I'm a US citizen living in Italy going on 4 years. There are a lot of restaurants in this area (Vatican) that cater to Americans. By "cater" I mean "charge you outlandish prices for a terrible meal because they know they'll most likely never see you again." Homebaked is NOT one of those places. The prices are more than reasonable, the staff is friendly and patient, the back area is wonderfully cozy... AND THE FOOD IS PERFECT! Ok... I gush. But I've been here so long that I was just hankering for American-style breakfast... And Homebaked delivered. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty, from the french toast to the pancakes, American bacon (seriously... You get Italian-style everywhere else) and scrambled eggs. I'm making this my weekly spot for a taste of home. (And I'll write more about energy dish.) If you're in town and looking for food like mama used to make it... Give this little place a try.

Great spot for a quick bite at reasonable prices. Stopped by after visiting Vatican City. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with ham and a chicken wrap. The grilled cheese was very good and came in a generous portion. The chicken wrap was decent, but I would not order it again. Both items came with a side of potato chips. Service was fast and friendly. Note there is a €2 service charge but the staff definitely earns it.

Very close to the Vatican/St Peter's basilica. Ordered pancakes, a gluten free sandwich and coffee (americano) and were delighted to get a biiig coffee cup (thus far we've only been served relatively small cups of black coffee, but we're Swedish and love a big big cup of coffee). Kind staff!

Great spot for an all day breakfast, not so common here in Rome. Good scrambled eggs and bacon done the right way. Brewed coffee is good too. Tasty waffles and pancakes. Nice indoor space. Fair price.

Bagel was a dry and eggs were overcooked, but it was good overall (just put ketchup on it). Very nice and friendly service. Amazing I’ve latte (my husband didn’t like it). Great breakfast options and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

First of all, the service was not so good, the waitress who served us wasn’t very friendly and nice. The table was dirty and sticky. The sandwiches were not the best. Before we tried them in another cafe that belongs to the same network, and it was much better. Yeah, there was a lot of meat and dressing but the taste isn't good though. The drinks are bad too, cold cappuccino and iced tea weren’t tasty at all. Not recommended at all.

This is a long overdue post— We had the BEST experience here at Homebaked over our wedding weekend this summer and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious hearty and authentic American breakfast, fantastic service and really welcoming vibes! As a fellow American it seemed only fitting to have our Farewell Brunch here, and Jesse and his team REALLY came through. Even though they had not done an event like this before, they did an amazing job with our group of about 50 adults over the course of a few hours on a Sunday morning. The food was fantastic (still get comments about the breakfast months later) and Jesse went out of his way to accommodate us (including things like offering pre packed to go breakfasts for guests leaving early). Thank you so much Jesse & team - we hope to be back very soon and will definitely make a point to visit you every time we are in Rome!

Food was average but enjoyable for a US style diner in italy and overall while we had a decent experience we probably won't be back again. The place is quite small and the fact that the door is often left open takes away from the atmosphere which is already pretty cold. Bathroom was unkept and filthy. The owner also didn't give us a receipt which, by reading other reviews, is a recurring theme. Service was quite slow but the two servers were kind and helpful. Same cannot be said of the owner who seemed very irritable and answered in english a few times when we were talking to her in italian, she being italian herself, which came off as condescending.

We are headed here again today before our tour. We really enjoyed this place delicious breakfast and if you’re a bacon lover from America, you will love it. We had French toast breakfast times 2 my husband and daughter had mimosas. That were delicious. The orange juice is fresh squeezed. The coffee is good. We can’t see anything negative. It was a great experience. Great service, great food.! Clean!

The best breakfast place in all of Rome ( in my opinion) is Homebaked Porta Cavalleggeri. It's absolutely delicious. The American breakfast + a glass of the fresh squeezed orange juice is superb and absolutely delicious. The buffalo is very spicy and fantastic. Our waiter was very friendly and kind. The service ( despite it being rush hour) was speedy and we got our food soon after ordering. The atmosphere was very cheerful with the bright yellow walls + decor. Such a fun spot I highly recommend checking it out!!

Came here twice while visiting Rome. Love love love. The place is so cute and comfty. The owner is super nice and helpful. We are from the USA, so this place definitely felt like home but better! The maple syrup and french toast was the best I ever tasted! Prices are reasonable and the portions were a good size. My party enjoy their meals as well. Highly recommend this place!

the sweetest workers who speak very strong english. the food tastes just like it would from an american breakfast place. if you’re an american and you’re homesick, this place is v good! i had a strawberry smoothie (it was on the sweeter side but still yummy) and my friend had a vanilla milkshake. i 100% will be back for the milkshake, it was AMAZING

Great variety for breakfast or brunch! I really loved my avocado toast, and the strawberry milkshake reminded me of my childhood :) Probably in the morning, it could be a line, but you’ll need only to wait around 10 min!

The restaurant is very nice and welcoming. The staff is friendly and caring. The service was great and quick. The prices were fair. We ordered American breakfast and The Olga, and to drink, we ordered Strawberry milkshake and Baileycino. We must give our appreciation to the staff regarding the baileycino - the drink itself is "hot", but since we wanted cold drinks on a hot day, the staff offered immediately to make the drink cold, and we must say IT WAS PERFECT. Thank you very much for a great experience

Definitely felt like home, in Rome! This place was close to the Vatican and our airbnb, so we decided to pop in. They had Dr. Pepper, which made my teenage son so happy (he hadn't had it for 3 weeks at that point). Staff is very nice and service is prompt. They do charge £2 service fee, so be aware of that. Would recommend if you're looking for more of an American breakfast experience.

Great little spot for some American breakfast!! Just what you need after 2 weeks in Europe. Very clean, friendly staff and fast service. Must visit if you’re in Rome and you miss that breakfast wrap or French toast. Yum!!

If you're an American looking for just a slice of home this is the perfect stop. We came to have some American breakfast, highly recommend the French toast, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. We also had a cappuccino and it was delicious. Staff was very friendly and spoke English, and they had some English pop music playing which we found comforting. Able to pay with credit card. Highly recommend stopping here if you're a little homesick on your trip.

The food looks amazing but the eggs were dry. Taste wasn't really the highlight. The bathroom doesn't have a door neither water to wash the hands.

If you are in Italy near Vatican area and looking for American Breakfast give this place a try, food is perfect and clean, homemade iced tea is good 👌🏻Stuff are nice and welcoming.

The friendliness, the service and the design of the counter and the restaurant were definitely a 5 star experience. The food was good. I had pancakes, which were great and my friend had the breakfast burrito, which was okay but not a "revelation". I was disappointed with the toilets, apart from the fact that they were very very spartan (e.g. no toilet seat), you should at least be able to lock them. But all in all, the place is great for an American breakfast and I would come again and try some more :-)

I love American breakfast, and Homebaked had great food and amazing service! I had bagel with bacon, waffles, juice and ice tea. Everything was really good, and service was definitely one of the best in the 10 days I spent in Italy! I definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Rome/Vatican! 😃

A great spot to get some American favorites! From pancakes, eggs & bacon, to breakfast sandwiches, they have a wide variety of options. The decor is super cute and there was never a shortage of diners coming and going to visit “Grandma’s Kitchen.” If you crave American comfort food, come here!
