Fairmore Medical Practice

Doctor

😠 Would have given it zero. Can never get an appointment. If you are lucky you might get a phone consultation but will be directed to urgent care if you need face to face. Doctors change constantly and reception staff are rude. Couldn’t run a bath let alone a GP surgery. People often mention practice, surgery,

Awful practice. Doctors change all the time; the american girl on reception tells you one thing and then when you call again the staff say "I wonder who told you that" Asked for practice manager to call me back - never happened. On at least 3 occasions I have been in position 1 in the queue for over 15 minutes to then be told, "sorry I'm on my own". Went to see a specialist who sent a prescription request to my GP and a month later, it hadn't been actioned so I went without important medication for 3 days. One of the many different doctors, who couldnt have been more than 12, gave me a prescription for my son but as she was handing it over said "i'm giving you this against medical advice" hmmm! Update. So for months and months, Tesco were my nominated pharmacy and were ordering my medication for me. I called in to collect my prescription to be told that Fairmore are no longer allowing this. Tesco were very apologetic but surely it is the GP's responsibility to contact their patients to tell them that they arent going to get their prescription on time?! This is the last straw - I'm done with this awful, awful practice!!!

Phoned 111 in a semi emergency. They took my symptoms etc then told me to contact Fairmore straight away, or go to A+E. I called Fairmore and said "Hi, I was told to call you by 111, I am suffering with XYZ" The receptionist said "What? Why did they tell you to call me?" I was flabbergasted that she couldn't discern that I was referring to the surgery, not her personally. She's been there a long time now which is crazy. She's so evasive and you have to coax her to ask the right questions. You feel like you're the one conducting the evaluation. She will often just say nothing for long periods of time and you have to say "hello?" She's from the west coast of England, so, when she answers the phone I immediately know it's her and it fills me with dread.

We had to move here after the closure of our local practice and I am pleased we did. Although a journey there is free parking, nice clean health centre with minor injuries, treatment rooms etc all in one site. It is a struggle to get an appointment but think this the situation everywhere. Ive been here for smears, Flu jab etc all done with care and compassion. Happy with the service would 5* if more appts available.

Staff are always helpful and attentive. Never struggled to get an appointment for my children when needed on the day. Always difficult to get advance appointments but thats no different in any other surgery. Would give 5 stars if there was more stability of doctors- a different one every time you go.

I would like to say a big thank you and express my gratitude to the staff of the Medical Practice for ensuring that I received my booster vaccination for COVID19. This has meant that I have avoided not only the full power and consequences of the virus but also, stress of getting the booster organised (online) and, lengthy waits in queues outside of walk-in centres, which must be stress inducing for everyone unfortunate enough to end up in one. I'm considered as 'extremely clinically vulnerable' given my diagnosis of several life long conditions that I suffer from. The hassle free approach was and is very much appreciated and goes a long way in building positive patient to surgery relations.

It was excellent. The locum GP's were brilliant within the nominated individuals absence on mat. leave. Helpful, kind, patient. compassionate and reception are amazing. Sadly I have felt compelled to update this review. After being triaged from 111 Dr. K was her usual immature, condescending, arrogant, overbearing self and did nothing to assist apart from give out phone numbers and talk about apps. Therefore we had to go back to 111.

I have been with this practice for 14 years . The Doctors are great towards me . The Nurses regarding taking blood tests are great . The practice Nurse is extremely kind. The receptionist are always very pleasant and kind . Reading some of the reviews I am shocked because I have to visit this GP 's surgery quite often I have never really had any complaint do I am quite shocked how other people are complaining.

Always been very helpful to me. Registered me quickly a,got my medications until my first appointment sorted nd made sure I had an appointment for the day after if the on the day calls were booked up. I understand people being frustrated but sadly I don't think they can do much more in the current state of the NHS.

Receptionists are very rude and doctors haven't a clue what they are doing. I found my father-in-law dead because of their incompetence. Do not register with this doctors!

😠 Apparently, 85% of people nationwide get an appointment within 2 weeks of the day they inquire and 50% of those get a same day appointment. I've never been able to see a doctor same day at Irwell medical practice and rarely get one within a month. On the 20th July 2023 I asked for an appointment a...

😠 The receptionists at this doctors surgery are absolutely ridiculous. I've asked for my data, that's been missing from specialists, to compile my information together to hand over to a specialist doctor. They said they don't have to give me it by law, which is completely incorrect and extremely unlaw...
