which has already been paid. This is disgusting service! To try and solve this issue you can’t get through no matter which way I try!!

Hi, I don't know what do we pay for in every month. People working in there are not helpfull. Roads in Accrington are in horrible condition, but they want more money from us in every year. The question is: do we really need council like this one?

The fact that you have 2.1 ratings means you should be ashamed of yourselves. Who audits this council? If a council has less that 4⭐️, it shows they are in incompetent period! Now to the point ; we have heard how this council is making development in Great Harwood a nightmare. Why have they got an agenda against this little town ? We heard how difficult they made the lives of Gaskell Motor bodies owners miserable and now we have information from a good source that the Valuation office is making it hard for an old pub to reopen by delaying simple matters and prolonging development unnecessarily . Ever since we read in the papers that our beloved old pub which was once closed is gonna be turned into shops , we as a community have been well excited however the valuation office and the council as a whole are incompetent , causing several delays to process simple tasks , do inspections and so on. We might stage a protest for these out of touch staff who work there to be relieved of their jobs as they not in tune with modern day towns and cities. They have no clue what is going on in the world but just stuck in their old ways. I personally might be speaking to a journalist to publicise their incompetence if things do not improve. Stop holding up businesses from opening and frustrating existing ones in Great Harwood and wasting tax payers money by sitting in your offices doing nothing

A shockingly poor council in every way. The staff are rude, arrogant, dismissive and unpleasant to deal with. They clearly believe that they are doing the tax and council tax paying public who are the reason they are employed and paid as civil servants in the first place a favour. The tail needs to stop wagging the dog.

Why does it take the council so long to collect bulky waste. 2 sofas still not removed after 30 working days. Sat on the driveway going mouldy. This is totally unacceptable. Get your act together Hyndburn Council you would be quick to act if I didn't pay my council tax.

Shocking council in every way possible, don't take your rubbish, do not come and clear fly tipping, don't clean the street, rubbish all over the place. But yet miss a council tax payment and they are hounding you using bully boy ballifs. Someone needs to get a grip of this council it's not for for purpose.

You know it saddens me to critique hyndburn council I don't need to put a critique here, the state of the town centre speaks for itself: you have a Council like Hyndburn, you end up with a town centre like accrington: NUFF SAID!!! W0W! Went here on Friday to hand in paperwork & was going to take a few images to document it when some maniac from the council ran from behind the glass screen threw the door open like a petulant teenager & proceeded to assault me; so although I put a statement up about these glass screens I now understand the council actually put them there to protect the hyndburn public from them, again shows how pathetic, nepotistic & authoritarian they are, not with me cause I can assure u it will never occur again cause they'll get it str8 back nxt time.🥊Take the Power Back peeps; Toich fed ar La scum: meaning our day will come!!🥊

Rang for hours no answer, just a recorded message repeating over and over again, this is a disgrace, Hyndburn Borough Council need to pull their fingers out and start serving the public.

Worst council going made my life hell and made bailiffs come for council tax when I never received my council tax letter to pay for it also chasing me for council tax for a property I moved out of 7 years ago they don't care about the people of hyndburn they just care about your money not helping anyone also can't speak to management or have a appointment face to face so can't sort anything out staff are also rude

I’m giving our council 5 stars, as every time I’ve spoke to anyone either on the phone , at the reception or by email. They’ve all been very helpful , lovely to deal with. A lovely receptionist helped set my direct debit up for the council tax and couldn’t do enough for me. Even reading my card for me as I’d forgotten my reading glasses. Keep up the good work, your all doing a fab job.

Below average in every respect. Need to do much better. However this applies to every local, county and national government department. So no real surprise.

Called in to provide info to support my 92 yr mums housing benefit claim. They won't see public at counter and refused to take copies. Not helpful and left us stressed.

Just moved into this area on Thursday 28 December to ask whether bin collections would be delayed because of Christmas hols. A recorded message told me that the offices were closed ! At 3pm in the afternoon!! Nice work if you can avoid it!

totally useless council and if your ill or disabled they are discriminatory and unforgiving - they have caused so much stress and issues

Would give HBC 10 stars, if it was possible! Had the pleasure of spending my internship away from school, here and it was brilliant! Every member of staff was extremely helpful, from the moment I came in and I had the pleasure of learning a load of stuff about local politics and how it all works. A huge special thanks to the Member Services department who gave me lots of jobs to do and made me feel like I'd been part of the team for years. Highly recommended for anyone looking to do some work experience :)
