Hiya.
Me
and
my
family
went
to
Darwen
leisure
centre
to
go
swimming
and
asked
for
2
adults
and
2
childrens
tickets
for
the
next
family
session
in
the
big
pool.
They
said
we
could
only
book
online.
In
the
queue
next
to
us
was
an
elderly
lady
who
heard
this
and
said
she
doesn't
have
the
internet
so
she
couldn't
go
swimming.
So
we're
in
the
year
2021
and
an
elderly
lady
who's
paid
her
tax
etc
all
her
life
can't
go
swimming
even
though
she's
at
the
reception
desk
at
Darwen
leisure
centre
and
ready
to
pay
with
cash.
She
has
to
book
online!
Yet
back
in
the
1970s,
80s
etc
you
just
turned
up
and
pay
at
the
counter.
So
50
years
ago
it
was
much
simpler,
in
simple
terms
we're
going
backwards!
I
get
online
and
try
and
book
a
family
ticket
for
swimming,
I
select
it
and
it
comes
up
in
my
basket
£47
instead
of
£11......
I
try
this
several
times....same
thing.
So
I
try
to
become
a
member,
email,
password
etc
no
problem.
So
I
try
to
login
and
it
asks
for
a
membership
number........errrr
sorry
but
I've
not
been
sent
a
membership
number!!!!!!
TOTALLY
HAD
ENOUGH!!!!!
This
is
NOT
acceptable!
The
website/Booking
process
are
not
fit
for
purpose
and
I
detest
the
elitist
mentality
which
is
prevalent
in
processes
such
as
this.
Whoever
manages
the
construction/concepts
of
this
process
obviously
has
no
idea
of
what
technophobia
is;
and
also
people
who
are
illiterate,
have
learning
disabilities
or
difficulties
and
also
for
people
for
whom
English
is
a
second
language.
Also
the
elderly,
of
which
there
are
many
who
have
the
right
to
NOT
have
the
internet
etc
because
they
simply
don't
want
or
need
it,
and
probably
in
many
cases
can't
afford
it.
THIS
IS
NOT
GOOD
ENOUGH!!!!!
Do
you
call
yourself
intelligent??!!!
If
yes
why
is
the
process
of
paying
for
swimming
so
complicated!
Technology
is
supposed
to
make
things
simpler,
not
more
complicated/time
consuming;
and
in
the
elderly
ladies
case
we
saw
today
