At least once you need to experience a guided tour inside the wonderful Benedictine Monastery. Personally I can say that Officine Culturali did an excellent job! The visit was excellent and very interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable. I recommend visiting the Monastery during the evening tour, because the silence and the play of lights and shadows give a completely different effect to the structure!

WARNING! The hall of the biblioteche riunite is NOT included in the guided tour! In the biblioteche you are told you have to take a guided tour to see it, but you don't get to see it on the tour. Which you are not told before, of course. Otherwise the tour is lovely but for this reason I only give one star.

Io monastero dei Benedettini è un luogo magico che racconta una parte di storia di Catania ,custodisce nel sottosuolo i resti di una domus romana e racconta del rapporto fra la città e il vulcano Etna che con la sua lava e un terremoto ha messo a dura prova i monaci che hanno dovuto ricostruire e riadattare il monastero.Bravissimi i ragazzi delle "Officine culturali " che fanno da guida nella visita e raccontano con passione e partecipazione i segreti del monastero. Viene effettuata una visita ogni ora e mezza , il biglietto compreso di guida costa otto euro , mi pare di ricordare che nell'arco della giornata c'è pure un tour in inglese. consigliatissimo . Bisogna prenotare prima .
