Certain members of staff for the store are extremely racist towards Asian minorities who find it difficult to speak fluent English. They are extremely rude in terms of their facial expressions alone. I have witnessed multiple occasions of Muslim individuals being treated unjustly by White English female staff at this store. What a horrible thing to witness. After seeing another incident today where an English women was given 5* customer service compared to a Muslim couple who were treated with worse than 1* customer service. The English staff lady was being extremely rude to the Muslim couple, they simply asked about a price of an item and she aggressively yelled the price to them, shaking her head and threw their items in the bag. Her body language was disgraceful. Just because they were Muslims and couldn’t speak fluent English? I’m sorry but I’m sure the job role of a customer assistant involved informing customers about the prices of items, YOU ARE A CUSTOMER ASSISTANT, YOU ASSIST CUSTOMERS NOT PICK AND CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT TO ASSIST BASED ON THEIR LOOKS. Bearing in mind the Muslim couple did acknowledge her disgusting behaviour but just chose to walk off instead of argue with a narcissist racist English women. Why didn’t the English lady get treated the same? Oh because she’s ENGLISH. INJUSTICE AT ITS PEAK. I hope my complaint to the security officer does reach management and they remove this particular staff member from her job because she’s doing an awful job at it!

One very slow person on the till and a queue a mile long. Put my purchases down and walked out. Waste of time

Please someone try and sort my order please. I put on the order on the 7th February 2021,its been 8days now. Really upset Amazon ,Smyths Toys are a faster service

Staff too busy chatting instead of serving and keeping the store tidy!! Queue was lengthy as only 1 lovely quiet girl was serving and getting stock off the shop floor for the customer whilst the other 2 stood chit chatting took me 10mins to just return 1 item.

Clothes starting to look dated n run of the mill. Cheap n cheerful.

The place offered a variety of clothing at reasonable prices, but the changing rooms were horrid! The stalls had more dust than a Henry vacuum, with no seating

None of the trousers had sizes on the hangers had to route through for tags while so many packed on the rails, the discount voucher was not valid for suits but I was buying only trousers but would not give me discount.

Visited the other day for the first time. Bought some joggers, good quality and good price. Was in a hurry and saw that they have a 14 day return for a refund policy so I paid at self checkout. Collected my receipt and left. They didn't fit as liked but no worries they have a refund policy. Returned to the store for my refund to be told the receipt I had was in fact my credit card receipt. Apparently the self service checkout gives you two receipts, one for credit card and a second or two later one for the product. I was refused a refund or exchange because I did not have the product receipt. No amount of discussion would persuade the manager to exchange or refund kept quoting company policy. A complaint to customer service elicited the same response. So through no fault of my own in my opinion, because I do not know how Matalan's tills operate I have a product I do not want. The Customer is always right providing you know the vagueries of Matalan's EPOS system.

Im not keen on the layout of the clearance part. It seems very chaotic. So much so that I just avoided that area. And i like a bargain. Only a small selection of choice for teenagers. Nice collections for younger girls. The clothes from matalan are usually good quality, especially for the price of them.

Poor availability in sizes. Nothing in size order. Wrong sizes on hangers Untidy store with lots of stock thrown about on the floor. This was a midweek afternoon not a weekend when the store was busy One person on the till.. long wait time .. however the cashier was efficient and friendly. I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

Poor service , when asked to speak to a manager couldn't call her to the desk I got told to go to the other end of the store and she might be there and to speak to her

Shocking service the whole store is a mess and I was told I need a receipt to exchange something for a different size even though the tags were still on, I think you need to educate your staff better!!!

I know it's a sale season but it's also not a messy season either. The whole shop is a mess, like a jumble sale. Not an enjoyable experience at all.

Store was a mess and half the aisles were empty. Only three staff on the tills on a Saturday.. meant a 25 minute queue! The changing rooms were filthy. The staff member who served us was very nice though, great customer service given.

It's a good store but recently a homeless person has started to loiter between the entrance and exit doors asking customers for money. I sympathise but this is not appropriate
