The beer battered haddock was absolutely superb, one of the best ever! Home made tartar sauce was delicious too. Definitely recommend a drive out to this place!

We went here on a recommendation from a lovely lady and her daughter who we met in the dog park. She said they are very welcoming with dogs and food is lovely. Staff are brilliant and sorted us a table as we didn't know you had to book (as we was passing through on our way to Scotland) had a dog bowl and some treats for our dog. Have to say the food is outstanding. The beef was amazing and tasted out of this world. The gravy really set it off. I give more stars 🌟 if I could. I go to say it is Michelin standard. I thank all the staff again and the chief for out of this world roast. Best I have ever tasted.

Our lovely new local. We've been here quite a few times now! The staff are super nice here and we love the food! I had the Sunday dinner last time and it was absolutely spot on. I loved that the staff member offered extra gravy because... Well... Gravy. We are Lancashire people! Haha. We also started a night out here a few weeks ago and brought our friends from afar and they loved it here too! The Malibu and lemonade was lovely! 🍸

Wow. Service slow food OK. Carpet absolutely discusting, nothing a carpet cleaner couldnt sort out also could do with a lick of paint Could be alot better, it's a shame really as there is so many people who would use this pub in the village of Longridge and surrounding areas.

Today was the first time my family have eaten at The Alston Pub and it certainly wont be the last. Absolutely spot on. No complaints from my party of eight people.

Went for Sunday roast with babies and dog, felt very welcome and the staff were really friendly and warming. The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious and good portion sizes. Sticky Toffee Pudding was beautifully rich and dark, hands down the best pub sticky toffee I have had in as long as I can remember. The only thing that I felt slightly let the meal down was the side order of Cauliflower cheese, the portion was small for the price, and the sauce could have done with more cheese and perhaps a hint of mustard to give it some sharpness.

Been a few times now since moving to the area, food is always good, hot and of great quality. Service has always been great, and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Noise levels that travel from the bar are often high and sometimes a bit of choice language, so not great when dining with family, which is now putting us off a bit, and a consideration when choosing where to dine out. I don't mind the busy atmosphere at all, just that sometimes it's been very loud. It would be great if they could extend the height of the partition screen to the ceiling, to offer some better noise protection to diners. Would also be fantastic to see some triple cooked chunky chips on the menu too, I think it would be a gamechanger for this place.

Great place to eat. All staff are welcoming professional and always happy to help. Landlady Michelle can not do enough to make sure your visit is stream less…… highly recommend!

Called in on Christmas day for a drink, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff really friendly 😀 Unfortunately I started to feel poorly (drinking wine on an empty stomach after a 2am bedtime and 4am wake up wasn't my smartest idea) but I want the staff to know our quick exit and abandoned drinks were not a reflection of the pub.. just me being a nuisance 😂 Thanks again and I'm sure we'll see you again soon!

Went in for the valentine's deal, staff we're amazing and constantly taking drinks orders. Food was absolutely amazing, drinks also of the same standard. Will be returning without a doubt!

We love coming here, it’s the best food in Lancashire by a long shot. Pub classics and a Sunday roast to die for. The service is friendly and attentive, the food is seriously delicious and it’s very reasonably priced. See you again soon

A lovely building in a great position. The staff are excellent too. However, the standard could be raised significantly if the stained carpet and seats were professionally cleaned, they really let the place down. I hope this feedback is received positively, because I think this establishment is an asset for Longridge.

4 of us called in on Easter Sunday we had 2 starters to share 4 mains 2 bottles of wine and a few beers the food was tasty and the plus side was the staff who were very friendly and attentive but not overpowering the total amount inc a tip was £133 which I feel was adequate for what we had

We have been here a few times and the service is very very slow, Sunday lunch was nice but yesterday we went in, first thing we were told all the things they never had, quite a list, we ordered drinks I ordered a pint of soda water and got half, they asked if my husband wanted bacon on his burger he said yes, it never came till half way through his meal and it was cremated so they said they would not charge us but they did, I asked for a small ham sandwich with skinny fries for my 7yr old daughter so a kids meal, they said they would sort something, came back and said they would have to do a normal ham sandwich and brought out a massive baguettes full of salad, cut both sides so it just all fell of, too much for for a little girl. She never ate it and they charged us adult price of 8.95 to which she could have had a kids 3 course meal for less. The baguettes were raw on both meals that had them . Not sure we will return

Guys, what’s going on? Normally you are spot on but last night it was abysmal. Had to chase to take our order. The table that came in after us got their food before us, 5 mins from walking out our food arrived. The food was spot on as usual but has to chase again to clear our plates and sort the kids dessert as part of their set menu. Gave up waiting for their ice cream to just pay and leave. Were you short staffed or short of staff who cared? As every time we came to chase they were busy chatting to locals at the bar. Bear in mind we arrived at 4.45pm and the place wasn’t busy so that can’t have been the reason for poor service

Lovely staff . Had delicious garlic mushrooms for starter. Yummy cheese and onion pie with chips and beans . Lots of cheese in pie.

We chose the Small Roast option on the Sunday menu. It was excellent. The nut roast in particular tasted like a proper dish not a meat substitute.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and polite. The fish and chips were excellent and I had a banana split for dessert which was amazing. Worth a visit.

Very nice food and service. Had the home made cheese pie which was very rich and indulgent. Chips were chunky. Drinks were readily available. Childrens menu was less than 8 pounds for 3 courses and my 8 year old loved his.

Whilst the food was great, at the time of my visit the system of ordering food was painfully slow. The kitchen was only preparing one order at a time and new food orders would only be taken upon the completion of the previous order. This resulted in a wait for nearly an hour just to order our meals and another half an hour to receive them, on a quiet evening early in the week.

Went in for the first time with my wife and puppy on a day where most other places said they were open but in actually fact weren’t when we turned up (no idea why, we didn’t even win against Italy) and we were immediately greeted and welcomed into the Alston which was lovely inside, staff were great and the food was no only well made and cooked perfectly, but was made with care and presentation. Always a plus when they think about water for the puppy too. Thoroughly enjoyed our time thereafter. The tip was well deserved. Think we had Chloe serve us on the bill, a couple other girls did also and credit the chefs

I have to say I was a disappointed, I've only been once so don't want to judge to harshly though. But my first impression is that the food is bought in and prepped on site. Which is fine, if the prepping has some quality but it didn't. The Sunday roast looked good, but as they had run out of roast beef I chose from the a la cart. If the pub is happy from what they make from the locals then all well and good, but they have some work to do if they want to compete with other gastro type pubs in the area. Service was good and at least we were able to get a table. But only because everywhere else was booked up....which tells its own story. Sorry guys.

Very pleasant dining room and friendly staff. The food was traditional in the main although there was also a specials menu that changes regularly. Guinness steak pudding, although tasty was monstrously large so you do need a big appetite for that. We got the last one on the menu so obviously a popular choice. Large outdoor area too. The food isn't gourmet but it's still worth a visit for ambience and comfort eating.
