We visited the beautiful city Assisi in Umbria. Certainly, I'm happy that we have seen this with all churches and cathedrals.

Amazing hill town. Exploring the windy streets leads to wonderful views and interesting architecture. The many churches are distinctive and filled with art. We walked from the top to the bottom, enjoying every moment. Highly recommend this city when you travel through Italy.

A beautiful hilltop town in Umbria! Besides being famous for the St.Francis of Assisi and the many chiese (churches), the history of this town goes way back to 1000 BC! The views of the basilica is spectacular on the ride up the hill. If you get to Assisi by train, the station is down in the valley and there are frequent buses that go go up the hill to the the basilica and other parts of the town. The town itself is cute with narrow streets, lots of ups and downs, walkable from end to end. There are several churches, museums and other attractions along the way, including lovely views of the valley from up top. There are plenty of good eateries, cafes and gelateria, gift shops etc.

Assisi is almost too beautiful! These narrow streets and beautiful houses give you something to look all the time. Definitely a place to visit!

An amazing city and, streets full of ghosts and sometimes also an ancient shadow. Cakes on the street, the mains are worth and delicious, worth sitting down and drinking espresso or cappuccino with cakes. There is a bus that takes you on a tour of the city and the citadel.

Again g mapps advised impossible routes that we declined to follow, instead reading street signs. This is now normal for us here in central Italy. Near Assissi, heavily trafficked and popular area. G mapps got it wrong 4 times. So over this application, doesn't deserve 1 star.
