Wonderfully historical church, now more frequently left open. Tastefully modernised without losing its ancient heritage. Interesting side chapel, rare rude screen, medieval font. Worth a trip up the gallery to closer inspect the roof beams. One of the best churches in the county.

Beautiful church recently very sympatheticly reordered. Incredible views from top of the tower. Extremely knowledgeable and welcoming stewards. Great sense of history within the building.

Another jewel in the Ribble Valley Crown. A place to sit in quiet contemplation, to reflect on the life and times of the people and families who were instrumental in the local area. The Shireburne and de Lacy legacies live on today.

A beautiful medieval church sitting in stunning countryside. There is a strong congregation of around 25 - 30 people. There are six bells with currently only the front three able to be rung. Work is in progress to get all the bells ringing. Treble: cast in 1872 by John Taylor & Co. Tuned to E. Weight 4-2-14 2: cast in 1726 by Samuel II Smith. Very interesting ancient church in beautiful setting above the River Ribble, and close to country pub, the Aspinall Arms.

An unusual church in several respects as it contains large family memorials, its floor has different levels and the churchyard contains really old relics apart from the usual headstones. Not your routine country village church. Glad we were recommended to visit.

A beautiful old church and open to visit. So lucky to have such a place that is obviously cherished and well maintained thankfully. Fabulous view of Pendle hill in December. For a small church it has so much character and interest. Lancashire has so many special historical places. And good pubs and towns close by too.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ What an amazing walk. Going from the car park and walking north, you come out of the forest and go straight into fields of sheep and cows. It’s stunningly beautiful and all so photogenic. We walked all the way around Stocks Reservoir on the 8 mile circular route which took us roughly 4 hours with p...
